JewelStone: I haven't been following the visa application timeline but things have definitely changed from the time I applied. DIBP is taking a lot longer now to process visas due to the increase in the number of applications from Nigeria, and they're also running more checks to ascertain genuine students.
I know the wait is hard on the applicants, I understand. But if you put in a decent application and your docs are real, hang in there, your visa will come through. If your application is more than 4 weeks, I would recommend sending them a polite email asking for an update on your application, quoting your full name, DOB, passport number, application number and your orientation date. I did this when my application was 2 weeks old and they responded the next day.
Goodluck to all the visa applicants, this country is worth the wait! Not so anymore with the mail thing. sent a mail and its four weeks now no reply. probably the work and apps are now too much |

Travel › Re: Masters Degree In Canada Or NYSC Program? by lakola: 6:12pm On Jun 15, 2017 |
segtak25: Good Afternoon ,
I need your Career advice on something have been thinking and researching on for some weeks now. i graduated from the University of Nigeria , Nsukka april this year. When I told my uncle Who had promised to sponsor me abroad for my Master degree earlier this year. He was very happy and said i should start the process for the admission in canada so that i can resume with them September 2018. According to him he said i should process the admission and Visa apllication when partaking in the compulsory Nysc.
The main Issue bothering me now is , I will be Mobilised for Nysc Program by november this year which will be completed October Nextyear(2018) Msc program in any institution in Canada starts September, that is a month before the completion of NYSC. Meanwhile, Institutions in canada commence course and other registartion for masters degree in August (2018).
There are two option i'm thinking of:
1.I am thinking of Skiping NYsC but afraid i might need it in future.
2.If i decide to put in for Nysc , There is a popular saying that "Opportunity knocks but once"..
We all know Nysc is getting smart everyday
Pls my fellow Nairalander , i need your advice on these .. This shouldn't be a problem. Your uncle has said he willl sponsor you and that you should prepare for next year. When you apply to a school in Canada especially research based masters you need to secure a supervisor; you might be lucky at your first attempt and you might have to send to more than one proffessor to accept you as his or her student. You still have to apply to the graduate school for you to be accepted; this process is normally first reviewed first by the graduate school then the department then back to the graduate school before you are given admission. Why am I saying all this? It takes weeks if not months for you to achieve this. So my advice for you will be to put in for your NYSC and be processing your admission concurrently. With that you will be able to use one stone to kill two birds PS: for the issue of your NYSC finishing by November and you having to resume fall(September) for your masters. Get close To people during your Nysc and if you get lucky to have secured your visa before September you can talk to your LI that you have to go for your masters and that someone will help you collect your Certificate. Same as your PPA. They might be lenient to you. Act smartly |

Fishlink: Hmmmm! Have to take heart anyway! Got my visa rejected with decision from DIBP yesterday. The worst part is I got 3 years ban from applying any visa to Australia. This happens as a result of employment letter which could not be verified. God will grant everyone expecting his/her visa on this platform. I would get immigration lawyer in Aussie so the ban could be waived cos my Aussie partner will be in Naija for marriage so I'll file for spouse visa Really sad to hear this bro. Pick yourself up and hope for the best. I wish you well bro |
Travel › Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by lakola: 11:56am On Jun 12, 2017 |
marriage way seems easy but it is the hardest means of staying here , you can't just come in to Australia and marry like that , their immigration policy is too hard , did you even know you can't be on 2 visa at a time , the moment you marry and apply for your spouse visa , you go be on bridging visa which will take months before you go on temporary let's say you lucky becuase they deny spouse visa application more than any other visa based on say no be only black men or Philippina women want paper , even whites won stay here , how den won do am ? MARRIAGE ! I bet with you that if you apply for your partner visa today , they'll deny ; ask me why ? Because it isn't genuine , you gonna have to proof to these people it's not a fake relationship , you go pay lawyer thousands ! Na money you go spend oo ! You go start organising parties , just to take pictures
I know so many people whey been say Oyinbo don almost ruin their life with mortgage ,domestic violence , depression ! Den go slap you and tell you if you mess up you go land for Multala Muhammed Lagos simply because she's helping you to stay here !
Do course that leads to pr , Pay your school fee brother and look for help
Nice bro!!! Can't be said any better. |
