PoliticsOperation Python Dance Has Lost Credibility - Group by Kyliegame(op): 7:12pm On Sep 14, 2017
A pressure group, National Vanguard for Good Governance has called on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Buratai to cancel the operation python dance that is billed to commence in the south east tomorrow.

Speaking with irukkanews, the president of the organisation, Comrade Henry Wilberforce said the reason why he is calling for the cancellation is because it has lost credibility.

He said following the atrocities that the soldiers perpetrated in Aba and Umuahia, there is no way the Nigerian Army can convince the people that it means well.

Wilberforce said the videos making the round in the social media has carpeted Nigerian Army brutish, cannibalistic and demonic.

CelebritiesGod Gave Us Running Okra Mouth - Monalisa Chinda On Domestic Violence by Kyliegame(op): 4:11pm On Sep 13, 2017
While speaking as a guest on The Other News, a satirical show hosted by comic-actor Okey Bakassi on Channels TV, Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda said actresses don't talk about their sexual harassment experiences over fear of stigmatization. The actress was speaking out against domestic violence and sexual harassment actresses face in the movie industry.

While noting that she’s never been a victim, the gorgeous mother of one said:

"It’s a bit uncomfortable for someone to come out and say I was cornered to sleep with a producer because of a role,”

"They keep quiet about it because of their careers. Apart from that, the society stigmatises these women. So you just swallow your pride. When you are outside the shores of Africa, women are heroes for coming out to speak about sexual abuse, but not here.” she added.

Speaking further, Chinda also urged women to quit "provoking” their husband.

"As much as I detest all forms of violence against women and men, women should quit provoking their man by beating punches and slaps," she said.

"I’m a domestic violence [enthusiast]. I always research when I hear fresh stories about domestic violence. Half the time, it is the women.

"God just gave us this running Okra mouth. Women, don’t fight with people who are stronger than you.”

The length at which most people can go to on the internet just for the popularity is alarming and annoying. A young girl by name Ayanfe Bassey today uploaded pictures of herself supposedly dead on Facebook to the shock of her friends.

Her shocked friends who paid their condolences in one way or the other on her page were even more shocked when a Ayanfe uploaded more photos of herself in perfect conditions and said she was very much alive and was just playing around with 'Angel Death'. How foolish can someone be really?

PotatoSalad:
Thanks OP
Who is to blame for the floods in Nigeria, The Government who constructed little or no drainage systems or The Citizens who refused to clean up their surroundings?
It's too sad that many of our loved ones get caught up in it every single day...just September and it's that bad, remember we still have two more months of heavy rain before harmattan.
Brace yourselves and watch this repeat again in 2018, 2019, 2020...cos it will.
I don't think now is the right time to start apportioning blame. We all are guilty
CelebritiesBenue Flood: The Hypocritical Nature Of Nigerian Celebrities By Intriguing Lone by Kyliegame(op): 1:53pm On Sep 01, 2017
It’s really beautiful when we get to see how the outside world rally around and offer support to each other in times of need and what irks me most of the time in these scenarios (More like an ugly head spoiling a beautiful picture) is when I see our own Celebrities or prominent men and women who love attention trying to champion the cause, offer prayers (#Pray….) when back home in Nigeria they automatically go on a dumb mood when such or similar issues arise.

Now, I will take the case of HurricanHarvey and the current flood in Makurdi into perspective. Americans are currently witnessing a very deadly flood called HurricanHarvey which has rendered thousands of people homeless and killed close to 40 people as at yesterday. When the news broke out, so many people (Including our shameless Nigerian celebrities) showed concern on social media and prayed for the safety of the people in that region. It’s good to care for one another, that’s the basics of humanity but when you do it for the attention, for the gram, it kills the purpose of the whole act. Before looking to help someone outside, check if you have helped everyone in your own house. Matt 7:5 talks about removing log in one's eyes before trying to remove another person's own, That scripture could also be interpreted to mean, first help everyone around you before seeking for who to help outside.

We read of how Americans dragged a Pastor, Joel Osteen for not opening his doors initially to the victims of flood, can that happen in Nigeria? Rather in such cases, you will find hundreds of people who will be prepared to defend a man, a ‘Daddy’ they know nothing of what he does in his closets (Some will even tell you they live in the closet with him). So far, no church in Nigeria has indicated interest to help the people of Makurdi despite the news about the flood making major headlines since. We are seeing how American celebrities, companies and prominent people in the country are rally round to offer support financially for the victims of the flood, despite the financial help, others are using the charity foundations to offer help too. Everything doesn’t have to be done by the government.

