AutoJosh you still didn’t address the question you posed and this thread reeks of immense butt licking. Trying to defend your previous post on the viability of reversing the policy on car import duties which you were blatantly against as you felt it will stifle IVM’s sales. Does IVM design or put their prototypes through tests? Do they see up the leather and assemble the engines here in Nigeria? These are the facts you should propound on. iVM still remains an importer if CKD vehicles to avoid import tariffs. They assemble. Period 5 Likes 1 Share |
| Car Talk › Nasty Little Issues Your Car Ever Gave You? by laivwire(op): 10:46pm On Feb 02, 2019 |
Now, as hustlers back then and even now, some mini car issues do come up that you can’t just cough up the funds to tackle right away. These situations can be so embarrassing that when you think back you can’t but smile. I’ll share a few of mine and throw the floor open. My mum had a Primera back then that developed a fault. I don’t remember the exact definition or cause but Kazeems usually term it like ‘it’s not doing slow’. The car trips off once you depress the brakes. It can be a pain in the neck when you’re in traffic and when coupled with a weak car battery which happens to be number 2. God help you in mad lagos traffic jams. You go hear am.Another one, I drove my brother’s 99 Toyota Corolla back then with a transmission problem. The car didn’t go in reverse. I always made advanced trajectory plans when driving into any corner or the familiar territory. I plan the slope, leave ample space when parking etc Despite that, I often got stuck in situations where I had to humble myself, pack my agbada and start pushing the car back to position. Well I can add a leaking radiator or an overheating car to the list. It’s a mad experience you won’t wish for. Always stopping to cool off and carrying jerrycans of water in your trunk. Pls share yours too abeg |

| Car Talk › Re: Someone Just Payed ₦763m For First Production 2020 Toyota GR Supra At An Auction by laivwire(m): 8:09am On Jan 21, 2019 |
nwanneni:That will be a criminal offense. I’m sure Toyota won’t want to be embroiled in such. Personally, like millions of other folks around the world, I have a cult following if Supra way back from the 1991 model. The ‘99 model is especially scarce you can’t just pick it off the streets. The car is one of Toyota’s RWD that can be so modded and yet reliable. Fans have been clamoring for a new model and this prayer answered after 20 years. As for the buyer, it’s a win win scenario for him. He has the cash, he supported charity, he’s still going to use and enjoy the car and say 10 years down the line, he can auction that car for 20 times the price he paid for it now. In my opinion (and if I had that sort of cash), it’s a no brainer 4 Likes |

The driver should be arrested for reckless driving, disruption of peace, over speeding, disregard for traffic laws and finally man slaughter. Any thing short of prison time is injustice in this scenario. |
