The Press can be sensational and overly partisan when it comes to news that sells. but we must ask those hard questions, trickles of news of Gay priests and acts of molestation abound.. who knows what will happen if that hole is opened up just a bit. We can deny and makes excuses for isolated cases not forming a norm or generality in what is revered (worldwide) as a top-notch Christian Institution.. such incidents tend to have a deeper, closely-guarded cans-o-worms.

Apathy is not what is needed as seen throughout this thread.. asking those questions and probing further is what is required. if the institution is strong, it won't fall to criticism or probes, if it is found wanting, then you do not have to reason to far as to why the Pope will quit over such an issue.
After-all, He is God's Messenger here on Earth, he is no longer a private figure, he is public and a negative image of Christianity is not a light issue.

IMHO I think it is just "bad" behavior nothing more. so please spare us the self-immolation... it reeks, your question was not twisted in anyway, i just pointed out that you cannot simplify what is obviously a personal opinion as a generality or norm. which is what you are doing BTW. just as you cannot accept when someone asks you "Does God Exist" and a simple yes is enough... I only offered or suggested that if you want a general answer (which is what you really want) why not asks openly Gay & Lesbian priests. they at least have found acceptance within a substantial Christian community so well that they are allowed to continue. (a side-winder in my opinion) y'see being gay or lesbian generally is as much a personal issue as being a Born-again Christian or Suicidal-Muslim. when you ask this type of question, you cannot expect to get an objective answer (unless f'course you are at a Gay Parade or Lesbian Convention). I could easily ask you to get the answers from openly Gay and Lesbian Christian Priests since it shoudl give you a much deeper insight than an Atheist (assuming you are Christian).. just saying

Why not give it a try... Print on a sheet of A4 Paper "I AM AN ATHEIST" you would think Nigerians not too smart to know the meaning right.. drive to Church.

It will take several (pro-active) successive APC regimes to clear the root of the problems.
1: Over-population in urban Lagos (Majority of Nigeria migrates to Lagos City and no where else in the state)
2: Inadequate civil infrastructure (Health, Affordable Housing, Education, Electricity, Trade Zones etc)
3: Sustainable Employment (not Keke-marwa or Keke-Napep today then Keke-tinubu tomorrow)
4: More (Efficient) PPP projects sustained by Donor+Government Funding (Less siphoning to you-know-where)

As you can see, shutting down is not sustainable, it is not a solution,it is a quick-fix, wrapping foil-paper on a compound fracture.
