Gunmen attacks: Umahi threatens to deploy Ebubeagu to Benue Governor David Umahi: threatens to deploy Ebubeagu security outfit to Benue Gov. David Umahi has urged the Benue government to form a replica of the Ebubeagu security outfit to protect a village inhabited mainly by Izzi natives from Ebonyi in the state. Umahi spoke on Wednesday when he visited the village known as Nwori-Ndi Obasi Village in Ado Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue which was attacked by gunmen on 30 May. The attack, which left some persons dead and many wounded, was stopped from spilling over to the neighbouring Okwofuruike and Odoke Villages of Ebonyi LGA by a combined team of security agencies and Ebubeagu security outfit. Speaking during the visit, Umahi said Ebonyi Government may be forced to deploy Ebubeagu to Benue if the state government failed to set up an outfit to protect the people. “These are Ebonyi people paying their taxes in Benue and should not be abandoned. “We cannot ask security agencies from Ebonyi to protect the people in Benue, but we will deploy our youths and the indigenes to protect them. “I want to restate that the incident did not occur in Ebonyi or within the buffer zone of the boundary with Benue. “The incident affected Ebonyi indigenes living in Benue for over 100 years and if they wish to belong to Ebonyi, the Benue people should allow them,” Umahi said. He donated N5 million to victims of suspected gunmen attacks commiserating with the wounded victims, who were still receiving treatment at the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki. He said the government had set up a committee, headed by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Chief Francis Nwifuru, to ensure adequate care for the victims. “The committee will ensure adequate feeding of the wounded persons and those displaced during the attack, including medical expenses and shelter. “I have directed the hospital’s Chief Medical Director to do everything possible to stabilise and treat all the victims. “They will not leave the state in a hurry as we will ensure adequate security before they return to their homes,” the governor said. He described the attack as barbaric, saying it should be condemned by well-meaning Nigerians. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2021/06/02/gunmen-attacks-umahi-threatens-to-deploy-ebubeagu-to-benue/amp/ |
The lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, has called on security agencies in the country to, as a matter of urgency, intervene in the killings of natives by suspected herdsmen in four communities in the area.https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/senator-lampoons-security-agencies-inaction-over-benue-herdsmen-killings/%3famp

Coldshisha:Honestly the only reason why we lost that war was because the Yorubas and the Middle belt soldiers made it possible, at the initial stage of the war it was a East vs North shoot out and the Biafrans were wiping out the dumb Hausa soldiers along the Northern border of Biafra, we were winning the war until Ojukwu made the fatal mistake of invading the West and getting the Yorubas who were mostly neutral involved, that was the major game changer in that war... but this time the shoot out will be a North vs East affair so we can settle our scores with them once and for all, thankfully the Middle belt who have suffered massively in their hands won't join them this time... I just hope Yorubas maintain a dignified neutrality so we can even the scores with our historical enemies - the North once and for all. |
Ebenezer2021:The massacre took place in Benue state and was done on Benue Izzi indigenes even though they speak a dialect of Ebonyi due to boundary proximity. ESN were responsible for flushing out the Fulani strongholds from Ebonyi after the last killings, a feat Umahi in his cowardice and irresponsibility took credit for by crediting the success to his fake Ebube-agu. |
Sincinnati:I completely agree with this submission. |
Tinubuadvocate:If you mean Deltans then you have to be specific, it's only your Itshekiri brothers that will prefer to be with yorubas in the event of a dissolution... you will be delusional to think any other Deltan group will want to be in your oduduwa Republic. |
CardiNice:You're not making any sense... Firstly where's your statistical proof that 90% of Delta igbos go to schools and Polys in Abraka? and even if that were the case, how does that correlate to the tangents of my post or make us less Igbos? bros drop that Kwale weed wey you dey smoke abeg, you can go with the Yorubas if you want but please do well to exclude Enuani from your madness. That we have a good relationship with the Yorubas doesn't mean we stopped been Igbos all of a sudden, stop this nonsense abeg. |
