I never said so bro. So if this were a comprehension question in an exam worth 20mks, y'all would have failed with ease. Nawao. Nigerians and their wayward logic.

More like flawed not wayward logic.

Correct use of words is a sign of good comprehension so you would easily score F9 in use of English.

Contextually you had implied that Nigeria is better than the USA if the USA is a poor choice for relocation from Nigeria.

Otherwise you should let him be and keep your opinion to yourself.

2023 will make it 30 years since June 12 annulment. Time travels really fast (I dey pry 5 that year).

Abiola may have been a good choice in 1993. But for a better Nigeria don't vote APC next year.

Business / Re: All You Need To Know About Palmpay Android Pos And How To Get It by LagBlogger(m): 12:08am On Jun 07, 2022
No one should take palmpay seriously.

They have horrible customer service and their machines are low quality, network downtime is common.

I lost a lot of customers when I mistakenly bought their POS machine and many debited transactions of customers that till date have not been resolved even after their banks told them the money is still with Palmpay.

Don't waste your money with them. Try Opay or Kudi. They have better customer service and network.

You must be single/unmarried!
The average married woman put her phone in her bag. The phone might ring like 5 times before she picks it.
Secondly, you are not one of her inner circles of gist mongers therefore you will not receive priority in call-back.

Sorry bro!

And this makes perfect sense? Like another human being is not important enough to deserve a call back especially a colleague?

What this trend shows is that Nigerians lack innovation. See the same ideas being repeated. Pos, forex, etc

To Op Cutecharlz ,only you can decide what you want. What are your interests?

Take something in that line, go out and meet companies to learn. It doesn't need to be paid. Network massively. For you to save 500k from 65k shows you're a smart individual.

No business brings Quick cash and you may be disappointed the one you do fails. So I'll recommend you learn and grow.

If you feel its too much then try your hands at any business.

Enjoy!!

Oga business is about practicality. What works not what looks fancy.

Innovation is only necessary when being competitive and trying to outshine your competition.

No need to reinvent the wheel where uncertainty and risk are involved.

Greetings everyone. My company just shut down due to economic polices, no incoming business nor fund to sustain the staff. So as it is now, I am back to the street.
I made a savings of 500k from my meagre salary of 65k monthly. I am married with a kid.
What business can I venture into that can sustain I and my family before house-hold expense will reduce the money to nothing.

Please I need a good and legit advice from everyone.

Thanks.

Oga I understand your situation.

I for say POS because the thing is profitable, I am into it although my wife manages from her shop where she sells provisions.

I started with 80,000 in March and as of last week Saturday my total capital is more than 180,000 from profit I have been re-investing back into the business.

Why I won't guarantee it is that it depends on location and there is some risk involved.

If you want to go into it look for opay or kudi. Avoid palmpay and moniepoint.

Properties / Re: My Landlady Just Brought A Quit Notice To Me Out Of The Blue! by LagBlogger(m): 1:26am On May 08, 2022
clericuzzio:

She has given you quit notice. Just ignore it until she serves you court letter.
On the first summon date, don't go, it would be rescheduled. Maybe 3months.

Then be present at the second hearing at this time ask the judge to give you time to get a lawyer to stand or represent you. The case would be adjourned for another 3months. Now you have stayed 6months.

On the 3rd hearing date, ask the lawyer to find excuse to give you time to file your defense and come up with your own position. The case would be extended by 3months again.

On the Fourth hearing, tell the judge that your finance has really dwindled and that the landlady should give you 6months to 1year to raise another rent fee, you were affected by covid.

After the 6months to 1 year expiration, tell the judge you have managed to raise just 50k and that you are still trying your best to raise it to 300k to get a decent apartment. You will definitely be obliged, cos the court doesn't expect you to sleep on the street or under bridge.

With this strategy you've lived your profit off her and even the fees you paid.

Then gently look for a decent place where the landlord doesn't stay in the same compound or that doesn't depend on rents for survival.

Note: I'm currently in same page with you as my own landlady has given me quit notice as well.
I will vacate her residence next year December

You think you're smart. Try this with a smart badass landlord. You will be the one begging him to free you.

The 6 months quit notice is not rent free and if the landlord knows what he is doing the OP will regret the experience.

OP you are lucky to have someone like me here to give great advice free of charge. I will advise you to focus on the job you are paid to do and leave others alone. If you notice your coworker or supervisor stealing or slacking on the job seize that opportunity to become the best version of yourself and hopefully someone will notice and promote you. You should never snitch on another colleague to elevate your stance in an organisation because at the end of the day you are just a number and you are easily replaceable. Mind your your business and good luck.

The day your superiors find out you are nonchalant that will be the end if the road as far as that organisation is concerned.

This is not minding your business it is being complicit and disloyal and every prudent boss will take note.

Not really wise. A situation whereby a fraudulent neighbour commits a crime against you, you will regret this nonchalance.

That is if he's not vigilant. Being mindful of boundaries is not nonchalance.

While it is good to mind one's business, you should be alive to your environment.

This makes no sense. The day someone will commit a crime there, and you get implicated, then you will understand what you are doing to yourself.

I won't write more than this.

Minding your business and being vigilant are two different things.

I mind my business when it comes to dealing with neighbors but I know when something is off around me.

At a certain level the law will completely disregard an argument that the employee could have rejected the offer because the law recognizes the unequal bargaining position of the parties. You're commenting from a position of ignorance so I won't engage with you anyway.

You are the one that is ignorant. The law in Nigeria cannot force employers to pay what their business revenue cannot sustain which is why minimum wage is not being enforced on private sector.

Even the government struggles to pay the minimum wage because salaries depend on sustainable revenue not random imaginary revenue that cannot sustain the business.

Employ people and pay them more than your business can afford then share your magic formula with us on how you made it possible.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Business Owners, Whats Your Experience With Bad Staff by LagBlogger(m): 4:24pm On Mar 30, 2022
SmartyPants:

Three reasons why you must not pay your staff ridiculous wages:

1. It is illegal

The minimum wage in this country is a pittance at 35k monthly. Shockingly you still want to pay someone 20 - 25 k.

What can he do with that? Can he rent even a chicken coop to sleep in for that amount of money? Transport himself to work and back? Can he aspire to raise a family?

2. It is wicked and manipulative

One person said the total benefits amount to 100k but the actual salary is 35k. If not for being a manipulator, who wants to keep those staff below a certain level, why not pay them the 100k and let them manage their money? The truth is you probably don't want them to have any savings so that you can keep them forever.

3. It makes no business sense

When starting a business you must factor in staff costs. If after paying your staff at least, minimum wage, you still can't take home a reasonable proft, you really don't have a business. Shut it down!

But to expect that someone on slave wages of 20k should be handled your profits without feeling sorely tempted to play a smart one on you, shows a lack of prudence in management.

One other person up there said was he forced? Yes! Only the most desperate of individuals would accept 25k as a monthly salary. But clearly, there is desperation and hunger in the land so at all at all naim bad pass.

Does that mean you should exploit the desperation of your fellow man?

Honestly, it is sad to say but it seems as though the default inclination of the average Nigerian is wickedness.

All of you will then turn around and complain about bad selfish leaders but look at what you're supporting?!

You just want to argue for argument sake.

If you like make it 5 reasons to not pay staff poorly, workers have freedom to turn down a job offer and you can't pay more than your business revenue can sustain.

Since you care so much employ whoever you like and pay them millions.
