First, allow me to remind you that Ikwerres being distinct from Igbos is a matter of ancestry and not because of divergence in language or culture.

Granted, Ikwerre and Igbo have some shared words and also share some customs but that alone shouldn't be the reason to arrive at your conclusion.

Mr. Ikengawo, i believe you believe you are the son of your father and your father's father's. You should have your genealogy, even if not documented, atleast the oral version. If you migrate to Sokoto and birth your kids there, after even 10 generations, they Shud still be able to identify themselves as Igbos. So if Hausas try to claim them as theirs, they can point their ancestry as the reason why they can be hausas.

Now for the record, IKWERRES are descendants of IWHRONHA, the son of Akalaka, a prince in Benin during the dynasty of Oba Ewuare.

As for me i don't care about Ikwerre People. but stop attaching Ikwerre with Benin people Oba of Benin have said it so many times that their is no such record that Ikwerre people are from benin. so stop forcing Ikwerre on benin people

Speaking with Government House Correspondents shortly on arrival at the Ibom International Airport, Uyo, from official engagements, Governor Emmanuel said, like most governors, he was not present when the National Economic Council, NEC, meeting took the decision. He regretted that the Federal Government had failed to provide such similar support to the Niger Delta states, despite the spate of militancy, kidnapping and other acts of insecurity in the region. “We are not too comfortable with the decision to part with $1 billion as that is supposed to support development by state governments and local government areas,” he said.

Oga You have not answer my Question the tenant have told the landlord plain that he will not pay any house rent again without any reason. he have stayed for some months already without paying any money. are you saying the landlord should overlook him and wait for complete 6 months before talking action against the man. what if the landlord took loan to build the house then how do you expect him to pay back if every tenants begin to behave that way.

There are "legal events" that must occur before you can issue 7days Notice, and rent having expired just now, is not one of them.
To issue 7days Notice, the tenant must be in arreas of 6months rent first and thus, becomes a tenant at will.

You are wrong their is no such law that said landlord have to wait for 6 months before serving 7 days Quit notice to a tenant their rent have expired. once tenant rent expired the landlord have full right to serve the tenant 7 days Quit notice to the tenant since the tenant is not ready to pay up his rent

If it does, pple will be moving house every year and enjoying months free.
In law, if that happens equity is dead.
Remember, equity is the foundation of contract law.

ONLY Until a yearly tenants owe six months rent, that is the only time you can give them a 7days Notice, because they have become a "Tenant at will".

I have read a lot of MISCONCEPTION on this thread, l just hope l will have the time to respond to some of them.

BTW: after not paying rent for six months, You go to Court and get a Form TL2 and serve a 7days Quit Notice.

After the expiry of that 7days Quit Notice and the tenant still refuse to leave, You then GO BACK TO COURT and serve ANOTHER 7days "Notice to Recover Property" (Making 14days now! ).

After that, you still go back to court and ask them to give you a baliff who will jack the tenants stuff and that stuffs will be AUCTIONED" to recover all Arreas of Rent (Six Months + 14 days).

That is the process for removing a "Statutory tenant" (one whose case has been reported to the Courts).

You are wrong since the tenant rent have expired the landlord have right to serve the tenant 7 days Quit notice. The OP said that the tenant have said that he will not pay for the house rent showing that he want trouble are you saying that the landlord should fold his hands and wait for 6 months before talking action against the miscreant even when the miscreant rent have expired since August

That 6 months notice is for paying tenants, not debtors. Its 7 days notice to pack out once your rent is over. Check Lagos Tenancy Law. Its called to recover your property from a defaulting tenant.

The Imo State House of Assembly has endorsed Governor Rochas Okorocha ’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, to take over from Okorocha in 2019.

Nwosu is currently serving as the Chief of Staff to the governor.

The House Committee Chairman on Petroleum, Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission and Niger Delta Development Commission, Henry Ezediaro, disclosed this when he addressed newsmen in Owerri, the state capital on Saturday.

He said Nwosu was the most qualified to succeed Okorocha.

According to Ezediaro, the decision to endorse Nwosu was reached after the majority of the state’s lawmakers declared him the best to run for the position.

He said, “After meeting with the members of the House of Assembly, we, irrespective of party affiliations, have endorsed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. We urge him to contest the poll. If he does, we will support him to be the governor in 2019.

“On behalf of the lawmakers, we want to use this medium to appeal to the governor and thank him for his free education policy in the state, but without Uche Nwosu, the policy may die and that is why we want him to continue from where he will stop.”

He added, “The house is not in crisis, we just disagreed on some issues.”
