Scholes007:Do me a favour. Do you have the result released so far? And who is winning? And the margin? |
Scholes007:No supplementary election in Obingwa LGA. 82k for PDP and 1091 for APga. The margin is much. |
Otti should seek redress in court. I don't think he can overturn the 83k margin. |
PassingShot:This is democracy. There is nothing like blackmail here. Pls lets have realistic hope. He doesn't have absolute power. Many of you will be disappointed after two yrs of buhari's tenure. Am a pol scientist. |

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressive Grand Alliance as winner of 26 seats out of 30 state constituencies in Anambra State in the State Assembly elections held on Saturday. INEC, therefore, rescheduled the remaining four LGAs in the state for April 18, 2015. Addressing newsmen in Awka on Sunday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in the state, Mr. Edwin Nwatarali, listed the affected areas, where the election have been rescheduled as Aniocha Constituencies 1 and 2, Aguata 1, Constituency 1 and Ekwusigo Constituency. “Out of the 30 constituency seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly, 26 have been declared; and they were all won by APGA,” he said. He said the Commission had to move the Ekwusigo elections from April 25, which was its initial scheduled date to April 18 following a recommendation from the INEC headquarters. According to him, the Ekwusigo Constituency election was cancelled after thugs made away with over 75 per cent of the total electoral materials meant for the Saturday election. He said for Uga ward 1 in Aguata, the number of voters exceeded the number of registered voters with Permanent Voter Card. For Aniocha Constituencies 1 and 2, Nwatarali said there was a deliberate attempt not to use card readers in the area despite certifications by technical personnel from INEC confirming the workability of the devices. “So, we are rejecting the result from these constituencies. Our card reader was working and yet over 80 per cent of accreditation was done manually,” he said, adding that the commission had enough technical personnel to address issues of such nature. http://www.punchng.com/news/apga-clinches-26-lgas-in-anambra-state-assembly-election/ |

In my dream few nights ago, there was total destruction of lives and properties. People were running helter skelter. Some youths were holding dangerous weapons. Massive killing everywhere. I don't know where this will take place but if we can pray individually and also collectively, God will listen and avert this pogrom. NB Am not a prophet of doom. #justaspecialgift4rmGod Below were my previous revelations. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State has called for the immediate suspension of the Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwan Akiolu, till after the governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state. The party, which tasked Governor Babatunde Fashola to effect the suspension of the first-class monarch, said it was necessary in order to guarantee free, fair and credible elections in the state on Saturday. Disclosing this in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Lagos PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Taofik Gani, the party noted that it had also alerted the security agencies to hold the monarch responsible for any attack on non-indigenes or PDP members in the state. PDP, which is the major opposition party in the state, regretted the silence of Governor Fashola on the matter more than 48 hours after the inflammatory statement and threat to life were made, stressing that it suggests that the monarch acted on behalf of the state government. According to the statement, “The governor is thus a conspirator in this threat to life and must also be held accountable for any violence in these elections. We have been vindicated about the desperation of the APC to retain Lagos State at all cost, including the All Progressives Congress’ plan not to concede its imminent defeat on April 11. “The positions of the PDP are coming on the heels of the now viral threat issued by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos that they must vote for the APC Governorship Candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, or be drowned in Lagos waters,” it said. The party however urged non-indigenes in Lagos to disregard the alleged threat to their lives and be a part of the April 11 voting exercise. www.dailypost.ng/2015/04/07/lagos-pdp-demands-oba-akiolus-suspension/ |
Nigeria’s President- Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday called on Nigerians not to expect miracles from him when he assumes power on May the 29th. General Buhari, who spoke with the BBC, said the war against insurgency is on-going, noting that “for five, six years, the Nigerian law enforcement agencies, including the military, couldn’t secure 14 local governments. “How can I promise miracles when I come? But with the cooperation of our neighbours, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and the international community, and the commitment we are going to get from the military, I think it will take us a much shorter time to deal with it,” he said. On his other major campaign promises to decisively fight corruption and unemployment, the President-elect said: “I made that promise and I hope Nigerians will give me the opportunity to see whether my effort will be good enough or not.” He, however, admitted that the tasks are enormous but would be dealt with. www.channelstv.com/2015/04/05/do-not-expect-miracles-buhari-tells-nigerians/ |
