Lol, I saw it coming! Only 3days ago I predicted this quote below. Congrats dear Lady. You were overdue for it. The smile that came to my face as I read the breaking news has simply refused to leave, infact as I type this, it's degenerating into short bursts of laughter. Go and prosper in your new nation. You've been such an influence and blessing. And indeed, only your PPR aside ITA day posts could add 3more pages in a space of 6hrs that I went away on break...

Thank you

Post ITA or post-AOR? Add your spouse post-AOR not post-ITA else it might affect your scores calculation. After adding her post-AOR, you can mention it in an LOE. No need for refusal letter, they would find out the reason during BG check.

@pension funds yes

World Marshall Day!!!

Massive Congratulations!

Quick one.

Please how does one treat Visa refusal for accompanying spouse, post ITA? Is there a need for LOE or one just uploads the refusal letter?

Can accompanying spouse gift 25% of pension fund to PA as part of POF with a letter attached to the reference letter and statement gotten from the PFA?

Please assist.

Thank you

First, let me say a big thank you for your wishes and prayers since I first announced. I’m so overwhelmed as I type not just because of the happy shock of PPR but also because I never expected the outpouring of love. Thank you. I really appreciate you all.

Second, to those post-AOR awaiting PPR, please check your emails even as you read this script. Golden email can come at anytime like play. Only two nights ago I was so depressed at the thought of CIC, I ate only once, had a sleepless night, woke up yesterday expressing my frustration in group chats early morning until 9.05am and from nowhere, golden email came in at 9.06am. There is hope.

Timeline:
ITA: March 20
AOR April 14
Mep/BIL passed May 29 (and 1st ghost update)
June 16 Second ghost update, known as Casper signifying transfer from Sdyney to a local VO
Called IRCC to ask of my VO June 17, told me Vienna. Vienna VO sent me an email directly that day to tell me they’re my VO and all enquiries should be addressed to them directly (they attached a specific format and subject title)
Emailed Ralph June 27, no response
Order GCMS July 25
Emailed Ralph again August 7, replied that day. Eligibility, criminality and security not started
GCMS arrived Aug 26, Eligibility, criminality and security not started but I saw detailed notes by program assistant and case processing agent so I knew work was going on in the background even though it said nothing started.
Emailed VO directly Aug 27 to complain of those obsolete comments in gcms and said I’m happy to cooperate. I just wanted to blow dust. VO replied that my complaints has been noted and assessment is still ongoing.
3rd ghost update Oct 3
PPR October 9
Family of one

Now the story:
Decision to relocate to Canada: Dec 30 2018. Two months before then, I had resumed my PhD immediately after my Masters and was ready to settle fully in my current country and got a new bigger apartment. But two months into my doctoral studies, I wanted out. The German academia was not for me and I knew it. Also the PhD route I took showed no clear path to residency. I saw two PhD candidates sent home after 4-5 years because they couldn’t secure a full time job in their field on completion. Mogbe! I felt weak. There was no way I would go back to Nigeria without papers to show for the struggle. I decided I would prioritize my residency and sort it out before I could fully concentrate on my research. I reached out to my mentor and we had a big fight on the afternoon of Dec 30 2018, he suggested a residency route I could not take. So there I was, alone that night cracking my brain on how to deal with my immigration quagmire, my main headache was: how do I convince the immigration office that I want to walk away from the PhD program, return back to industry full time without indirectly asking them to boot me out of their country since my residency terms was based on the program? I have seen them fight PhDs attempting to leave their program prematurely despite having committed employers willing to give them permanent work contracts.

