to Europe or America but that her dad insisted that she should take up this job. I smiled and told her that the job was not bad and that she could still travel out later after gaining some experience.

"You seem to have answer for everything," she teased. Was that true? I thanked her for the compliment. We played game after game. We felt at home with each other and it was as if we had known each other over the years.

"Won't your girlfriend miss you in the next few days?" Sharon suddenly asked.

I grinned grimly. "No. There was an issue between us and we are presently not on talking terms."

Sharon sighed. "What about you? Surely, your boyfriend will miss you."

She stared at some tiles before answering. "Right now, I don't have a boyfriend."

It was my turn to sigh. We played the game on. By seven in the evening, Miss Rose knocked at the door.

"Dinner is ready!" she called out.

How time flies. Sharon and I suspended our game and went to the dining-room. A hot meal of poundo yam, egusi soup and beef was served.

That very day, I remembered locking the door before I went upstairs to meet the landlady." Mariam nodded. "Yes, that is true." Slowly, she dipped her right hand in the pocket of her jean trousers to bring out a bunch that consisted of three keys. "I found this in the toilet about three weeks ago. It dropped on the floor and I picked it. I expected you to ask me if I saw a key. You obviosly had a spare one which you could use and you have been using. I should have returned the key, but I decided to keep it. When the mischief of the missing bra came last week, I decided to put the key into use." She put the key on the centre table. Another couple of minutes later, madam returned.

I opened the pack and poured to fill the two cups.
“We’re going to have a visitor tomorrow,” she announced.

I paused in my sipping. “What visitor?”

“My second daughter, Mosun, will be arriving from the U.K. She schools there, but they are on holiday.”

“I see. She’s welcome.” Her daughter was the least of my problem, I thought.

“I hope the two of you will get along fine while she’s here.”

I shrugged and grinned. “I have no problem getting along with people.” She smiled and nodded.

“Of course, you will get along well. She’s a likeable character.”

I nodded. Again, I thought her daughter was the least of my problem. We continued with our drinks till Zaynab came to inform that food was ready.

We left for the dinning-table downstairs. As usual the meal was sumptuous. We rested downstairs a bit after the food before we returned to the bedroom upstairs.

As usual, Madam Helen and I had a very hot sex session. I taught her new tricks. One the ones I learnt was making the woman to lie on her back and in a very comfortable posture. I put a pillow under her buttocks and her back for extra comfort.

I then raised her legs in the air, spread them comfortably, and bent her knees. I was on my knees, in between madam's legs. I had learnt that the man was going to use his knees, not his arms, to support most of his weight; and that it was important that his center of gravity should be in his hips.

This would minimize muscle tension in the man's torso. It would enable me to fully relax my muscles during the exercise. From this vantage position, I penetrated my waiting partner. I always gave it to her hot and sizzling.

Every day brought with it new trick. On Wednesday morning, as we took tea before I would depart for my office, she reminded me about her daughter.

“Mosun will be coming in this morning. The driver will be taking me to the airport to bring her home.”

I nodded. “Yes. She’s most welcome to Nigeria.”

After the tea, I took my briefcase and drove to the office. The traffic was already building up and I spent more than the usual time on the road. At work, I threw myself to it and forgot about other things.

After noon, I remembered Kween. I would soon have to send something nice to her to know that I still had her on my mind.

Crime"I Hired Assassins To Kill My Brother Because Our Father Trusted Him More" by kweensheba(op): 7:23am On May 23, 2020
I arranged my brother’s killing because dad trusted him more than me – Kaduna kidnap suspect

If someone had told Kadade Abdullahi that his blood brother would be the mastermind of his death, he wouldn’t believe.

But that was exactly what happened to him around 11.30pm on March 21 when his younger brother, Ibrahim, hired some assassins to murder him.

According to Ibrahim, who is currently cooling off his heels in police custody, the only offence Kadade ‘committed’ is that their father trusted him (Kadade) more than him (Ibrahim).

The suspect, 20, was recently arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team attached to Operation Puff Adder at Kateri Annex in Kaduna State.

