cyrilamx: Guy let me tell you something you don't know. If you know me from onset, I was a lover of igbo. I spent 3 years in anambra state. I learnt how to eat their food and prevailed upon my dad to let his eldest daughter marry an igbo man. But alas my view of the average igbo man changed when I got back to Benin. At first, I fraternise with them calling them my in laws, I realised it was the biggest mistake I made. Because the binis are easy going, hospitable and few, the average igbo man wants to Lord it over us. They acquire lands in Benin without discrimination. Only in Benin you find an igbo man named after Street cos he is the first resident in said street. The day I heard igbo saying Benin is no man's land coupled with my igbo's fiancee dumping me after spending so much on her on ground that her family won't accept me cos am not igbo put paid to my relationship with them Today I still regret my sister marriage to an igbo man. I wish Biafra will happen over night so all igbo vacate Benin land. Yes we few, but we have vast and arable lands, huge economic mineral resources and a soon to be dredged port. We are proud of our cultural heritage. Festac mask will tell you that...we very friendly, slow to provocation and hospitable. But we won't condole igbos' taking over our lands. Our hospitality in the eyes of many igbos settlers in Benin is now foolishness. I don't care whatever you call me...I just can't help detesting the igbos though they industrious and many may be good...but they are all a colonising force. I still can't understand some people you sold your lands to Igbo people. you are saying that your people we not condole igbos' taking over your lands. did any of them took your lands by force? do you want to eat your cake and still have it. you have to thank God for the Igbo people buying land in Benin when there's good lands in Awka, Enugu, Owerri, and so on the can buy |

o42austino: Lol... This people are funny.. Obi what?.... The Peter I know hate stealing of public funds and must compare every contract before approval for the low bidder with proven track record or work done. Peter was the first governor that invited police, DSS, ICPC, EFCC and Ndi Anambra yo a big Hall to give account of his stewardship before his hand over, there he handed everyone present a very big volume of books contain government bank accounts and list of expenditure and contract done and ask the security agency to do their investigation to know if all he told them was the truth and nothing but, the truth.
That's why EFCC has not dem it fit to invite him when all this politically motivated petitions started flying in because they know the truth.
This Is the guy that single handedly moved Anambra forward and first ever introduced Anambra developmental blue print which this present administration is using, his the first with in conjunction with UN habitat to map Anambra out with its cities both old and new, so that building will not intrude into reserved areas for farm and industries, this is the Governor that stop linkages of public fund via waste full spending by head of Agencies in Anambra.
This Is the first governor in Anambra that link all the major ruler Roads in Anambra and build them even with the suppression and oppression he received from OBJ and the Uba Brothers headed by Chris Uba.
Financial prudence is his watch word and he is hated by political jobber in Anambra state for not sharing state funds that's why they nick named him Aka Gum(Gum hand) ,because he refused to share state money and refuse to spend money unwisely.
This Is a guy that made investment for Ndi Anambra so that we can have alternative ways of generating money apart from Federal government money, he made sure he left billions of Naira in reserve in view that oil price will fall.
I know all this for sure because I was staying at government house Awka as a student of NAU then. Are you saying that Peter obi is a saint ? Peter obi did some work in Anambra does not mean he didn't stole money all politicians in Nigeria are thieves .the problem we have in this country are not the politicans but there blind supporters look at the last re-run election in my state Imo I couldn't believe that a sane person will vote for Apc the won all the re-run election upon all the wickedness Rochas have showed Imo people they still went ahead and voted for Apc that's a very big shame. |

topsy23: The amount is much. Is your electrician installing indelic called lightning preventron? If it is a normal spike that normally install on the roof, less than 100k should be able to cater for it except the electrician is installing another brand of lightning arrestor called ESSEX. This type is very expensive. For the normal arrestor below is the materials needed:
1. Copper tape 2. Tape clip 3. Tonado nail 4. Earth rod 5. Earth clamp 6. Spike 7. Earth coupler(if u are using more than one earth rod)
Visit this thread more information on Earthing and Bonding system. https://www.nairaland.com/2316228/importance-proper-earthing-bonding-system Thanks |

allCopacetic: A nairalander once contacted me for cables and i noticed there werent any earthing cables on his list. I drew his attention to it and he said his electrician said it wasnt necessary since a lightning protection system will be installed. I was shocked.
the Lightning protection system and the electrical supply earthing or grounding system are two different entities that serve very different purposes and should never be interconnected.
It is very very dangerous to ground your power points via the same system as your lightning arrestor. you're creating a possible return path for the charge into your building OK Thanks |

EgunMogaji: Please validate what I'm about to say with a licensed electrician in Nigeria as my wiring is based on USA methods.
The grounding of your electrical system happens in the distribution box.
Each outlet from that distribution box gets a ground wire by default in a 3 wire system so I'm not sure why there will be a special grounding wire in each room.
Ping @allCopacetic, he's the guvnor Ok thanks |

Enyimbamercedes: Which one again is Thunder protector? The only protection, if needed, from thunder is to use ear plugs. However, lightning protector is a different matter. It's simply a three prong spike placed at the highest point of the house with a metal wire running into the earth. There is no room connections to it so I don't think it should cost as much as they quoted. I have some questions though: 1. Why do you been it for a one storey building? 2. Is you area lightning prone? 3. Do you have a pointed roof ? Lighting would usually be pulled towards a pointed object which is why spikes are used aso conductors so if you have a flat roof, I don't think you are in any danger. Thanks you mean there is no need to connect any wire in in each of the rooms as the Electrican told me |
