Re: Jos Burning Now! by Righton: 8:20pm On Jan 30, 2011 |
calaway:You are mistaken. Who is claiming to be smart. You started an anlysis in your post but ruined it because of bias. When there are silent killings by both sides, what do you call it? When muslims dress like christians when going to christian-dominated areas and vice versa, what is that. When a hausa electoral officer being escorted by soldiers is attacked and killed, what is that? You think all these will happen in Lagos, Abakaliki, Makurdi now. I posted links to show that hausas have been victims, it does not matter. We must keep insisting that it is just the hausas, the hausas only. During Ijaw Itsekiri war, were the aggressors hausas, in Umuleri/aguleri? ife/modakeke? Face reality, anybody attack reprisal attacks after fighting gets to a point. And this cycle continues. Blaming one party as you are benton doing will never solve the problem So it is only the hausas that have been attacking since over 10 years ago? What about the people dumped in the well. Let us acknowledge facts of life and human behaviour. Do you know that I have observed that it is very, very difficult for a christian to admit that christians have done anything bad. Yet there are a lot of criminals in the SE. I used that example because christians dominate the region. Does it occur to you that they regard themselves as christians? Do you know that people like them may be in Jos? I am not exonerating anyone. To find peace, we need to re-examine our assumptions In that situation, desire for vengeance is overwhelming. If I carry away a christian's taxi and he knows where it is, what do you think he will do? Do you think that while coming to my area in an environment of silent killings, he will not arm himself. Forget the fact that the person is a Nigerian, anyone will not enter a dangerous place without weapons and the person will use it if attacked. That is human nature. Is that what happened in Jos, I don't know. But I am sure that the hausas tried to recover their cows and they wnet on that mission armed. You will notice that people carry guns all over Jos now - irrespective of tribe and religion. Do you seriously think that you are more civilised than me. Do you think it does not take a re-orientation to kill children? Do you think it is everyone who has taken a life in error or deliberately that will be able to sleep soundly at night? Forget writing on the internet and cheering one side, real lives are bring lost. Dreams are being truncated, hopes are bing dashed, widows are being made, sorrow continue to deepen, warm faces are being replaced with bitter and spiteful, mien. These are realities in a lot of homes. Has it occurred to you that hausa victims also include babies and women? Do you think my response justifies killing women and children. My point is this - if you cry about women and children of one group, you need to do that for the other. Otherwise you act in accordance to the southerner's views held that hausas are no better than their cows. From this position, the hausa will not also see you as human beings. Again, my point is that fighting to death never solves any problem. It just fuels the next round You believe that hausas are always the aggressors. Is that confirmed? During the civil war, we assumed that everybody in the North was the aggressor. Now we have identified the sole aggressor as the Hausa. Consistency please You are talking as if I live in Jos and I can call anybody to order. When you say if left unchecked these killings will allow the hausas kill every soul. Now how do you reconcile these two positions. Every time you take action to check the other party or teach him not to mess with you, he has a fresh reason to attack Look at this http://www.hrw.org/en/news/2011/01/27/nigeria-new-wave-violence-leaves-200-dead |

Re: Jos Burning Now! by calaway: 8:37pm On Jan 30, 2011 |
@Righton: You are losing sight of my point. Yes hausa people were killed and dumped in wells. But who drew the first blood? Who kills women and babies? who is more cruel? You dont expect christains in Jos to just sit back and watch hausa killed them do you? You see the Christians reacted to the aggressors. You act as if you donot know your people. Hausa do not need a reason to unleash death to any soul. Others fight for land wealth money territory etc. But an hausa man can kill an Igbo man in kano cos a derogatory cartoon of Mohammed (SAW)was made in Denmark. Even as we blog now HAUSA PEOPLE PLANTED A HUGE BOMB IN A CHURCH IN BAUCHI CITY. Truly you r not in a position to call any hausa man to order but you can spread the message in you mosque to you friend and i bet you the rippling effect will take hold and you will see a change. Jos as it is now with all the tension is a total manifestation of Hausa desire. People know the hausa character now. Just accpt it and create the change needed. REBRAND HAUSA. All news out of Jos and indeed Nigeria to the internet are all lies especially SR and AP these news source are mongers of falsehood. Anyway I dont expect a leopard to change his spots even and hausa soldier sent to enforce peace with the nations guns turn the barrels on babies. HAUSA TRIES TO BOMB XTAIN CHURCH IN BAUCHI CITY. whos cow was stolen here? |

@hectorswag: you made me loss my cool but your attitude is not helping matters. Many Hausa people are good, this i know for many of them saved alot of Christians (Hid) during the bloodletting activities of the typical wicked Hausa. the only smart poeple in Nigeria: means as a group of people they r not the only smart one other groups r smart too. Re: Jos Burning Now! by Righton: 9:21pm On Jan 30, 2011 |
calaway:You are rasing a lot issues and contradicting yourself If the hausa leopard cannot change its skin, what is the essence of saying I should go and appeal in the mosque If you continue to insist that christians cannot sit back, then do you think hausas will listen to any appeal for truce? So why are you saying my people anyway? Why do you think it is only the issue of cows that will make people fight So you think christians are not killing women and babies - the wife of that STF commander is a woman Look at the link that I posted and show me if christians have been the victims ALL the time Now what media should I use since you have discredited AP and SR. Please do not quote Nigerian press - they kept very quiet when Muslims were dumped in wells last year but made sure they gave full coverage to the reprisals in march As for drawing the first blood - read this story. I Actually read it first in Next when the people were still surrounded and they sent a text message to anybody who could help them get a message across I also saw the email by the owners of zamani Farms at Kuru jenta http://carmenmccain./2010/01/23/massacre-at-kuru-jentakuru-karama/ http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5514478-146/jonathan_orders_troops_to_jos_religious.csp |