I decided to forget my issues and say hello to my dear friend @Eshay whom I had not spoken to in a long time. That night, she told me about EE and how far she was in the process. She sent me some links on Canada.ca and introduced me to this thread. I simulated my scores and was shocked I qualified. But I was very very skeptical about Nigerians getting this opportunity. Some Nigerians in Germany I knew had tried switching to Canada many years ago and failed after 2 to 3 years of application waiting time. I also did not believe in the impartiality of the EE program. Germany has a provision for fasttrack work visa which is theoretically open to all but behind the scene, they favor North Americans, some South American and Asian countries, while discriminating Africans and Middle East. In fact, there is a program in place encouraging Africans, Middle Easterners and some Baltic country citizens in the country to voluntary relocate to their home country for a small fee irrespective of their status. So despite the CIC information, I did not believe Nigerians really got PPR. “It was too good to be true”, I told my friend. When she saw that I was a doubting Thomas, she sent me some PPR stories here to read, that was in part 6. That was when I believed. I kept telling her in surprise “see o, Nigerians are really getting it, it is real” [s]You now understand why I have sworn to defend the PPR story section with my last blood as long as I live[/s] grin. I could not sleep that night. That an immigrant would be granted permanent residency on landing, touch down, was (and is still) unfathomable to me. Especially experiencing firsthand the struggles of temporary residency. “This is gold”, I told myself. That very night, I registered and paid for IELTS, opened a WES profile and paid, found my NOC and finished part 1 and 2 of this thread, making notes. The following weeks until end of January, I spent my free time reading parts 4-6 until the current page at that time as a silent reader, making notes.

IELTS: My friend told me how writing was the humbler of men/women and how an 8 in listening was non-negotiable, sent me materials and gave me tips. I also read ielts tips on this thread and started practicing for a month and two weeks. Wrote the exam on February 14, panicked the following week but God was faithful. See my IELTS testimony here

ECA: Foreign Masters degree. I waited two weeks because of the christmas/new year break and contacted my school second week of January. It was free. They sent it out the next day and it got to WES after two weeks via post. I skipped the verification stage and Wes delivered March 14. Added my Bsc and MA certificates in the placeholder.

ITA: CRS score was 456. ITA came comfortably some days after ECA. See my chant here grin How times have changed. Score that I was flexing muscles with suddenly became a struggle score undecided

Proof of Work: Reference letter + cash salary certificate. My former company was so cooperative. HR asked me to draft them and send. Got them back within two weeks in CIC format. I was paid in cash so I used this It was modified by HR, signed and scanned to me.

NOC: Mine was straight forward. NOC 1123. I listed all my duties and cross matched with those on the website to ensure proper fit. This was newmum’s advice. I used 8 roles all matching.

POF: Bank letter + 6 months Savings Statement of account. My bank gave me an annoying generic letter in black and white non-IRCC format with black and white stamp and unclear digital signature, telling me that is the best they could do, quoting yeye bank policies. I attached LOE explaining that that letter was original, even though it is black and white. I attached email correspondence as proof showing the back and forth communication with my account officer requesting the letter. I added my 6 months SOA highlighting my monthly income and some lump sums I received for research funding here (had to explain that in the LOE). I will always be grateful to God for letting me hear of EE when I did. Before then I had other plans for that money, first to furnish my apartment grand style, get a really nice car and place the rest in some long term investments, but I thank God, I didn’t, I personally froze my money immediately and rediverted all funds to the Canny journey.

Medicals: To be proactive I booked medicals a day before ITA. But out of doubt and fear that I may not get ITA, I moved it a month later (a move I regretted during the wait). I did medicals April 9, few weeks post-ITA.

PCC: I submitted Nigerian, Danish and German PCC. The first two were easy, I got them same day. The German authorities confused me and almost made me get the wrong one. I used my guts and CIC instructions to decide on the right one and submitted. This also wasted my time post-ITA, as I got the German PCC in 3 weeks, I underestimated the hassle the German authorities would give me to get their PCC and the time it would take to process and receive it.

Post-AOR: The wait was a rollercoaster of emotions.
Month 1 and 2: Anticipation was high, excitement that PPR will come hopefully in 3 months. But some applications were getting cancelled at R10 check so the fear was also circulating in groups. I spent the time cross-checking and recross-checking my documents. I raised 3 CSEs. The first was to add the fingerprint page of the Nigerian PCC (unnecessary). The second one was to explain why I answered yes to the medical statutory question (unnecessary, what fear can make someone do? chai grin). The third one was to correct a date in my travel history and enquire of my file progress. During this period, I also eagerly researched life in Canada on Quora, Canada visa and the sister thread of which I am partially still a silent reader cheesy I read about getting jobs, weather, housing, social life, raising kids, networking etc, making notes and placing each aspect in separate google docs. I have over 10 google docs for different spheres of my life in Cannyland yet I can assure you from experience that that country will still shock me despite my self-assumed preparedness grin I’m excited still and look forward to the challenge. To kill time, I took some online courses from the University of Toronto and University of British Columbia. You could sense my energy on the thread at the time.