Now back home in Nigeria, all those Nigerian celebrities that were raising their voices on social media for HurricanHarvey (Before #DebolaLagos blasted their hypocritical nature) have gone dumb on the same issue happening in Makurdi. I have not seen or read any news of any Celebrity showing support for the people of Benue state especially those in Makurdi. Same flood, hundreds of people are displaced and homeless, people are dying. The likes of Tuface (From Benue State) and other celebrities, companies, prominent figureheads have kept quiet. I read of how Beyonce who is from Houston, Texas sprang into action right from day one of the flood helping people with her foundation and have also donated a significant amount of money. Most of the celebrities in Nigeria have charity foundations, but you never hear of them using those foundations to help people in times like this, they only surface when they want to use them as a face to launder money or during campaign period. Even if they do not have money to give (Which I doubt), they can lend their voices, spread the word out and get the world to notice the present situation. Social media is not all about you showing off your Gucci’s and seeking validation from fans. Help those fans too in situations like this.

I checked your page...not telling you what to do tho, but leaving ur Nigerian Vpn address may not really be wise... There are countless native English speakers out there on fiverr and you're expecting them to chose a nonnative speaker to write their articles? It just won't hold water.... If you're sure of ur stuff, change your vpn or better still find another niche where language may not really be a barrier... #justAnOpinion... P. S... Change that native English language thing you added on your profile, everyone knows Nigerians are not native speakers of the English language. Peace!

It's no news that the much celebrated marriage between Ooni of and his wife Olori Wuraola has crashed. Though both parties have come out to debunk, every evidence points to the fact the marriage has indeed ended especially the fact that Wuraola is now based in Lagos instead of her husband's home and also the fact that Wuraola was missing in action beside the Ooni at some ceremonies he attended recently which is usually not the case in the past.

There were rumors that a new Olori was already been picked for the Ooni and it seems those rumors. Though the Palace is yet to officially announce her arrival, the Ooni now has a new Olori. and below are her pictures. It seems the Ooni has a type because looking at the new Olori and the old one, one will notice a similarity in their looks

This is the Ooni's third marriage and second since he became the Ooni of Ife.

LiteratureA Time That Died - A Short Story by Kyliegame(op): 5:16pm On Mar 16, 2017
We died together.

It was on a Saturday, wrapped into each other when the building came down. We had just made up from a week long fight, talked long into the night, and he proposed. No ring,no fancy dinner or talk. It was on the bed, in his dingy bedroom on the tiny 3rd floor apartment.

"Let's just get married. We are as good as married anyway." He said matter-of-factly.

"I'm Yoruba. Your mother hates Yorubas. You're broke. You earn thirty thousand naira a month. You won't take money from me. I can reel out a hundred reasons.

"I was trying to stall, I had seen the glint in his eyes, one that meant he wasn't going to change his mind.

He just snorted, and with one bullish arm swung me to his chest. "We'll get married, tomorrow if possible. " I almost choked on the laughter, as I gurgled in delight.

So we started to iron out the tiny details, over stale sliced bread and margarine. I watched him nibble at the bread with the slight sneer that said he was only eating it because he had to fill his belly, my Somto never liked bread. I still remember his bearded face that night.

He agreed to move into my apartment. To allow me fund the wedding, things his alpha male ego wouldn't normally allow him agree to. He just wanted to be married. Like he had a premonition.

We must have been asleep only an hour when the deep rumble of concrete giving way started. I heard it, somewhere in the deep of my fuzzy sleepy mind, but I didn't wake up. I must have thought it was rain and thunder. Somto must have too, but we died together, under the rubble of the collapsed building.

My body was revived, but my spirit had gone with Somto. They said he protected me even in death. My limp body was retrieved from the embrace of his corpse under the rubble.

Six years later, I am married, with two kids but I died with Somto, that Saturday morning.I'm just this dull woman who rarely laughs and whose smiles never touch the eyes.

One morning I see him, Somto with a pronounced limp, his hair plaited in neat corn rows and a thin scar running down the left side of his head. He looks much bigger too, not fatty bigger, muscle bigger. Biceps bulging and visible beneath his blue shirt. His beards were gone, a smooth jaw in its place.

My skin sprouts goose pimples, my head seems to grow bigger. I have no idea what I am seeing. Has Somto become an 'akudaya'? Or is it just creepy resemblance?

