In fact I was under the influence of alcohol ordinarily I wouldn’t have killed my uncle who took care of me. I have never quarreled with with my uncle before, honestly I don’t know what came over me, may Allah forgive me. I now realized what I have done to my life, I am a fool”, he lamented . A Nigerian, Julius Olawale Oluwagbenro, who allegedly posed as an engineer among others lies to enable him get American Visa, has been slammed with a life ban by American Embassy According to reports, 46 year-old Oluwagbenro confessed that his attempt to get a visa at the American Embassy on Tuesday was his fourth. He had thrice been rejected, but this fourth time got him a life ban. Oluwagbenro allegedly told the Embassy that he attended University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, where he studied Electrical Electronics and claimed to have once worked with Procter and Gamble. Oluwagbenro also claimed that he was going to the US for the burial of his uncle, who died of cancer in New York. He then further lied that he was presently working with Unilever as an engineer, with a monthly salary of N657,000. Recovered from him are some documents believed to be fake. One of the documents is a police letterhead, stating that Oluwagbenro had a damaged passport and that the Embassy should, “kindly render any assistance he may require”. Another document is a First Bank statement, showing that Oluwagbenro had N6.2 million in his account. The item which, however, nailed Oluwagbenro was the phone number of the contact person he was supposed to meet in America. The Embassy discovered that the phone number of the contact person had been used for over 190 applicants. While Oluwagbenro’s documents showed that the contact person lives in Brooklyn, New York, the owner of the number lives in Chicago. While confessing, Olawagbenro said; “The truth is that I wasn’t the person that filled my visa form. My agent did. I was not even aware of most of the information he filled on the form. A new study published On Monday, March 27 says scientists may have just discovered a new organ in the body which no one knew about before now. According to the report, the new organ discovered is called the interstitium. The interstitium is a network of fluid-filled tubes all around the body which could act as a shock absorber. Sadly, this organ could also act as a conduit for cancerous cells to move to different parts of the body. However, knowing about it could lead to new treatments and better understanding. If it is indeed an organ, it could be the biggest of 80 in the human body, found under the skin and also lining veins and arteries, muscles, the gut and every visceral organ. Previously, scientists had seen it but believed it was made up of dense connective tissue. When slides were examined that’s what it looked like, because to make a slide the fluid is drained away as part of the process. Its true nature was realised during a routine endoscopy looking at a patient’s bile duct. Doctors noticed what looked like a network of capillaries, but clearly couldn’t be that because it would have picked up the fluorescent dye they were using. Previously, we knew that there was fluid between cells (known as interstitial fluid) but it wasn’t thought to be contained in a network like this. New York University pathologist Dr Neil Theise said: "This finding has potential to drive dramatic advances in medicine. This includes the possibility that the direct sampling of interstitial fluid may become a powerful diagnostic tool. Once tumours get in, they’re like a water slide. We have a new window on the mechanism of tumours spreading." MORE: http://www.irukkanews.com/new-organ-discovered-in-the-human-body/

quite sad I must say. So many things wrong in this administration |
A civil society activist and the president of Rights Monitoring Group (RMG), a coalition of 45 civil society groups, Comrade Olufemi Aduwo has said that the reason the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is giving for registering under age persons in the northern parts of the country is very shameful. Recall that the Director of Publicity and Voter Education of INEC, Mr Olouwole Osaze-Uzzi had said during a programme on the African Independent Television, titled Kakaaki that the reason the registration officers were registering under age persons was because their lives were been threatened by some members of the communities. According to Aduwo, by such admission, it means that INEC has succumbed to blackmail and intimidation and thereby put the integrity of the 2019 general election into question. He said what it means is that 2019 general election would no longer be free, fair and credible since the would be umpire has giving in to intimidation. According to him, INEC has nothing else to tell Nigerians about free and fair election since they have shown that might is right. He said that under age registration is the only reason why the north is feeling that it is them that decides any national election in the country. According to him, when it comes to the south, INEC would stick to international best practices but in the north, they throw standard to the winds and allow the leaders to decide what happens. The Civil Society activist called on the United Nations to take special interest on the role INEC is playing because 2019 would be very crucial to Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. "I am short of words. How would you begin to respond when you hear that the Director of Publicity and Voter Education of INEC had admitted on a national television that the reason why they are registering under age person in the northern parts of the country is because the lives of their officers are being threatened by some members of the communities. Do you know the implication of that? It simply means that impunity is now reigning in the country. Might is now right .This has put a serious question mark on the integrity of next year's election. The umpire has admitted that he has compromised, so how can you trust the outcome of an already prejudiced contest. The only thing that I can say is that the international community should come in and save the country from going into blazes come 2019.” Aduwo said http://irukkanews.com/under-age-registration-inec-claim-of-threat-to-life-shameful-aduwo-p4157-95.htm Lalasticlala

The actress who played Louisa in the famous classic movie "The Sound of Music” Heather Menzies-Urich has died of brain cancer at the age of 68. Menzies-Urich played Louisa von Trapp in the classic 1965 movie, alongside six other "von Trapp children.” She was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme about a month ago, and her health declined rapidly, her son Ryan Urich said. He said his mother died on Sunday, surrounded by loved ones at a family home in Canada. "The most important thing was my mom was an actress, talented dancer (and) really avid in arts and theater. She had this unbelievable network of friends” he said. The actress was a teen when she played Louisa, who famously tried to trick Julie Andrews’ character into believing she was another sibling, Brigitta. She married actor Robert Urich in 1975. After her husband’s death in 2002, Menzies Urich founded the Robert Urich Foundation, which raises funds for cancer research. Menzies-Urich is survived by three children and eight grandchildren. http://irukkanews.com/sound-of-music-actress-louisa-is-dead-p3623-95.htm

Advice needed please! |
dayleke:Thank you |
Hello guys, I am looking for an advice regarding a case I intend to file a lawsuit on. Mr. A contracted Mr. B for c contract, Mr. A made part payment before the job commenced and there was a deadline. Now along the line, Mr.B defaulted in delivering within the deadline. The project has so far been completed with a satisfactory remark from Mr. A and in use presently. Now, Mr. A has refused to pay the remaining balance and it's been weeks now. The next line Mr. A is using now is that he has an called external body to review the project. Note that Mr. A has started making profit from the project completed and a document that signifies project completed and handed over has been signed. Reason I want to take this up legally is because, Mr. A has been playing on Mr B's intelligence, gender and age wise. I don't think anything concerns Mr. B with the external body that are to review the project since he has marked it complete and already making profit from it for over two months. I need advice from learned minds please. Thanks |
