Over two legs we scored just ONE goal and it was via a PK despite inviting one million strikers some of whom are among the best across Europe...what does that tell you? we NEED midfielders especially creative ones! going forward every Nigerian team list MUST have at least 6 midfielders (2 CAMs, 2 DMs and 2 box-2-box mids). We don't need an overload of strikers, just invite 2 CFs and 4 wingers. I'm not even a coach but it doesn't take rocket science to know how to tactically set up a team. |
The only way to dethrone APC and Uzodinmas well oiled rigging machineries in Imo state is for PDP and LP to merge together and produce one strong candidate that will give Uzodinma a run for his money in the November guber election, otherwise... |
Imagine Eberechi Eze in this midfield... |
Omeruo is our best defender, forget sentiments |
Blueelf:Esiti still dey play sef? |
The industrialization of the South East begins in earnest, no time to check time. Kudos to Innoson for leading in the initiative to revamp the glory of the SE. |
TheSuperNerd:Onyeka is a poor man's Ndidi...Onyedika and Alhassan Yusuf are the players that should take over that midfield role. |
The first half highlights my point about certain players Osimhen is our star boy but his lack of positional awareness is frustrating, always running into offside positions...I know you want to score so bad, but my goodness... Osayi Bright Samuel is a new born star for Nigeria, solid player who knows how and when to overlap with his intelligent and purposeful runs, he's turning out to be our best player. Omeruo is a rock of Gibraltar, this guy hardly puts in a wrong foot in the national colors, way better than Bassey and Ekong in my opinion, Omeruo and Ajayi are our most reliable yet overlooked players in that defence. Chukwueze...how does this guy play so well for Villarreal yet suck so bad for Nigeria? I just don't understand the guy, needs to be dropped. Simon Moses might not be a fans favorite, but he's a reliable player who works his socks off for Nigeria, you can't fault his tenacity. Iwobi remains our best player when it comes to doing the creative duties, he also tracks back and helps the team in defending, he's not JJ Okocha, but you can't fault his efforts, Iwobi deserves to have another creative midfielder to relieve his burdens (Eberechi Eze should step up for Nigeria). This team definitely needs more |
For the return leg tomorrow, we should line up a tried and tested defence, no more of this Bassey gaffes that might prove costly. I would hope Omeruo and Semi Ajayi start as CBs this time, to the best of my knowledge Omeruo has never put in a wrong foot for Nigeria whenever he plays...just unfortunate he has been largely overshadowed by the Balogun and Ekong partnership. Ajayi on the other hand is reliable in that role. full backs should be Osayi Bright and Bruno Onyemaechi (Zaidu should be benched). Midfield should be Onyeka and Ndidi to lock down and protect that back 4, while Iwobi plays CLOSER to the attacking cause it was inconceivable seeing Iwobi playing deep in the first leg! All this is all speculative of course because I don't know what formation Peseiro will go with, but he has to go with a more cautious yet attacking 4231 formation...play Osimhen as a lone striker and ditch this 442 rubbish. Osimhen thrives more as a lone striker, on the wings we might have to go with Ahmed Musa for his pace and experience and Chukwueze...if Peseiro decides to go with his usual 442, then just play Moffi and Osimhen together and we will score goals. |
Morocco is currently schooling BRAZIL, leading by a goal now. I haven't seen an African play with so much fluidity and swagger in such a long time than this Moroccan team, Nigerian football needs an emergency overhaul honestly, we need to massively invest in our grassroots and youth academies as feeders to the various National teams, enough on depending on ready made second-hand products from Europe who just see us as a plan B or C |
Honestly I'm at a point where I just don't care anymore, Nigeria has sucked the life and passion out of me that I'm left with nothing. Where do I even start from to vent? the whole problem starts from the coach himself, who scouted, interviewed and hired this brainless Portuguese fraud? those NFF officials that approved the appointment of Peseiro need to be questioned for treason and jailed for bringing Nigerian football to this ebb of unacceptable mediocrity. Anyone who watched the pre-match presser when Peseiro struggled to even articulate himself well in proper English when asked questions will understand why we have a fundamental problem in Nigeria...first question that inundated my baffled mind when I watched that joke of a pre-match presser was "How the hell does this man even communicate with his players on the training ground?", the slowpoke