Ibrahim and his late brother were said to be indigenes of Amana maiKasuwa village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was in the village that the police operatives, upon intelligence gathering, arrested the suspect and one Hassan Amadu, 22, with the support of local vigilantes.

Speaking with City Round during the week, Ibrahim said he belonged to a gang which specialised in armed robbery, kidnapping and cattle rustling.

He stated that he hired assassins, with the help of his gang members, to kill Kadade because their father trusted his late brother more than him.

He cited that recently when their father sold cows worth N1.7m, the money was kept in Kadade’s custody.

He said this angered him, so he approached Amadu, a native of Rinji village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State and explained to him of his intention to kill his elder brother.

Ibrahim said Amadu helped him to hire four assassins, identified as Kiri Jumare, Auwalu, Nakaduwa and Yellow.

The suspect said after the arrangement was concluded, the assassins invaded his late brother’s residence, where they killed him.

Ibrahim said, “My brother sold some cows for my father and made N1.7m. He came back and started making a noise about it. My father was happy about it and asked him (Kadade) to keep the money. I expected him to share the money between us but he asked my brother to take it to the bank the next day.

“I was so broke that day and asked my father for money. He started insulting me and asked me to learn to be responsible like Kadade. I was bitter and immediately called Haruna (Amadu) and told him about the money in our house.

“I told them (Amadu and the hired assassins) to come that night and kill my brother. I thought that his death would make my father allow me to control some of his businesses. That night, around 12 midnight, about five of them came. They knocked on my window as a sign to let me know that they were around. They searched everywhere for my brother and when they found him, they killed him as I instructed. My father was devastated but I consoled him that it was Allah’s wish.”

The suspect narrated that when the day broke, he went to the bush to meet the gang who told him that they only found N300,000 on Kadade.

He said, “I collected N100,000 as my share of the money since I was the one who brought the job. It was later that we learnt that my brother kept part of the money in a safe in the market.

“The police came to our residence and arrested our neighbours because they all knew about the money Kadade made from selling father’s cows. They were later released and my brother was buried and I thought the matter was over.

“I was surprised when the police came back with Hassan (Amadu) and arrested me. I am terribly sorry and hope that my family will forgive me. I now regret my action.”

Further narrating why he was embittered towards Kadade, Ibrahim said among his father’s children, his late brother always got special attention.

He said, “My father is married to four wives and has many children. I don’t know what is special about Kadade. I was never sent to a regular school but Arabic school in Kaduna. It was only Kadade that attended primary and secondary schools. My father said it was not necessary for the rest of us to go to school and that he wanted all of us to become farmers. Yet he kept calling us illiterates who could not speak English.”

Also speaking with City Round, Ibrahim’s accomplice, Amadu, said his father sent him out of the house when he was 15 years old to learn how to rear cows from one Alhaji Sani because his father had many sons and unable to train them all to rear cows.

Amadu said the agreement was that at the end of each year, Sani would give him a small cow until he got enough to leave and start his life.

He said it was in the process of rearing cows in the bush that he met one Haruna who exposed him to how to make money selling his master’s cows without him knowing.

He said, “I knew Kadade well as a hard-working and generous man. I never wished him dead. We found only N300,000 in the house and my share was N40,000.”

Meanwhile, the police said they had launched a manhunt for fleeing members of the gang, adding that the suspects confessed to have committed armed robbery and kidnapping in Kaduna State.

CrimeSoldier, Others Arrested For Killing Undergraduate by kweensheba(op): 6:04pm On May 22, 2020
A soldier and other suspects have confessed to killing a 22-year-old undergraduate, Micah Isiah, after collecting N800,000 in his account, so that “our image will not be dented.”
Our correspondent learnt that Isiah was a student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

One of the suspects, Ifeanyi Nwaiwu of the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering, Makurdi, Benue State, said he ordered Isiah’s killing after he received N200,000 as his share of the money collected from the victim.
A member of the gang and a military deserter, Godson Chimezie, 28, said they ran into Isiah while he was inflating his vehicle tyre.

