fittty: No GTBank wouldn't charge you. Wellsfargo is okay. With as little as $25 you can open an account. Although, your school be in partnership with a bank to give students a checking account that don't charge you monthly.

fittty: If you have the cash before you travelling date why not just bring it along because of GTBank exchange rate? But better still you can leave it in your GTB account then come here with your master card. You simply walk into any WalMart store and tell them you want to buy money order of $1,000. It cost just 60cent for the money order. Since you'll be needing $2,000 worth then you buy 2 because the maximum you can buy is $1,000. So the 2 costs just $1.20. You'll by swiping your GTB master card in the walmart store. Then you take it to your new bank account and give them to deposit it. Simple!

If am not mistaking, I heard that VIU is no go area for any program becos is RED Flag @ the embassy. I also heard that it is a mush room school, so pally please try and look for another school because this school will get you direct DENIAL @ the embassy. Oga imperiouxx can say more on it.

there is no error on your I-20 bro, go to the embassy with your dad's company bank statement with supporting documents. the visa is yours

After reading all the complexities involved in I-20, I had to send a mail for my school to send an e-copy of my I-20.
Though I did not see any mistake on my own ( especially on my name, DOB and all that,) But I needed a clarification from the house. On the financial part, they wrote.

Students personal fund : $0
Funds from school : $0
Specify type:_______________
Funds from another source: $XX,Bleep
Specify type: John Smith Investment company Nig. ( Which is my dad's account name)

My concern is that they changed the 'funds from family' to be 'funds from another source'

And also I will be going with my dads company's Corporate Affairs Commission registration certificate. and Affidavit of financial support. I hope that will help?

I have some questions for you, did you submit your dad company bank statement to your school if no there is a problem, but if yes there is no problem.
what that means is that you need to go to the embassy with your dad's company bank statement and every other documents he can gives you from is company, likes, CAC, TAX CLEARANCE n LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP. With all this you should be fine. Cheers

Pally pls try and reschedule your visa interview becos personal fund is far different from family fund, why don't you contact your school to give you another I-20 and book emergency appointment around middle of December. It is always good to get your visa at first attempt.
Let do it this way, contact your school for another I-20, cancelled your date with embassy n choose another date around january, when you receive the corrected I-20 look for emergency date with the embassy am sure you will get one around december, go for your interview n get your visa approve. You don't need to notarized sponsorship letter, just print it on her company letterhead and let her sign n stamp it. Your leave letter should be address to you not the embassy but your company introduction letter should be address to the embassy, I hope this help. Cheers

airline might not want to carry you if they dont know the kind of visa you have, becos you can not fly one way ticket with B1/B2 visa which is business and visiting. so with copy of your visa which is F1 they will allow you to fly. to avoid unnecessary delay send your sponsor copy of your visa.

Just give he/she your details as it appear on your international passport including copy of your visa page for one way ticket. After payment he/she will send your E-ticket to you through your mail.

Bank cant write sponsorship letter for you oooooooooo, they can only give the owner of the account reference letter that is not liable to the bank

Fill another DS 160 and go to appointment section and update it with your new DS 160 reference number. When you get to appointment section click update and insert your new reference number to replace the old reference number.

You need to wait for your I-20 because of your Sevis fee number and your school code, and for somebody helping you to pay. You need to fill I-901 form and scan to him/her and Tell the person to help u to buy money order and send to DHS office with the scan copy of your I-901 form

Ricky Rozay: My brother, I think Mandybaby2007 has said it all. You know I told you yesterday about the importance of taking Standarlized test to the Embassy, because it portrays one as a GENUINE and serious student.

Assuming you informed us earlier here like about 2 months ago, you would have been able to meet up for the SAT test which held this month on the 2nd of November.

So considering the fact that your interview is just around the corner, like in a few weeks time, and there is No much time for you to take the SAT anymore, since the next SAT text is scheduled to hold in January 2014.

I will advice you go with faith and pray for the best. God's favour is all you need.

But Pls go with a Waiver letter from your school stating you were exempted from taking the SAT or TOEFL due to your brilliant performance in your WAEC and you also mix this response with that your suggestion you gave me yesterday night.

I am quite new in the travel section of nairaland and I must say tha I am thoroughly impressed. You guys are like one big family and everybody is genuinely concerned about evreybody else. That said I need the advice of the gurus in the house and I hope that you would be able to spare some time to help a brother out. Here goes:

I have scheduled a visa appointment but I am a little confused cos of my situation.

1. I have an online masters degree from a school in America but I haven't been to America before. I am wondering if i should tell the VOs about this but from the advice you guys were giving on the forum it appears that this may actually work against me. My fear is that if I do tell the VO he would want to know why I want to pursue another degree and would ask why I dont want to do it online again. Should I reveal the info about my masters degree?

2. I have a full scholarship that covers tuition and expenses(this is why i want to travel for my second masters).I did TOEFL and GRE back then but the TOEFL is expired. Is it okay if I present the GRE alone when the VO requests for standardized test? Would the lack of TOEFL count against me?

I finished school 2007 and I have been working since then. Any other advice would be most welcome. I await to hear from all the gurus in the house if they can spare the time.

Question 2: you are good to go with your GRE, for master's program GMAT/GRE is the main requirements not Toefl. Question 1: don't fill the online master in your DS-160, filling it will bring out lot of questions which am sure you are not ready to answer.