Month 3 and 4: This was the worst period. I felt a rush of negative emotions: severe anxiety, depression, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, indifferent. I was constantly scared of refusal especially for my NOC and work experience. I doubled checked with @cmamma and @Topsmamen who certified them ok. Yet I was so restless. I’ve never had to wait so long for a life-changing decision with my hands tired, not being able to move forward or backward. This was also the first time my plan B to Q was inside my plan A. Every other plan revolved around and depended on PPR. I guess my psychological state of mind was trying to adjust to the reality of a longer wait. I cried sometimes, punched my pillow at night, vented at myself why I applied for EE, then prayed. To fight the negative feelings, I took a two-week vacation to Italy, I wish I can say it helped, it didn’t! I was still thinking about CIC. I also spent a weekend with a friend to avoid thinking of CIC but we ended up discussing my anxiety grin I emailed Ralph and his response was depressing: nothing initiated. I also ordered GCMS in the 4th month, and it really calmed me. Although nothing was started, the case processing agent note made me realised work going on in the background and it gave me hope.

Month 5: Calm. I was finally adjusting to the wait. “It’s going to be alright. PPR will come when it will come” I told myself. But one night, I had a relapse: severe panic attacks and sleeplessness and decided to put my thoughts into a poem shared here But aside that night, most of month 5 was calm. I kept busy and tried to distract myself.

3 weeks to 6 months: I visited my family in Naija for two weeks. It was such a short visit but I had to save my POF. The food, music, family bear hugs, my dad’s prayers and my mum’s energy gave me strength. Momsy had already started making plans for cargo even without PPR yet grin The night before I returned back to Germany, I got ghost update (Oct 3). It was evident PPR was knocking. I expected it to show on Oct 4, but nothing, Oct 7, nothing, Oct 8 nothing, I couldn’t sleep and decided to vent on my whatsapp group the next morning and voila! PPR strolled in...Despite the mental torture I went through during the wait, the PPR feeling is indescribable. I pray you all experience it. It's out of this world.

Special shoutout

Shout out to my darling friend turned sister @Eshay. You are the real MVP. Thank you for showing me the light and being my offline support. I love you. Can’t wait to rock our new country with you and your family. Perhaps one reason why I try to patiently answer questions, was because I was in that shoe, only that I didn’t ask them here. @Eshay was my page one initially. Every time, I ask funny questions, she will answer first and gently tell me “Read page one”. I no no say na subtle jab at my ignorance, until I became fully involved in the thread. Lol. Notwithstanding, I still advice research. Nothing beats personal conviction based on informed personal research.

Shoutout to my parents. They were and are my pillars: their constant reassurance and prayers kept me so strong. Words cannot express my deepest gratitude to God for giving me them as my guardians. They are angels in human form.

@Topsmamen is my real G. He never stopped checking and asking how far, constantly reassuring me that my PPR was by the corner, thank you for being so strong on my behalf even when I showed weakness. As I gave my strength to the thread, he gave me his. Thank you. You have a good heart.
@Wasseynewest, boss! I hail o. Thanks so much for checking up from time to time. I can’t wait to meet you and your gracious family in Canny.
@Stencil darling. Thank you for being my strength and checking up regularly. I am eagerly waiting for yours and our Canadian tour kiss
April/May AOR whatsapp group, I love you!!!! You are the best. This group is so bubbly, positive, funny yet so focused on the goal. It’s filled with so many resources (from our business/IT guru, to our sticker king, to our food mama/planner to prophet to information resource acumen to our honorable VO, to our all amazing ladies, dapper dudes, dandy husbands/fathers, capable wives/mothers, everyone of them who are so amazing). Thank you for making me laugh so hard despite the tension, thanks for sharing your knowledge on the processes and life in canada, for aiding my planning and research, thanks for fighting and yet forgiving so easily. I am waiting for y’all PPRs soonest and can’t wait for us all to transit to settling in Canny. Same goes for Feb/March Whatsapp group, thank you so much, amazing Boom thank you for being so positive and prayerful during the wait. You were my silent source of strength, even though you didn't know. Sometimes I wondered how you can be so positive and spiritually focused despite the delay and tough wait but you are special and I am seriously praying for your PPR, VO would not rest until he/she releases it.

