So the pope is now the yardstick for Christianity and miracles eh
Amazing, one group criticizes popes and priests and another excel them and hold them in high regards
Well i guess it's the same with Christ embassy and miracles, some people believe and it works for them while others do not so no qualms
As I said it was an European view , and for them the pope is like an icon for Christianity , Plus will you say pastor chris will pass to be more righteous than the pope smiley, I heard it takes two miracles to become a saint so let say pastor chris is already a saint smiley so I guess some pple will already start praying in his name , what a joke

I once showed one of his healing's to an European smiley , she couldn't stop laughing , she said even the pope cant perform such instant miracles , she said how can anyone believe such smiley, In Nigeria we believe anything smiley
PoliticsRe: Jos Burning Now! by lakode(m): 9:35pm On Jan 30, 2011
Hmm few days back on niaraland I saw a thread  "five mosque burnt in Jos " , It was funny that I didn't see any one pointing finger at Religion , funny enough many pple on that thread blame the Government, But when its churches then we point fingers at religion .

For me it is always funny , these Religions are not even ours ,we take any Little thing to Discriminate in Nigeria , I have never seen a thread like Sango and Osun worshipers fighting each other, and going by some comment on this thread it amazes me that some Nigerians hate others basically cos of Religion(we are all Nigerians ,religion comes second), I will give my family as an example my dad is a practicing  Muslim (Ahlaji) , and my mum a devoted Christian I guess this puts me in a more sensible position , STOP BLAMING THE KILLINGS IN JOS ON RELIGION IT IS PURELY POLITICAL , The greater mix of religion(based on proportion) is in the southwest and we coexist and live together( so  south south and northerners stop this stupidity and don't blame religion)

PoliticsRe: Riot In The North Over Jonathan's Win by lakode(m): 12:38pm On Jan 19, 2011
phantom23 see the fact is Nigeria isn't a democracy to compare with that in the western world , yes your child can wake and want to be a President why not , but in this case the PDP already made this agreement and in the case of Nigeria we are a  massive  country that has over 100 tribes(counting the sub tribes), and you see if we refuse to zone then their will always be problem, as we all know some tribes in the country have more capable Technocrat , I.e if you refuse Zoning then probably most Nigerian President will come from the SW(arguably the part of the country with  most intellects ) , so will that be fair,, You guys cant compare the Politics in USA or some other country to Nigeria , even before now we all know its the turn of the North , like in 1999 when OBJ was contesting it was a all south-west  affair . I am not saying GEJ cant be president but its not just right time(or maybe he could contest under another party) , plus try and assume a situation Yaradua didn't die will there be this argument hmmmm,, all I ask for is fair play simple
PoliticsRe: Riot In The North Over Jonathan's Win by lakode(m): 11:36am On Jan 19, 2011
Firstly ,lets look beyond thier naviety ;Now have we asked ourselves why the idea of zoining was put foward, are we right to change this  .hmm , ok my view ;The fact remains that in country as heterogeneous(in tribe) as Nigeria , it is to the benefit of peace and sanity for such idea , moreso if  we reject   the idea of zoining now have you guys try to ask yourselves what will happen in the next 4 yrs( I mean nxt election) , then it will be big confusion , as it is since stable democracy we had South doing two terms and North with a truncated first term so , hmm what will happen in next 4 yrs(Lack of foresight)  .
As much as I also don't support Atiku , the power of incumbency and stay in power by all cost  being exhibited by GEJ also disqualifies him , If PDP is really a sincere party why not invite a Northerner that is perceive more capable by the masses, if they call on someone like Ribadu or even one of the Northern Governors  wont that be more fair
Lastly , I remember once we were all against OBJ going for three terms , I will point out with GEJ running its like OBJ going for his 4th term , If most of you despise Atiku(like I also do ) , then you should despise OBJ and you should also be against the idea of GEJ . Even looking at other Major parties they are choosing Northerners( Cos they are sincere and they know what is right)

Interesting , good to know you still remember home , I have that same line of thinking , ok , My answers ;

You definately in your right senses , livinging outside Nigeria will always make you a second class citizen

The challenges hmm, it sounds like you have  being away for a long time , ok some challenges : SECURITY , SPORADIC POWER FALIURE(AS ALWAYS) , BAD ROADS  add HIGH RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT  also

Yeah there are jobs paying that much , but hmm it will take alot to get such jobs , if you have loads of work experience(it will be more easy) , But in BTW I think if you have lilttle money with you , you can try start up a business(be your own boss in your own country)

MY LAST INPUT IS THAT , WHAT MOST NIGERIANS FACE IN THE DIASPORA( ATIMES) IS MORE WORST THAN LIVING IN HARDSHIP IN NIGERIA ," ENI TI OWE OJU NI ERU N BA ", AND ALSO PRAY ABOUT IT , MAY GOD HELP YOU