One clown will just wake up and start spewing concussive nonsense from his ogogoro-addled brain cells, I'm a proud Enuani man and I have absolutely no socio-cultural affinity with yorubas, many Deltans grew up in the South west especially Lagos, Ibadan and Ondo (Urhobos especially) because we were once under the Western region and as such its normal to integrate with the yoruba society, I can't speak for other Delta groups, but please Enuani have always been profoundly proud of our Igbo roots and you won't see any trace of Igbo denial in the Aniocha/Oshimili axis, if you want to divide us with our Igbo kinsmen and roots with this garbage post then you've failed woefully. Secondly the Ukwuani are the ones closer to Urhobos not us, the Ika are closer to the Benin, while the Urhobos who are the largest single ethnic group in Delta state are an Edoid proto-group. The only people close to the Yorubas are the Itshekiri. Lastly you will be stupid to think a proud Edo man with his rich historical background will be under Oduduwa Republic, don't dare go to Edo state and say that nonsense because Uromi boys go design your destiny with heavy beating. |
Monogamy:For real though, the attack on government facilities and security personnels was very out of place and unnecessary in the first place... now the whole East has been militarized and people live in constant fear of the worse... the UGM have already made their mission and point clear about police/military brutality (we understand their grievances even though they went too far), now it's time to go back to the drawing board and make smarter decisions. If you want a war so badly, then plan smartly for it like civilized people with brains do, instead of putting other people's lives at risk for no reason. |
colorsofrainbow:Stop been daft, no sane person will want destruction and death in his own land because of Biafra, that's just plain dumb. |
After all episodes of needless violence, destruction and unrest over the past few weeks, it appears (and I hope and pray this is the case) the UGM have realized the folly of destroying their own region, needlessly wasting lives on both sides and making life miserable for the peace loving Igbos... apparently some sections of the country seemed to be enjoying all the bloodshed going on in the East - at least judging from how every event was over-dramatized on Nairaland and even Twitter by some people who seriously wanted the military to go all out and carpet the whole East if need be, without recourse to thecivilians who would be massacred, but God pass them. I just want peace to be restored in the East, as an Anioma boy with my strong Igbo pride and love intact , it breaks my heart to see my brothers turn their beautiful region into another Borno, I can't imagine how a whole Owerri with arguably the best nightlife in Nigeria probably next only to Lagos, has now been turned to a complete ghost city... I want the vivacity, energy and glamor of my Owerri back! no more of destroying your public properties and the mindless killing of security personnels (most of whom are our own Igbo brothers and sisters), I hope and pray we don't hear of any UGM madness in the East Bikonu Umu Nnem... ESN/UGM should use this period of inactivity to re-strategize, have some sober reflections lay low and covert and return to the original plan to flushing criminal herdsmen from our rural communities and forests as they were doing before with remarkable success before they somehow derailed into something else. God bless Alaigbo Your brother from Enuani heartily greets you all. |
His name was Lt. General Ihejirika, under his command the military not only recorded immense success in the fight against BH, but we witnessed how thousands of BH terrorists were slaughtered and they couldn't even gain a foothold on Sambisa as they've significantly done now... but as usual the North hated to see an Igbo kill their "people" so they cooked up various allegations of corruption charges against him that haven't been proven in court till date, some even claimed Ihejirika was avenging the Biafra war by killing lots of BH terrorists... Like can you imagine?!!! after Ihejirika was removed and replaced, everything went downhill from the point onwards, now BH have blossomed into a more deadly sect with their eyes on Abuja within dangerous reach. |
You're under your bed yet you can see everything happening outside including the UGM approaching the town... |
Juliusmalema:Blah blah blah, you want to cry? cause I've got several buckets for you ;DMentally unhinged fa**ot stop following me around, I don't swing you way you cross dressing weirdo!