Shoutout to you all here. You made the wait worth it. Because of the anxiety and fear I was losing eagerness to continuously engage on the thread. Sometimes I tell myself I won’t engage anymore to save my sanity, but staying away also affected me, I always returned especially when I remember the very active seniors on the thread and how their selflessness helped me, I pulled strength. And each time I came here, I always felt better both by answering queries and reading funny posts and the fights too grin Shoutout to all the active seniors on this thread who are here and who have moved on for the effort you put to make this thread a success, I had lost faith in Nigerians in diaspora in their ability to do great stuffs as a collective. This thread changed my perception. Thank you. I respect you. Shoutout to all the silent readers on this thread who are promoting the thread offline and bringing new ones to the ministry. Y’all are MVPs too. This thread is special, I have made amazing friends and networks who I hope I will meet in Canny. Let’s preserve the effectiveness of the thread as long as we can.

Shout out to all who have taken their time to write detailed PPR scripts and dealt with my marking style grin Sorry if I hassled you. Now I know it's not easy. I had to force myself to finish up my script because I was determined tonight would not pass me by without posting it. So thank you and for those getting PPR, please keep sharing. It remains a source of inspiration to those on this journey.

My watch for PPR has ended but my wake has only begun. My hustle and struggle would continue in my new country, albeit with more robust rights, opportunities and a more familiar language. I pray for PPR for everyone who’s still patiently waiting at any stage. God would bless your efforts and grant you your heart desires.

@ bold, you don’t qualify for EE. Even if you go through the self-employed route, Uber driving is not NOC A,B or O.

Please I need your kind guidance to start this journey. My major concern is that I am 36 with bsc in insurance and have no work experience in the last ten yrs. I also have NEBOSH which i dont think is valued. I Currently drive on uber platform. I am looking at going the province way through EE if I am not mistaken.
Please is their anyway you can assist me figure out the right Noc to follow. How to know what MY POINT is.
I will be so greatfull if una fit help me on this notwithstanding una tight schedule. I tried using the CRS calculator and I landed on 391.

Leave it at 28k, your POF money must be untouched until PPR. You would still spend out of the 40k for related expenses so your POF can’t be 40k

Mercy0419:
Pls for a family of 5 I quoted that I have $28k while creating profile but hubby transferred $40k because he wants me to pay the application fee and other expenses with my account. So should I correct it and quote $40k or I should leave it at 28k. I don't know if this is part of misrepresentation.

Hey boss! Wow! Thanks for saying hello here after a long time o. Your big shoes are still empty and really hard to fill grin
I can update the hall of fame as I mark the scripts. Makes it easier. But if others have indicated interest and are active too, they can. That way the burden is shared. Either option works fine.
I would like to nominate @yemblaze @stencil @iaamatguy or @Tina26 they’re very active and committed here, if they indicate interest by replying the post.

A big challenge is consistency. My PPR marking assistant just abandoned me after one month despite indicating interest but no hard feelings cheesy grin The best person should be pre-AOR or new post-AOR peeps. I notice post-PPR peeps tend to move on very fast from this thread and older post-AOR (5months and older) tend to get tired of the wait and lose some energy to engage here. The wait can be tiring.

Hope settlement has been fine and your family is adjusting fast. I wish you the best life has to offer in Canny.
joo2018:
Hiya,

The spirit is willing, but there are only 24hrs in a day. With settling, work and family demands, some things had to give way.
Only a moderator can close a thread, but you don't really need permission to start a new Express Entry thread once 500 pages has been reached. You will need to format the page 1 details and be ready to update the "PPR Hall of Fame".