even justified his daft reasons for inviting yumyum fc players and inactive benchwarming deadweights into the team. NFF tacitly approved a clueless manager to invite ONLY 4 midfielders with Iwobi being the only one playing regular minutes at his club, Ndidi aside from been rusty is done as a player, he offers completely nothing...what happened to inviting some of the U20 boys to provide depth and energy in the midfield? I'm sure they wouldn't have performed any worse! Let's not even talk about the pathetic defenders we have, Bassey has blowed hot and cold at Ajax and Akpoguma has never struck me as a solid defender...I will bet the U20 pair of Ogwuche and Benjamin Fredericks would have put up a more gutsy performance than this overrated junks we have. No midfield, Osimhen tried but it was always going to be the same old story of all huff and puff with no end product, because he's playing with garbage (I bet he was wishing he was back playing with more cerebral players like Kvaratskhelia, Politano, Anguissa etc). Bleep NFF for finally destroying Nigerian football, if these charlatans had any dint of honor left in them, they should issue a official press statement apologizing to Nigerian fans for wasting our time, and then fire this Portuguese square-jawed junk coach, beg Finidi to take over the team on an interim basis and guide the team over the next qualifier series. Useless bunch |
vanitybutiwanti:He asked you a simple question and you're ranting off tangent, are you implying Uzodinma will easily rig the election because Tinubu is president? answer that question and stop chirping away like a automated BOT. |
Omo yorubas need to really travel outside of their region and learn the culture of other people, cause it's embarrassing that most Yorubas including their educated ones can tell an Igbo name from a South South name! |
And this is why I have a problem with Nigerian football, it's a conundrum of so many things wrong when it comes to that country and the way things are run...on what rational and logical basis are ONLY 4 midfielders still getting invited for goodness sake? a midfield completely devoid of any creative spark short of Iwobi who is at best currently a player that just does the basics with no significant trajectory of growth to his game...then are we going to talk about the abject form of Aribo who hasn't played a single minute in almost half a season for a struggling Southampton team? wasn't he recently demoted to the Southampton U23 team? I'm an Ndidi fan but when last was Ndidi even in good form for Leicester? it's either one injury or another for Ndidi who barely logs in regular minutes of football these days, same with Onyeka who is just barely just getting back into fitness for Brentford ...the most logical thing any SMART coach should have done was INVITE MORE MIDFIELDERS considering the unpredictable form of Ndidi and Onyeka, what happened to Onyedika? Nwakali? Samson Lawal? aren't there at least few decent midfielders in the NPFL that could have made the list for depth? honestly even one or two of the U20 boys could have been called up for depth...Daniel Daga, Onuche and the impressive Jude Sunday kid that scored two goals against Tunisia should have been called up! Can we talk about the invitation of Bamaiyi who was one of the least impressive players in the U20 AFCON tournament over a far more promising Benjamin Frederick who should be the next big thing in Nigerian youth football? is there some influential Alhaji pulling the strings behind the scene just to appeal to Northern sentiments in this team? which validates the unacceptable and inexplicable reason why a washed up player like Musa is still getting called up in 2023! this guy has served us well and we remain grateful for his services, but common! for goodness sake Musa should be a story for 2018...the guy has been done and dusted for over 5 or more years now, aren't we tired of recycling deadweights in this country? Why invite an unnecessary of wingers/forwards when just 4 attackers (Osimhen,Moffi, Lookman, Chukwueze) would have sufficed better? even if you were to pick more players in that position, why not invite players like Victor boniface, Chuba Akpom and Nathan Tella who are in form? why invite likes of Paul Onuachu who are tactical mis-fits to a team that already have established forwards anyway? same Onuachu is barely getting minutes in a struggling Southampton! So many things are just wrong with Nigeria right from our politics to our football, the rot permeates every facet of our socio-cultural life, and the one and only thing that gives me a sense of patriotism for Nigeria which is our football has been rendered useless like everything else...at least our music is the only salvageable goldmine we've got left. I'm tired of venting jare. |
