Like I have said, the hadith on Muhammad's private life cannot be regarded as untrue simply because they are embarrassing to some Muslims with modern sensitivities.

Many of these hadith are preached in mosques and the imams who preach the hadiths are quite proud to do so.

For example, I heard this hadith on the "prophet's" sexual powers from a popular preacher Sheikh Mahmoud al-Misri:


Narrated Qatada:
Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas, "Had the Prophet the strength for it?" Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)." And Sa'id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 5, Number 268)

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet used to visit all his wives in one night and he had nine wives at that time. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 5, Number 282; see also parallel hadiths in Vol. 7, Book 62, Numbers 6 and 142)

Apparently the "prophet" was a sexual superman if he could "bash" eleven women without feeling tired!

While it is true that some hadith are of doubtful origin, Mohammad Al Bukhari's collection are regarded as the most authentic. Second only to the Quran.

Indeed of all the works of Hadeeth, Saheeh Al-Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim are regarded as the most authentic and authoritative books, after the Quran.

The very word "Saheeh" means "authentic". Saheeh Al-Bukhari was compiled by Imam (leader) of Hadeeth, Mohammad Ibn Isma'eel Al-Bukhari, born 194H in Bukhara, central Asia. He traveled at an early age seeking knowledge to Hijaz (Makkah and Madeenah), Ancient Syria, Iraq, Egypt etc. He devoted more than 16 years of his life to the actual compilation of this work. He learnt from more than 1000 scholars.

So Bukhari cannot be lightly dismissed as a charlatan or a practitioner of "Bidah".

Whatever he writes has to be taken seriously because Muslim scholars and "talib" have always taken him seriously.

We had to admit a baby girl, she was given birth to prematurely (7 months gestation), her case was a bad one and we told the parents the prognosis, but this little girl fought on. She exceeded our expectations and everyone in that unit got attached to her emotionally, then she got worse, nothing seemed to be working. The parents have spent a ton of money by this time, so, we were all really rooting for this girl to make it, we held prayers, got a mantle blessed by Bishop Oyedepo, prayed and prayed, she eventually died.
Our prayers and Bishop Oyedepo's mantle weren't worth a damn, apparently.

Mary lived on her own. No reference is ever made to her parents anywhere in the Bible.

After Mary became pregnant with Jesus, she visited her cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant with John The Baptist. She did this by herself.

Nobody with half a brain would think that a 13 year old could live on her own and travel all by herself. Only a grown up could have been able to do the things that Mary did without attracting attention.

When Jesus was 12 years old, he traveled with his parents to the Temple in Jerusalem and when his parents thought he was missing they raised an alarm. If Mary had been 13 years old when she visited Elizabeth by herself, an alarm would have been raised by her parents.

As for the Hadith it is taken from Shaih Bukhari which is regarded as the most authentic hadith collection by most prominent tafsirs like Ibn Kathir and
Al Tabari.

An authentic Shahih Hadith which most mainstream Sunni Muslims believe in. And Aisha was 9 years old when the "prophet" had sex with her.

Unlike the Bible where Mary's age is not given, the hadith specifically state that Aisha was 6 when the "prophet" married her and 9 when he raped her. It can only be described as rape because a 9 year old girl is not old enough to give consent for rape:

SAHIH AL-BUKHARI

Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became all right, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's Blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234)

Narrated Hisham's father:
Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 236)

Narrated 'Aisha:
Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' Then you were shown to me, the angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her), and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.'" (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 87, Number 140; see also Number 139)

Narrated 'Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death). (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64; see also Numbers 65 and 88)

Mary would have been some 13 years old — the age Jewish maidens of that time married — when the widower Joseph came to her village of Nazareth, perhaps to repair the house of her parents.

During my days in medical school, majority of my fellowship leaders and excos were all medical students, clinical medical students at that.

Even many of my teachers were patrons of student fellowships or even coordinators of Missions in their respective churches.

While still in naija, I had one that broke my faith then. It took to years to find it again.
The sad Child had to be amputated. It still hurts to remember it cos I was the person who handled the case and also the person who had to take off the childs leg. All the preaching I did to the patents, threats and even begging didn't work. I mean, how can ur child have epilepsy and ur pastor says its demon possession and then u burn his legs with charcoal then start praying for the legs to somehow miraculously heal back. I mean what level of ignorance is that? The hospital had the pastor arrested for assault though and I went in myself to question my faith.