I also think that the thread will be better served with someone who is currently active. If an active contributor is willing to commit the next 3 months to updating the PPR Hall of Fame, I'm willing to guide that person.
If we were nominating, I will choose @ladymarshall as she is the current "boss" in the house. If she is willing.

I’m sorry for using the word “misinform”. Thanks for the clarifications and information.
yokus:
https://www.migrationlaw.com/application-refused-consider-request-reconsideration/

You can request a reconsideration or leave for judicial review

Atleast wait for a response before assuming that I am misinforming. I recently worked on a judicial review for a Nign applicant's work permit and the Lawyer stated that it applies to express entry too, very limited days to request after the refusal though. Obviously, you must have concrete reasons.
I also just reconfirmed this information with a RCIC, at least these are two Immigration professionals.
Have a great day

If they still don’t give you, add LOE and write “I have no debt, loans, or liens on these funds. They are accessible and available for me to withdraw at any time”

raylady:
Quick question about proof of funds, I have collected my bank statement, the bank gave me some random reference letter that just says the day i opened the account and that i am the sole signatory and nothing like the sample i gave them from page 1. I have asked them to send me a letter of non-indebtedness since they didn't give me any sort of clean bill in the reference letter. Do you guys think i need this?
Thank You.

Ok I get you now. You would have clarified better now. Not all of us are lawyers here. Lol. My initial comment was nothing personal smiley
yokus:

That was straight from my Immigration law textbook.
Not everything is misinformation. There may be more than one options to seek relief. Most people use immigration lawyers for this.
Any way wetin concern me.

Ok got it.

mamaroon15:

The information is correct. Requesting a visa officer to kindly review/revisit/reopen your application based on information that was missed or an update you can provide etc is not an “Appeal” in the sense of Canadian immigration law but a request for reconsideration.
What you are referring to is not an official Appeal but a reconsideration by a visa officer and they are not under obligation to accede to the request if they don’t want to except they realise they missed something and it can be grounds for you to get a Judicial Review.

It depends on if you’re hard or soft landing. Only you can make this decision. Or if you’re hard landing and you’re very sure of when you would visit again, then you book return.

Please can you share the website where you got this information. I couldn’t find this anywhere on platforms online or on the Canadian government websites. I also need to see the date when this law or policy was passed. People have been appealing PR refusals even until last month and VOs have reopened their cases. I’m not sure this info you shared is recent and authentic except you can prove otherwise. I also believe the VO has some measure of discretion and independence in their immigration decisions. Let’s not misinform people here and cause them to take a wrong decision if they’re refused. Share your source.

For information purposes. You may apply for Judicial review on refusal. No one will need to by God's grace

@bold might have been right, only if there are no longer PNP nominations and if the young people applying now do not give their younger siblings, sibling points, which is unlikely. I think those are the two factors that keep the scores so high.

canadaman18:

Considering today was for 3900 , I suspect rest of the draws this year will be same which will for sure lower the points into at least the 450s range.

Divert your prayers into Liberals winning the election because they have said they will likely increase targets for the next 4 or so years , increased targets = more ITAs = lower cutoff score.

As in, you searched all 8 parts and didn’t find a straight answer to this? grin Check page one or use the search bar

Good evening gurus in the house.
I have been seeing contradicting news about ND and HND being regarded as two or more certificate. Is this really true?
Has anyone with ND and HND alone met the cut off point for PR in recent years or even on this thread. I need testimonies from those who actually made it using their ND and Hnd.

I need clarity from gurus on this forum. I know the question have been asked here a million times but none of the answers are straightforward.
I will appreciate straight answers...

Thanks

Congrats again and thanks for sharing your experience.

So happy you were paid in cash for a work experience and still got PPR most recently. At a point, I was almost doubting my eligibility for using paid in cash experience, like maybe CIC has changed gear grin

You score 7.5/10. I wish you the best in Canada
