Health › Coconut Oil Is Better Than Any Toothpaste, Says New Study by Kunlexic(op): 8:40pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
Streptococcus mutans is an acid-producing bacteria that highly affects the tooth decay. The tooth decay affects 60-90 % of children and majority of adults living in industrialized countries.
This study showed that when the coconut oil was treated with digestive enzymes, it successfully prevents the growth of many differing bacteria found in the mouth, including the Streptococcus mutans.
Even though the finding that coconut oil provides potent bacteria fighting properties is nothing new, additional follow up studies presented at the Autumn meeting of the Society for General Microbiology at the University of Warwick, indicate that enzyme- treated coconut oil acts as killer to the Candida albicans, type of yeast.
According to the said lead researcher Dr Damien Brady, from the Athlone Institute of Technology in the Republic of Ireland, “Incorporating enzyme-modified coconut oil into dental hygiene products would be an attractive alternative to chemical additives, particularly as it works at relatively low concentrations. Also, with increasing antibiotic resistance, it is important that we turn our attention to new ways to combat microbial infection. ”
Besides the vast importance of their research in terms of our oral health, this study also investigates the effects if digested products like coconut oil, on our overall gut health.
As Dr. Brady explains:“Our data suggests that products of human digestion show antimicrobial activity. This could have implications for how bacteria colonise the cells lining the digestive tract and for overall gut health.”
In case you have never considered the coconut oil as a way to clean your teeth and improve the oral health, it is high time to do so. In fact, the coconut oil is even more effective than the toothpaste or mouth wash you normally use, as it doesn’t contain fluoride.
Oil Pulling
Just swish a spoonful of extra virgin coconut oil around your mouth for 15-20 minutes. Then, spit it out and rinse with water. Make sure you don’t swallow the oil because it is loaded with the nasty mouth bugs.
Tooth Paste Recipe
Ingredients:
½ cup Coconut Oil 15-30 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil 2-3 Tablespoons Baking Soda
Instructions:
Combine the coconut oil, the peppermint oil and the baking soda. Mix well. Transfer into a glass jar and let it cool off. Use it as replacement to the tooth paste you normally use.

Bimpe29: See your life. Why are you ranting? Verify from google and stop hurling insult. I knew dat from ur google search,u went to wikipedia. The wikipedia that told u that the landmass of the institutions said unilorin is 15k ha right while ABU is 7K Ha and OAU is 11Ha.why dnt u notice that it is that same search engine that told u Abu is the biggest in Nigeria and 2nd in Africa after univ of cairo. I just want u to knw dat dose figures of landmass are not confirmed figures, they are estimated figures from their eyes view into the campus and it is written on their site but from research and ranking ABU was given the largest in Nigeria,OAU is the 2nd in terms of land mass. |

usermane: Peace!
I will drop my two cents and urge you to dig further on your own.
The Suffis are partisan of suffism, an early Muslim creed that champion a more spiritual and mystical approach to practising Islam, instead of the orthodox legalistic approach. In their discourse, much emphasis is laid on rituals and worship to purify the soul, way beyond statutes.
The Sunnis(Ahlul sunna wal Jama'a) are one of the earliest creed to emerge following the death of Muhammad. Most Muslims 80% belong to the Sunni creed. The Sunnis interpret Islam from a more traditional view, laying much emphasis on reports or deeds(Hadith) attributed to Muhammad or his companions.
The Salafis were originally partisans of an early reformist Muslim movement in the beggining of the 20th century. The salafis preached a more modern and less conservative take on Islam in order to prove the compatibility of Islam with modern trends(democracy, human right, freedom of expression) and get the Muslim world less dependent on the West, economical and technological wise. The salafis called for a return to the primary texts of Islam, challenging the orthodox interpretation of Islamic text with a more rational and liberal one.
Unfortunately, the salafi movement was corrupted from within and outside into Wahhabism, another contemporary reformist movement albeit more rigid, legalistic, ultraconservative and anti-modern in its interpretation of Islam. Today Salafis have no bearing with the original salafis but are Wahabbis. Jazakumllah khairan bro |

Bimpe29: This is not true at all, Unilorin is the biggest. The University of Ilorin is located in the ancient city of Ilorin, about 500 kilometres from Abuja, the Federal capital. Ilorin, the Capital of Kwara State, is strategically located at the geographical and cultural confluence of the North and South with a land mass of 75,000 (approximate) hectare. Shut up and stop making noise jare! It is what everybody has known and it is non-argueable that ABU has the largest university campus in the sub-saharan africa while OAU follows....stop ur critics. |

lexiconkabir: wa iyaka! you are never allowed to forfeit, fard salat! you have to understand that Allah(s.w.t) didnt create man and jinn for anything else except to worship HIM, whatever else you are doing is secondary, so make sure you say your solats at the stipulated time, because Allah(s.w.t) Says "so woe to those performers of salat, those who delay their salat(from their stipulated times)"{suratul Maun:4-5}. however if you fear that you wont be able to pray asr till it expires due to EXCEPTIONAL REASONS, you can pray asr immediately after zuhr, although you dont have to make this a habit, you only do this when there is no other way, because Allah(s.w.t) says "Allah burdens not a person beyond his ability....."{suratul baqarah:286}, Allah knows best. thanks brother |