"if your green card expire or you are just out of status"

dont know green card expires hmm , I thought is a kind of indefinite stay

Moving back is definitely on most Nigerians mind , but I will say apart form the infrastructure state there is one big factor that is a big barrier(my personal view), and that is the naira exchange against major currency , many times I ask myself why do we need to keep the naira devalued , we hardly sell anything abroad except oil(and the price of oil is independent of exchange rate) , If the MPC can do something about Nigeria's naira I tell you most Nigerian will be back home fast
PoliticsRe: Why Does A Country Needs To Borrow When She Can Easily Print More? by lakode(m): 12:30am On Dec 02, 2010
when you print more money you reach a point of inflation in the economy , and if the printing get's too much you get hyper -inflation , countries in Europe printed money after the wars and the result was hyper -inflation .bond is a good way of money creation , it ensures the balance of money flow in the economy

@otumfour

I am Naija, well I truly appreciate your topic, and support you, I have been to Accra.2004 and the electricity did not go off for good one month i stayed in the Ghetto of Nima, I was shocked,  and surprised that since when i was a kid in the early 80's till that date, I have never seen electricity not been interrupted, I was ashamed for our Mighty Nigeria,

@otumfour  Thanks again dont mind all those our  Nigerians who are blind and stupidly supporting their useless ego.Let me tell you Ghana is better than Nigeria in many ways of transparency and development, lets forget Oil and Land mass and Population, forget all that bullshit, there is damm poverty in the Land of abundance of silly people who manage it we have a wicked tribalism system in Nigeria which is killing us,

When i first saw the city of Accra, at Night i saw light ,  and good roads networks, i was proud that time i visited, by then the almighty Lagos was rotten and unkempt was a yeye garbage city .with no good beautification just populated with people running helter skelter, hustlin and bustlin , but I am sure Governor Fashola peep from Accra city and use that Idea to beautify Lagos today , which is just nice , now the road network is just ok BRT transport system,

Dont Mind Nigerians they copy from Accra city system and who says Abuja is better than Accra, I wold choose Accra to Abuja, because Abuja is a corrupt city full of Hotels, to useless people money and nothing  but love-peddlers everywhere how many Nigerian can affford all those beautiful houses in ABJ  its damm expensive. for fund stealers and their lazy family, Thunder will fire all of them,  and there is poverty, heavy poverty in Abuja also the remote area,  see children, wailing n poverty in the land of their fathers..WHY WHY NIGERIA

GHANA AND NIGERIA ARE ONE, BUT I MUST SAY GHANA OUTWEIGH NIGERIA, I DONT CARE IF I AM NIGERIAN, WHY ARE INDUSTRIES LEAVING NIGERIA TO GHANA. THE ANSWER-CONSTANT ELECTRICITY, WHICH I SAY THUMBS , THAT IS WHAT YOU USE TO JUDGE A COUNTRY ADVANCEMENT AND FORESIGHT, NOT OIL MISMANAGEMENT AND CURSE, EDUCATION IS ZERO HERE , HEALTH MANAGEMENT ZERO, CHURCHS EVERYWHERE AND  AINT TRUTHFUL, INTERSTATE ROAD IS A DEATH TRAP,WHO CARES IF NIGERIA HAS SILVER BIRD CORPORATION IN GHANA, AND ACROSS AFRICA,

MY NIGERIA IS A COUNTY WITH SWEET TALKER, AS IT IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE, I am a typical Lagos city boi, from the hoods and knows the streets  and sufferance of an average Naija citizen, now can some one tell me something i dont know about Nigeria
, I can sense that most naija people that post a reply on this topic are not sincere, that may be some well to do people who has never seen the streets harshness before,
God bless you  Bro , exactly my point of  view , naija nah ego , most Nigerians even posting here dont live in Nigeria , most of them are probably Nigerians with second citizenship in Europe or America , Dont mind them , The real Nigerians leaving in places like KETU ALAPERE , or those from ORITA MERIN (in Ibadan) wont even argue about Nigeria better than TOGO , in between most constant internet users are those outside the country , Bro ignore them .naija and mouth

NYSCRe: Is There A Punishment For Deserting NYSC? by lakode(m): 8:56pm On Nov 10, 2010
Dude, I think the part in bold is untrue, save it only applies to the Uni~s in the USA which I'm not aware of. Most, if not all, Universities in the UK do not request for NYSC Cert and may not even know of the NYSC scheme. The only period one may need it (NYSC cert) is when applying for a UK student visa to study a Phd or MSc programme in a UK Uni - this is due to the fact that some graduates, when applying to the UKBA/Embassy, are yet to be issued either their Degree certificates or Transcripts by their respective Uni~s and tend to use the NYSC discharge ceritificate as a back-up evidence to prove they've completed their degree programmes before being allowed to embark on the one year compulsory NYSC scheme - to which, I believe, the UKBA office/Embassy in Nigeria has been duly informed by the Federal Government.

this is someone that knows what he/she is saying , its true in the embassy you might be asked (not all the time), its not and it will never be a criteria for admission .I wonder where this guy standing on this point got his information from .