|
Csami:You dey mind these end time alarmist, Owerri dey bubble jare! the nightlife here is second to none despite the presence of security personnels. |
Juliusmalema:You're a known to be an unstable and shifty individual on here, I believe your true duplicitous character has been bursted on here several times, so me proving anything to you is as much useless as it can get. |
That's because the North (even though they might not want to admit it) have always been mortally scared of the Igbos... Igbos are the only people that have ever stood up to the bullying lunacy of the Fulani North in Nigeria, they couldn't even break the will of the Igbos to checkmate their hegemonic tendencies during the Nigerian civil war even with massive backing from super power nations. So what you're seeing now from the likes of Malami, the CCT chairman etc who are supposed to be elected government officials making unguarded and flippant statements against Igbos shouldn't shock you... it should make you take solace in the fact that the Igbo man even when he's not bothered, is a terror to some people. |
Juliusmalema:Weirdo stop following me around, I'm not gay. |
Joromi1:Yaribastard Benin refugee pigsty scum , you can bet I'll post enough pictures of the beautiful city of Owerri and it's women to add to your painment ![]() Ala Owerri ![]() |
And I don't see UGM killing anybody I see some military and police checkpoint in few locations especially in the busy areas, but they are not hostile to anybody... they've been very courteous and respectful to motorists etc.. I'm not seeing tension anywhere or people looking pensive, all I see are people looking animated, walking around and going about their business I see nice tall buildings, hotels, new Federal secretariats, industries, nice roads everywhere I hear Owerri music blasting from shops nearby I see nice cars, and beautiful Owerri girls with big nyansh. I don't see war, bloodshed or violence as the dangerous media over-exaggerates. I'm from Delta state and once I'm done with the contract I'm here for, I'll be leaving in the next few days but I'll be taking pictures of the beautiful city of Owerri before I return. The enemies of Igbos who pray for war, violence and bloodshed shall never prevail, it's your own regions and fathers abode that shall never see peace. |
This is the same thing I've seen saying FOREVER but it seems the daft IPOB goons just don't get it, I don't know if they're suffering from the "cult followership" syndrome we see from a brainwashed set of people that fanatically follow a delusional but charismatic cult leader (in this case Mazi Nnamdi Kanu), that they almost turn to zombies that have to abilities to take a step back and reason on their own. But i hope that's not the case and that there's still some silver lining of hope amidst this madness of tagging every damn Non-Igbo minority into this struggle, all the time wasted on minority groups who have insulted you, threatened you, begged you, and have done everything possible to make you know they want no part of your "Biafra" should have been used to uniting all the Igbo nations in the SE&SS, even the ones with acute identity crisis like Ikwerres are still divided on a 50/50 ration as regards their stand on where they belong, but we don't need the Ikwerres and that ship has long sailed.. but we still have core Igbo groups from the SS who have never denied their heritage, I come from Aniocha part of Delta state (same place with Ned Nwoko), and I can authoritatively state right now that the Aniocha/Oshimili people are 100% Igbotic to the core even though a few are not very sure about Biafra yet. Why can't we focus on just a Igbo nation and conduct a referendum for ONLY the Igbos in the whole SS (with the exception the Ikwerre and maybe the Ika/Ukwuani people) and just wrap this whole thing up once and for all? I can guarantee that at least 70% of the Igbo subgroups in the South South will agree to form an Igbo nation with their SE kinsmen! why we dey waste time? see how useless ogogoro tribes like Ijaws creek dwellers that still use Kai-Kai to rinse mouth after eating insulting the Igbo nation like say we be mates...very soon una go get sense, and I hope it won't be too late by then. |
EdoDefence:Wait a second.. when did you stupid Bini perditious idiots began to identify as Niger Delta? Edo isn't even geographically a Niger Delta state, una no even get a pin drop of oil, neither is the cultural orientation anywhere close to the Niger Delta. If anything you are wanna-be yoruba subhumans who still bask in the glory of some expired, overrated and fetish empire that practiced human sacrifices to ward off the British invasion, yet got sacked in just a matter of days, your useless Oba Ovoraemen (or however the fucck his name is spelled) ran away into exile instead of staying back to fight and die for his people. I just laugh when I hear Edo people insult Igbos about been dragged into Biafra, not even the most deluded Igbo man will ever think of mingling with yoruba cast-aways like you... like apart from international level prostitution in Libya, Italy, Lebanon Germany where your women shamelessly suck the shriveled d**ks of some old white geezers for peanut cash, witchcraft, cultism and wicked Bini women who kill their husbands early and inherit their properties... what else are you Oba ato kpe ee chanting losers even good at? guy no dey embarrass yourself here, allow the true Niger Deltans to speak... go join your Oduduwa senior brothers if they will even agree to accept you recalcitrant pigs back. |
So you're telling me that, That old man Three malnourished looking kids One hungry looking adult And a small girl Have all been kidnapping able bodied individuals with no weapons? If you ask me something doesn't add up here ![]()