Blueelf:Bros make we dey take am easy with the jonzing abeg lol, I know you're speaking from a lens of patriotism but to suggest France and Germany aren't stacked in attacking options is disingenuous. France have the most complete strikers in the world, their depth is the best! Mbappe Nkunku Olivier Giroud Kolo Muani Griezmann Ousmane Dembele Kingsley Coman |
Surely it's not an over-stretch to claim Nigeria has one of the best attacking force in the world in terms of depth and quality? only Germany,Brazil and to some extent England are ahead of us. Osimhen Lookman Moffi Gift Orban Chuba Akpom Nathan Tella? Victor Boniface Awoniyi Iheanacho. When will fortune finally smile on us and give us world class midfielders and defenders? |
Imo state whom are we voting for come this gubernatorial election? Who's the LP candidate? |
But all I see everywhere are threads on Obi, Obi, Obi, na only Obi contest for election? what's the hoopla about trying to "mock" a man who had the balls to run on a party with absolutely no national spread, yet few months later won 12 states including the FCT and Lagos and built structures across all regions overnight, which current politician in Nigeria can pull it off? Tinubu won, congrats to him but give it a rest already with the Obidients this Obidients that rants, if Tinubu government does well everybody will enjoy it including Obidients, if he fails like Buhari did for 8 years, everybody will suffer it equally. Give it a rest and move on, life goes on with or without Nigerian politics. |
The emergence of Obi, this election and to some extent the Tinubu factor has permanently ended the control and stranglehold of PDP over the East, the SE have slaved for PDP for several decades and they couldn't even reward that region with the presidency, rather they gave the ticket to an overrated Atiku who has lost more elections than any political figure in Nigeria's history, all this after the SE stayed loyal to PDP for more than 16 years! the insult is just too much, see how Tinubu rebuilt APC by forming a merger with CPC under Buhari and today the SW are the biggest beneficiaries of that merger in 2015. What were our Igbo SE leaders doing all along? absolutely nothing ...imagine if PDP had zoned the presidential ticket to Obi with its existing structure, Obi would have done even better than he did with LP (and he did exceptionally well with LP of just few months ago). Honestly may God punish PDP for what they've done to the SE, maybe APC winning this election is a blessing in disguise to finally bury PDP for good as a national party. The next step now is to make sure PDP is permanently voted out of the SE in the upcoming guber election, LP have won several seats in the major constituents already, it's time the SE create a new political consciousness and build themselves up under a new bloc and political identity, and maybe LP is that party to revamp ourselves. This election will permanently retire useless SE leaders like Ikpeazu, Uzodinma, Ugwanyi, Umahi, Orji Uzo Kalu etc and a new generation of SE leaders who will have the core interest of Ndigbo at heart must emerge from the ashes of a failed leadership that has left us with nothing after giving them our all. Never again shall this affliction arise in Alaigbo. |
THEY WERE KILLED BY HERDSMEN AFTER COMING BACK FROM POLLING UNIT YESTERDAY.https://www./558086838101862/permalink/1319621451948393/?app=fbl

It's obvious with APC aren't relinquishing power anytime soon, honestly we failed in this election and it's looking like LP under Obi are am emerging force in national politics with all the structures they've formed including capturing Lagos, an merger with LP (this time on LP party terms seeing as they might displace us as the new opposition force) is the best way to make sure APC doesn't make it past 4 years, Atiku seems to be done politically, Obi is now an emerging force in Nigerian politics and he will need a very strong PDP alliance to destroy APC once and for all. |
I actually like Asiwaju and if he wins, e go pain me for body but I'll get over it in a few days and hope PDP plays the opposition party with more seriousness...Tinubu presidency doesn't worry, what worries me is Kashim Shettima, that man has the face of a cold and calculated schemer with lots of hatred in his heart, he will be the one controlling a frail Tinubu and telling him what to do and what policies to implement etc...I really dread an APC led government again tbh, the deaths and suffering under this administration have been unprecedented |
KillSars:Like your mother you degenerate pig! Atiku is winning this election |
Thank you Obi, keep reducing the votes for Tinubu, Atiku needs this! |
LegendHero:For a APC stronghold state that's an embarrassing showing! |
Atiku will win Kastina and Kaduna, Tinubu isn't getting any bloc votes here |
Note that these people are not even Igbos |