FamilyDomestic Violence: The Need To Preach Divorce In Marriages by Kyliegame(op): 6:23pm On Mar 14, 2017
These days, no day passes without one hearing of a horrible sad case of domestic violence or two, and the most fearful part of it is the fact that victims of domestic violence usually do not speak out or ask for a divorce at the initial stages of it till they are almost battling for their life and this largely to the sad reality that the Nigerian society frowns and looks down on divorced or separated couples especially the women. This morning, I read the case of a woman whose husband broke her two limbs after he mercilessly beat her to a pulp and locked her up for two days without medical attention, claiming that she was having an affair with a 16 year old boy.

In Nigerian daily, the rate at which domestic violence is on the rise is alarming, people need to be made to realize that there is always an option of a divorce. Covering up the bruises in the bid to save face or shield the abuser will only make things worse. Honestly, I really do not know who to put the blame on. I don’t know if I should blame the legal community or the government. The legal community- for most of the times they have left the culprits of domestic violence go free with the flimsy reason that ‘it’s a family issue’ and so should be settled at home between the families involved, and this is at the expense of one’s life, or the government for not setting up ACTIVE organizations to handle domestic violence issues. Even the NGO’s that say they handle Domestic violence cases turn out to be practicing the very thing they claim to be against. Recently, the media was filled with the horrible and pathetic story of a star actress who suffered domestic violence in the hands of her husband who has one of the biggest NGO’s against domestic violence in the country. In Nigeria 95% of domestic violence related issues are not paid attention to until it results to death of one party or a near death situation.

The sad but true reality to this effect is the belief in almost all the cultures in Nigeria that it is socially acceptable to hit a woman in order to discipline her. In fact I have seen cases where young wives who seek help and complain of their spouses being violent towards them are turned back by their parents, society and told to endure it for the sake of their homes. No one tells a woman to divorce a man who hits her in Nigeria until it’s too late and these are the kind of knowledge that the male folks in Nigeria are aware of which empowers in their own way. Now, with this knowledge at hand, some men take pleasure in hitting their wives because they know, she will always be scared and ashamed to speak out and when she eventually does, she will be told to endure for the sake of building a home and no one will penalize him for the wrong acts.

Accepted, marriage is not a bed of roses, but then, it should not be a bed of thorns spread out by the husband. There should be a line that should not be crossed. The legal community and the government in Nigeria need to revisit the laws against domestic violence, resound the option of divorce and begin to see and handle it if possible, more as a psychological disorder because the violent behavior of some men if checked properly are deep rooted in their subconscious and most of it springs from the times that they have watched their parents fight, father hit their mothers without being punished for it and the silent and helpless manner their mothers endure the abusive acts and so, when these young boys grow up and get married, despite telling themselves to do and be better than their parents, they end up towing in that same abusive paths and see nothing wrong in it.

A gender equality bill was swiftly rejected by the Nigeria National Assembly recently despite the fact that so many people rose to push for its reality, and though due to the backlash received from the general public, the bill has been reintroduced in the Senate, looking at the number and caliber of prominent and top people in the society who spoke against it, I fear that bill might not see the light of the day.

Now this is just one of the so many reasons why domestic violence in Nigeria is mostly overlooked and pushed aside, giving the male folk the leverage to carry on with their abusive behavior towards their wives. The society needs to be made aware of the importance of divorce in such situations. The unspoken stigma attached to divorced women especially need to be addressed and broken.

CelebritiesOh My! Rumours About Lilian Esoro's Marriage Crash Are True! See This by Kyliegame(op): 11:55am On Nov 05, 2016
I have been holding my breathe ever since rumours about Lilian and Ubi's marriage crash started circulating in hopes that they are all lies and that the young couple who had one of the most elaborate and expensive wedding last year were just playing with our minds or even seeking attention since it seems both their respective careers have presently taken a downturn. But sadly and obviously, all the rumours about actress Lilian Esoro's marriage to MMMG boss Ubi Franklin that is said to have crashed barely a year after that expensive wedding are surely true.

Now, ever since the rumours started circulating, Lilian's husband, Ubi Franklin has tried so hard to hold the front and behave like all is well, even on November 1st which was their first wedding anniversary, Ubi tried to act like the marriage was still intact and posted a wedding anniversary message to his wife Lilian on Instagram even though she never acknowledged the day or reciprocated his act, but now, it seems he too has given up on the marriage ever working.

First, Ubi that has been wearing his wedding band even Lilian reportedly ditched hers a long time ago suddenly removed his wedding band and have been seen in recent days without it, and this is clearly seen on his pictures on Instagram. Secondly, Ubi Franklin today posted a cryptic message on his Instagram page along a photo of him clearly without his wedding band. The post was about adult's decision affecting little innocent children.

This clearly says that the marriage sadly is officially over. Check out what he posted below