He said, “We saw him while he was pumping his tyre in Owerri and we sensed that a small boy like him driving that kind of vehicle must be a Yahoo boy. We quickly accosted him and I took his phone, went through it and discovered that he was an Internet fraudster. We immediately kidnapped him on the pretext of an arrest.
“We took him to our hideout and the young man agreed to pay N800,000. We collected the money, but Corporal Ifeanyi Nwaiwu of the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering, Makurdi, insisted that we must kill him. According to him, the man would dent his image if he walked away alive.

“I regret everything I have done. I know I deserve to die, because I have done wrong. I didn’t plan to end this way, but I only plead for mercy. We didn’t plan to kidnap him. We just ran into him.”
Parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, said the gang members were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command.
The CP said, “On May 10, 2020, at Udi in Enugu State, SARS operatives arrested four kidnap suspects. They are Godson Chimezie, 28, from the Nwangele LGA, Imo State; Emmanuel Amadi, 28, from the Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo State; Innoson Udeze, 45, and Eze Simon, 23, both from the Nsudu Udi LGA of Enugu State; and Lance Corporal Ifeanyi Nwaiwu of Ogwa in the Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, a suspected serving member of the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering, Makurdi.

He was a lecturer at the Economics Department of the Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru campus.

“Okay,” I replied.

“See you.”

I waved at him and stepped inside the building. In my room, I changed from the NYSC uniform to a t-shirt and bum short. Then, I lay on the bed to take a nap.

On Wednesday morning, I woke up early to pack my things. Since I would be traveling by road, it was better I set out early. Habib did not come around until few minutes to seven.

He took me to the park where I would get a sixteen-seater bus to Lagos. He was with me until the bus filled up.

“Don’t forget to be giving me calls from time to time,” he said. “And of course, I will constantly be calling you too.”

“Sure I will.”

The driver started the bus and we started the journey.

Its was a long trip in which we crossed Kaduna, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Osun and Ogun States before getting to Lagos. After about eleven hours, I alighted from the bus at Ijora. Oh, what a long, tedious journey it was.

I took a cab to Akerele, Surulere, where my parents lived in a two-bedroom apartment. My twin sister, Mary was expected from Akwa Ibom where she had gone for her own national service. I met Becky, my younger sister and my mum in the house.

“Lovette!” Becky exclaimed on sighting me. She came to give me a bear hug.

“Hey, easy, Becky,” I cautioned.

“Weren’t you eating well over there?” Becky went on. “See how thin you are.”

I quickly checked my self. “Is that so? I thought I’ve gained some weight.”

“Becky, why don’t you allow your sister to rest before barraging her with questions?” Mummy said. “Get her something to drink, for God’s sake.”

Becky soon came with a plastic bottle of cold water and a glass cup. I took it and drank gladly. Becky was all over me, asking about my experience and how the service fared.

Later in the night, mum, dad and I discussed the next line of action.

“I need a job,” I said. “I will have to start job-hunting.”

Later, to kill boredom, I would watch some movies on my i-pad. Around five p.m, there was a gentle rap on my door.

I went to open it, thinking Ms. Rose was there. It was Sharon I met at the door. "Hello," I greeted.

"Hi," she replied and showed me the game of scrabble she was holding. "I got this from Aunty Rose. Do you want to play?"

Scrabble was a game I loved to play so I did not hesitate to ask her to come in. I offered the only chair while I sat on the bed. I then drew the stool to wedge us.

"How thoughtful of Miss Rose to have this," I said.

"Yes, how thoughtful," my guest echoed.

I noticed that she had changed from the formal dress she was wearing to a casual of t-shirt and jeans trousers.

We started the game. Sharon set the tone of the conversation, asking me sundry questions such as where I came from, what I studied in the univesity and my interests.

I answered her and asked the same questions. I could sense that she was not as reserved as I had thought. She told me she would prefer to relocate

There was I white paper inside, wrapped round a two-hundred dollar bills. He scrawled a short note on the paper:

This is for your weekend, my darling Queen. You will forever remain the queen of my heart.

