Your case is settled in Jesus name bro! Have faith and believe you got the visa already. What's the impact of agent on visa application?
Amen bro!!! We all will get it. I won't really know about the significance of an agent on any application. I believe in giving them what they want and no matter how frustrating the wait might be; a positive assessment will be the reward

Hey! Whats the update on ur application, which university did u apply to? Did u us and agent?

Charles Sturt University bro. I didn't use an agent. Hoping for a miracle this week
NB: No CO contact; just under assesment. I strongly believe each applicants app is peculiar and as such might have different processing time(be it long or short)

I think DIBP reviewed there documentation for AL1 schools cos Naija sabi spoil things that are to favor innocent ones. @santity100, you are absolutely right and now those February intake got favored with quick and easy visa grant and now making things hard for July intake. Sometimes mehn, I always hate been a Nigerian
Lool you've an opportunity to be a part of another community. Pray your visa is granted, it's kinda crazy what We Nigerians do out there. Also why is a country like Australia grading schools into AL1 and AL2. Cos if you look at it critically Al2 gets to pay tuition for at least a semester and get to show bank statement to show they can cope over there while AL1 do not, if you look critically the so called AL1 advantage is what is causing the issues/challenges cos the priveldge given to them is been taken for granted. Probably they eradicate the term AL1 Al2 Al3 and judge applicants based on genuineness. It's a developed country uno. Grading schools into group is kinda poor

Yes that's right bro! Counting the days sef, are we counting Saturday and Sunday together with it? I'm sick of this thing oo! Besides, nearly everyone e here are going to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane... never heard anyone going to Perth.. July resumption fast approaching my guy

I should think saturdays and Sunday's should be counted. Cos if otherwise it would have been started explicitly on the website. lol bro I'm going to a regional area Wagga Wagga. Haven't heard of anyone going there whether this year or last year. Irony of the whole thing is my orientation starts on the 4th of July

AL1 schools have been reviewed in March but they are not publishing it due to effect on the schools and application patterns.

RMIT was lenient requesting for less than 9k aud for deposit even when tuition fee deposit should have been above 16k aud for the semester.

Students took advantage of it during the February intake and most got visas and transferred to other schools while some didn't even resume.

That's bad and most students that apply to RMIT now should be ready because DIBP will probably request soa before approvals because of that risk

Yes sir, concerning the AL1 review as at march, are you talking about DIBP or RMIT

You applied April 25 and you haven't heard nothing from dibp? Mehn nawa o! I applied 12th May as well and haven't heard nothing but waiting for dibp to hit me direct grant

Bro that's what I'm expecting o Direct grant. I think there is a form of inconsistency with the DIBP in Pretoria. Cos with what @Jegz had said. His app is above 50 days

I have read the Pr thread and I discovered that post pple there are either engineers or in the medical Field. My husband has banking experience while I have administrative experience.

Check page 0, there is a link for fields that could apply for Pr. It is not limited to just engineering and medical fields, ask questions I'm sure the gurus there will put you through

Greetings house,

I am new here. I know this might be a bit inconveniencing and probably making u repeat what u might have probably said before.

Please, I am currently working as an Engineer in a firm in Nigeria. I have saved up a little amount and I need to further my education in Engr Mgt. at Melbourne; First degree Mechanical Engr with a second class upper division.

Please, I kindly need ur advice on what to do or how to go about it.
I know little or nowhere to start from.

Thanks n God bless

If you have experience, the best advice would be for you to go via PR ( permanent residency). When you arrive you can decide on what best to do over there or probably work.
NB: if your main aim is to stay back after schooling. The link below will help

Before i came to Australia to commence my studies, I always ask if I will be able to pay the second year tuition through savings and intensive work as i could only afford the first year fees (no thanks to our falling naira). I always wonder why nobody gave me a straightforward answer until I came here and got to know I was only asking a jamb question. Truly, its a difficult question to answer as what worked for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B.

Yes, you can get a Job to feed yourself and pay for accommodation. It's really gonna be hard if you wanna pay school fees yourself. Its actually very possible if you are the 'hustling' type. There are people doing it. But definately, you mustn't be lazy, unnecessarily choosy nor Lilly livered. You must be strong. Very strong.. Generally, i will say, if you can afford only one year tuition, take the risk. You never know what God will do.

Note that about 70% of jobs here will require you to have a car. Bring your driving licence and plan to buy a car as soon as you land. Bring lots of money to settle down(as much as possible).
By my observation so far, Aged care/disability jobs is the best for international students. But most times, one must be certified before he/She can be employed in an aged care facility, meaning you should also try as much as possible to start the course after settling down.

Yes. truly, one should enable to find schools around the cities where there are greater job opportunities. I av peeps in the cities that are changing jobs like diapers. work full everywhere.
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the likes.

I'm not in any of the cities I listed above. I'm in Geelong. (one hour from Melbourne). But its okay by me because apart from the low cost of living, I will grab my extra 5points when I finish my studies and start processing my PR. geelong is considered a regional area and no 5 extra points for those in big cities.

If your plan is to stay back after your studies. You must make sure you are coming to do a two-year program minimum. Also the course you are coming to study must not only be on the SOL/CSOL list, It also should be a course you think will 'stand the test of time' on the list, so you won't wake up one day and discovered your course is nowhere to be found on the list.

Australia is a very beautiful place. A multicultural society. The people are very friendly. They keep smiling at you like you just won 30billion.

hope I've not written too much epistle.. Okay let me drop my pen. cheers!

Thank you so much for an insightful post. Concerning the 5points, for those planning to stay and get their PR; will schooling in regional areas give an extra five points in your application

hi guys

I'm at this point where I need to make a serious decision about my life, and I want y'all candid opinions and advices

I graduated 4yrs ago but no job......now just when I'm processing my Australian student visa which allows me to work while studying, I got a job offer of 90,000naira monthly here in lagos

the job is to work as an accountant, it's a secured job with a lot of prospects and opportunities later on as I have just 2levels to complete my ICAN and be chartered

please nairalanders and the gurus in the house, your thoughts and contributions are welcomed so I won't make a blind decision, thank you so so much

God bless

Check the pros and cons of both options. What do I as an individual stand to gain from making a choice over the other and the detriments. I guess research will help you on that. And finally be confident and have believe in your choice. May the lord see you through

I think so, so they are taking their time. But with readings over previous parts; one, two three persons app stayed long also and were still approved. We should pray for favor. Might be their rush period