In addition I found this on the web of Queen Mary university London http://www.qmul.ac.uk/international/countries/nigeria/index.html , Pls Mister point out NYSC, I cant find it there

furacao:
lt's not rubbish. Just like l said, l am speaking from experience. lt's a Federal Government requirement agreed with foreign universities.
Rubbish indeed , Finished my masters planing to start a PHD no one person asked me for NYSC , So which foreign UNI , pls give an example(am not telling you I don't have the CERT., left it in Nigeria it is useless outside)

My take on this ; Firstly how many Nigerian Politicians have a degree?, Secondly what is the main Purpose of NYSC

ANS---(1)less then 40% of the Politicians have a degree nor HND ( so more than 60% don't have NYSC)
( 2)The main purpose of NYSC is to unite Nigerian youths , not as a qualification for any reason (MAIN PURPOSE)

it is so much of a fuss in the job market mainly to serve as a factor in reducing the large number of job seekers(e.g you should graduate early from school)

"IF THERE ARE ENOUGH JOBS IN NIGERIA , THE NYSC WOULD NOT MEAN SO MUCH ( EMPLOYMENT WISE)"
"IF YOU NEED IT FOR POLITICS , SIMPLY JOIN PDPsmiley"

IT IS NECESSARY BUT REALLY NOT COMPULSORY
PoliticsThe Minimum Wage In Nigeria Is About 100$ At Present by lakode(op): 1:45pm On Nov 10, 2010
"Nigerian unions are going ahead with a threatened nationwide strike for a rise in the minimum wage.

The two largest unions rejected a last-minute appeal from President Goodluck Jonathan to call off the action.

The unions want the monthly minimum wage more than doubled to $120 (£75) because prices have risen steeply.

But union leaders said they would meet later on Wednesday to decide whether to strike for three days as initially planned or call off the action early."
BBC

OMG Nigeria's minimum pay is not even half of what a run away , with no education we get in Europe , and THIS POLITICIAN CANT EVEN INCREASE IT , WAOW
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria's Business Climate So Hostile? by lakode(m): 6:37pm On Nov 08, 2010
hmm business in Nigeria , My own little analysis : In starting up a business or in locating right environment for doing business you have to use a tool that business administrator and economist calls the PEST analysis , now I have an analysis of Nigeria as follows

P(Politics) -The Nigerian political environment is tensed , and I doubt if it will change in years to come (on this note its a minus)

E(Economy)--Although Nigeria is the 3rd largest economy in Africa, but ask yourself what makes up this number ;Nigeria's GDP(export) comprises basically of crude and its derivatives , on the import side its practically every other thing (except what dangote produces and what OBJ farms) , so this is a bad omen for business as the market is not fair and free(you can ask dangote) .on this note I will give a minus

S(Social and infrastructure state)----we will all agree this is zero , sporadic power supply , bad road ways , practically no security for lives and properties , etc etc , another minus

T(Technology )---This might be on the rise , but we cant argue we still lack "few technical no how", we are few ways back (even compared to a country like India).maybe we can give a plus for this (a small plus )

, Now you have your answer , if you really want to do business in Nigeria , then JOIN PDP smiley  , Good luck
NYSCRe: Is It Wise To Come Back To Do NYSC? by lakode(m): 5:23pm On Nov 08, 2010
hmmm, really it depends , I was also doing mine and I left it to pursue my masters program abroad , some get lucky during the NYSC some get unlucky(I know a friend that was killed in jos during his NYSC ) .However if I will go by my own experience , I will say a big NOOOO, I went through a really ludicrous time during my NYSC , I was posted to the creaks in the Niger delta , I was robbed under 48 hrs of getting to my primary assignment environment , the living conditions were bizarre 'unimaginable' , I was cooking and taking shower using bags of pure water plus no security nor electricity , for me it was hell .
I will point out that the only reasonable part of the program is the first few weeks in camp( you can be lucky to meet old mates from as far back as primary school) , I think the government needs to extend the military camp period to 2 months and that should be all(it is the only reasonable part of the program),
PoliticsRe: What Is Your Opinion On Capitalism? by lakode(m): 2:31pm On Nov 04, 2010
First thing I will point out is that ;going through the evolution of the monetary system and macroeconomics dynamics of nations , there as always being a certain system of economics that rules , not basically cos' it flawless , but depending on the global leader, In between the world wars and slightly after it , the common measure was the idea of equality and that brought about the communism system and this idea was basically championed by the USSR , But the rise of capitalism definitely points to the USA , although most conservative dont agree with must ideas of capitalism , but it seems to be what works now , maybe tomorrow it will be another system
Its funny to say a country like China that claims to be a communist state is also embracing all ideals of capitalism( I wonder what is communism in what china practice), but you cant blame china in a world growing fast due to the hype of the word "Globalization", and what will you say a country like ours (Nigeria) is practicing smiley
For me all this are just words coined for description purposes ,If you look closely there is hardly any economy not having both COMMUNIST and CAPITALIST character , It just depends on your view , as far as wealth wont be shared equally( even in socialism) and the market wont still be free for everyone to invest (even in capitalism ) THEN WHAT IS THE FUSS ABOUT THESE TERMS