Hmm few days back on niaraland I saw a thread "five mosque burnt in Jos " , It was funny that I didn't see any one pointing finger at Religion , funny enough many pple on that thread blame the Government, But when its churches then we point fingers at religion . For me it is always funny , these Religions are not even ours ,we take any Little thing to Discriminate in Nigeria , I have never seen a thread like Sango and Osun worshipers fighting each other, and going by some comment on this thread it amazes me that some Nigerians hate others basically cos of Religion(we are all Nigerians ,religion comes second), I will give my family as an example my dad is a practicing Muslim (Ahlaji) , and my mum a devoted Christian I guess this puts me in a more sensible position , STOP BLAMING THE KILLINGS IN JOS ON RELIGION IT IS PURELY POLITICAL , The greater mix of religion(based on proportion) is in the southwest and we coexist and live together( so south south and northerners stop this stupidity and don't blame religion) |

The country is boiling and my people are praying for "divine intervention". Save your lives, they wont, if others want to do so, they say; lets go to pray. This is the same way some foreigners poisoned both Abacha and Abiola to keep Nigeria down so they loot the country through their multi nationals and some Nigerians refered to the elimination of the former as a "divine intervention" without asking themselves why the "divine intervener" went ahead to eliminated the "victim" Abiola, Funny things happen in that country, Keep praying for divine intervention while these scarry and strange mutants keep eliminating your wives and children. Divine intervention ko, swine invasion ni? |

@righton, You come across as a gentle man. Fact is the STF commander Gen Omar Hassan married a christian woman.(He is a muslem but his wife was christian this is the fact) Please not that Even Hausa/Fulani chritains who live in Jos are NEVER put in harms way by fellow christian during and fight. they are considered as brothers. E.G Isa Elbuba of EBOMI ministries in Jos talk less of a woman. Please look for her murderers elsewhere. May her Gentle soul rest in Peace. An Christain that kills a baby will himself be killed by other Christains. OK let us do it like this Show me any article on the net from thos foreign site that confirmd the arrest of Nigerian security agent who attacked those villages and I will accept the some foreign news site are credible!!! I said a leopard cant chnge its spot cos you donot see the evil in killing many babies, women and strangers. This posture makes any look sympathetic to the evil doers. But I know you can help put thing right. everyone can. Lets just call white; white and black; black |
Re: Jos Burning Now! by owobokiri(m): 9:45pm On Jan 30, 2011 |
@lakode Bros, you are a bit wrong. I dont know whether you have lived in the north. I lived there. For years. Politics maybe the main issue that started this mayhem in Jos, but religion is also a big issue behind it. Dont use Yoruba muslims to judge, they are way ahead of their northern brothers. In the "core north" , southern muslims are looked down as being inferior. You can go and check. The fact is that northern musllims have been brain-washed into thinking they are the best muslims in town and that it is evil for a christian to rule them. That is why they always strive to dominate any state where they are co-habitating with christians. If you allow them to treat you as slaves- (like in Kaduna)- then the 'butchering' will be once in 3 or 5 years. If you chalenge this thinking-(as the people of jos are doing)- the 'butchering' will be a weekly or monthly event till you give up. I agree it has political angle but at this point, ethnic and religious determination to dominate has taken the fore front. The core-north has a serious problem to deal with , otherwise , they will be alone in no distant time. |

'Wild Wild West' by M.I. Yeah, I just wanna cry I just wanna know why my people struggling, they unified Wanna blame somebody, middle finger in the sky Let them linger while the anger you are feeling vaporize I just wanna pick a gun and start to run Where the evil ones honored upon the cranium Put the gun against their temple Squeeze the bullets into their mental Curses on my dental, so vengeful But with my pencil I stencil the pain Try my best to show the world events full of shame J. Town is peace but they try to cancel the name But even when the fire burns, the stain still remains When I heard I was like “Oh God, not her again” But in faith we remain, hoping for the day break Do whatever that it may take I heard somebody say Better get your guns Better get your vests Cause in J. Town it’s the wild wild west Down here everyone curse, no one bless Nobody care, nobody know tears So know this Until you feel the gun blast Nobody gon’ sleep and nobody gon’ rest Down here everyone curse, no one bless Cause in J. Town it’s the wild wild west Wishful is, my memories of peaceful bliss Now the streets full of all these sickfulness Evil is, not around where all of my people lives Will the evil quit? J. Town, I miss how you were Tell me, how did this occur? Now memories of peace are a blur You were so pretty I swore Driving through the city thinking this is not her She seems so strange When did she change? Blood on her streets, smoke in the sky Can’t feel her heart beat, blow hope in her eye. Muffins, coffins, bastards, caskets, mass burials How we gonna move past these? The sun is about to set, I’m getting ready for a war I feel it isn’t done yet M.I. (J-Town Artist) |

"The Only Thing Necessary For The Triumph Of Evil Is For Good Men To Do Nothing" - Edmund Burke The point now is to let our Northern countrymen to know is that the time is up. Enough is enough. The game is over! The country will split, you have no vision or strategy for our collective existence all you desire is a monopoly on power and subjugating others. It's time to split amicably, please lobby your elders, enough is enough The Northern States that adopted Sharia would be better served to combine forces and form a new Nation State,"you can't have your cake and eat it too". |
Re: Jos Burning Now! by ShangoThor(m): 10:44pm On Jan 30, 2011 |
Nigeria is meant to be a pluralistic society! The status quo can only be maintained by "divide and rule" or "divide and conquer", and this is why all over Southern Nigeria, we have to join forces to end this arrangement. The Northern States that adopted Sharia would be better served to combine forces and form a new Nation State,"you can't have your cake and eat it too". I doubt that there would any main objections to achieveing this goal by the other regions in Nigeria. |