I couldn’t believe this. What kind of game was the guy playing? He had left me in the lurch now for many days without any form of communication whatsoever. Now, he was sending some money and proclaiming love.

I dropped the envelope and the contents on the table and allowed some seconds of thoughts. Richard thought he was smart, I thought. He was with a woman who had probably given him this money.

He wanted to have his time with her and at the same time retain my affection. In other words, he wanted to eat his cake and have it. That would never happen.

I was supposed to ask him to choose between me and his sugar mummy, but he had already obviously made his choice. If he thought he could use the money to sway my affection, then he was making a big mistake.

RICHARD

The first weekend I spent with Madam Helen was blissful. Since I came back from work on Friday, she hardly allowed me to leave her presence. The weekend looked like a vacation in a luxe suite.

She pampered with exotic food and wines. In return, I gave her all the physical needs she wanted.

By Tuesday, I had spent a week with her. I still did not feel like calling Kween. I knew she must have got the message and little something I dropped with Omon to give her the other time, though she had not called me to acknowledge nor thank for it. It was okay. That should serve as a good compensation for my absence for now.
Some few minutes to six, I arrived the house from the office.

“Welcome, sir,” Zaynab said, coming to take my briefcase.

“Thanks.” I loosened my tie. I went up straight to the main bedroom upstairs. It was the bedroom I had been sharing with Madam Helen. She was in the kitchen, but she soon came to join me.

“Hello, Richard darling.”

“Hello, my sweetie.”

I gave her a short kiss.

“How was your office today?”

I nodded. “Everything was fine. How about the school business?”

She nodded too. “All was well.”

I removed my clothes and stripped to only boxer.

“I will ask Zaynab to bring some apple juice for us pending the time the food will be ready.”

“Oh, that will be very fine.”

She left the room. I flipped the television on. I prefer to watch the television there than going downstairs to the main sitting-room.

Some minutes later, Zaynab came in with a tray containing a pack of apple juice and two glass cups. Another couple of minutes later, madam returned.

I opened the pack and poured to fill the two cups.

“We’re going to have a visitor tomorrow,” she announced.

I paused in my sipping. “What visitor?”

He realized he shouldn’t have said that. “What I mean is your friends are always as beautiful as you are,” he put in apologetically.

I shrugged.

“You still want to travel down to Lagos by Wednesday?” he asked.

I nodded. He had asked several times and I had always replied in the affirmative.

“How I wish you will stay. If only you can exercise a little bit of patience, I will secure a better job for you.”

I was quiet. There was no need I argued with him again. Some days ago, he had told me he had got a job for me with a firm belonging to his friend. He had said the job was Administrative Officer and it was with a farm company.

A farm company!

To start with, I didn’t study anything related to Agricultural Science or Agricultural Economics.
How then could I fit in working on a farm?

“You would actually be working in an office,” he had explained. “It is a big farm company that is into dairy and chicken products.”

Whether it was in an office or inside an ultra, modern plaza, there was no way I would tell my sisters or friends that I was working in a farm company. I could imagine what Becky’s reaction would be.

“So, Lovette, with all your university education, you would end up working on a farm!”

How cheeky Becky could be. Some of my friends would most likely tease that I would soon become a farmer’s wife.

Ah, I would rather avoid that. Now, Habib was promising he would get me another job. I appreciated his gesture, but I would rather go to Lagos and continue my life there.

Doing the national service for a whole year in Zaria was more than enough.

He drove straight to Chindit Barracks and to the premises of the NMS. He was soon parking his car in front of the gate to the quarters where I stayed.

“I need to report to the office now,” he said. “Later when I close, I’ll be back.” He was a lecturer at the Economics Department of the Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru campus.

“Okay,” I replied.

“See you.”

I waved at him and stepped inside the building. In my room, I changed from the NYSC uniform to a t-shirt and bum short. Then, I lay on the bed to take a nap.
