globemoney01: For me, Soludo needs to make the bold move to demolish illegal buildings and roads in Anambra cities. This is the most importnt thing lacking in the state. He doesnt need to build any new satelite city, he needs to finish Awka Millenium city to drag the elites scattered across Nigeria back to the state since their is now an airport or their easy movement. He also needs to make sure the Anambra Airport functions to full capacity, infact the regional hub of air transport, I'm very sure Obiano could have made this happen if he had more time. The dualization of major Anambra roads is one thing Soludo must do. Before Obiano, banning Okada almost seemed impossible in the state, even the state owing an airport, as we were made to believe Anambra billionaire transporters and okada importers will never allow it happen. Obiano took the bold step to ensure these very important things were done regardless of who is offended. The next bold thing that should be done is demolishing houses built along the roads and compensation, then dualization of old and new roads. Very very important Umunnem, our pple are busy building on roads. Individuals are extending their fences on our roads. If u think I am lying drive through the current transport routes linking through Amawbia. Very wrong! |

Chikeluba25: What is this? I dey Ebonyi right now. Sebi nah this rough and poor finished concrete road they are doing there?? Guy if u visit Ebonyi you will hate concrete road. Your vehicle will jack until ur suspension system damage. No road mark. For me asphalt is the best My bro u lie..those roads are solid. In fact, I just read ur comment after I had already replied chimaA. Those roads in Ebonyi are clean and solid. All d way from Agbomege to Afikpo and then to Abakiliki,Dave Umahi tried on those roads. Ashphalts no be am Abeg. Maybe we should leave ashphalts for FG and use the concrete way for all our state roads |

ChimaAdeoye: For Soludo's emergency on roads repairs and reconstruction to be fruitful without eclipsing all state funds for other development, he must
1. Utilize CONCRETE Roads & Drainages USING DIRECT LABOUR 2. Revitalize the Anambra Roads Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to begin repairing all internal roads in the major urban centers with concrete. 3. Employ professional Engineers to lead the road ARMA in each major urban center where they are rebuilding the roads and drainages.
The concrete roads system using direct labor has been successfully used by poorer states to build cheap durable roads that have continued to last to date. Only very challenging intrastate roads should be awarded to contractors with relevant experience to do because of the engineering challenge and bridges required on such roads.
This method also improves the skillset of many youths who gain vital experience in roads construction and design which they can utilize in helping their communities build their own durable roads through communal effort and without the use of expensive roads construction companies.
The new roads being constructed in Ebonyi by Dave Umahi should be wat is obtainable in Anambra henceforth. Enough of archaic roads built with bad coal tar. The tiny one at Amawbia bye pass where the traffic police have their tiny shelter is an example...days after it was constructed the road went bad again. Concrete is d way now for roads in d east. They last longer Roads need be carved out in those Amawbia hoods for cases of security emergency as we have now. Individuals building and extending fences where dey ain’t suppose to build should have their fences broken down for entrenching on govt roads. Our roads are always tiny because pple break the laws of building |

Obi1kenobi: Nothing embarrasses me more as an Igbo man than Ndigbo who claim to be Jewish descendants Ignoring the historical and anthropological illiteracy of the claim, it portrays us as having a very deep inferiority complex which we think will be assuaged by amplifying the most tenuous links to an alien tribe who we believe to be a superior race of people: God's chosen people. Ezigbote alu ka obu! An insult to our ancestors and a perversion of our heritage. That's how we disgrace ourselves flying Israel flag upandan. Very embarrassing and annoying to the ears. Nnamdi Kanu and some others tend to propagate this belief to most of our pple too. Everything about that postulation reeks of a very low self esteem |

OreMI22: One hopes that he has a robust media presence, especially on social media. One of the greatest things I LOVE about Obiano is that he actually has a Facebook and Youtube page!
Obiano is the 1st Anambra leader that I'm aware of that has his own social media handles. Not pages of his media aids such Valentine Obienyem's page announcing Peter Obi's projects. That is why we rarely can find any of Peter Obi's projects on social media because he never had a social media handle. it was also part of the reason that he was unreachable even by ordinary citizens who just wanted to complain about his commissioners or something important on the Governor's Facebook or youtube page to reach him.
I hope Soludo will emulate Obiano and maintain social media pages not just to document his activities for posterity but also to make himself reachable by those whose only way of reaching the governor is via social media.
https://www.facebook.com/WillieObiano
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyMBZdJ_f5FV1XSCFIE3piA Very important Especially on popular platforms like Twitter and Facebook. These two SM platforms are usually at the reach of every average Nigeria. You see how Lagos state govt use the Twitter platform? That should be the way Anambra Govt should be on SM henceforth. Most of our SE reps and politicians have zero SM presence. That’s why the citizens feel so disconnected. I know how many times Ariaria dirty market has trended on SM but Ikpeazu and his team seem absent on that platform...only Sam Hart collects all the accolades and trolls on Abia state. Also check out the BMC crew. You know why dey keep winning most media attacks and arguments? Check am na. Even though most times they choose to be blind to the realities on ground. Check out Omasoro Ali Ovie on Twitter and see things |

That is called dignity and self respect Exactly I find those Jewish talks by our pple so irritating. Na those talks dey make these outsiders on d other side of the Niger dey laugh us silly. tshtsh: I'd like to congratulate the people of Anambra on the election of chukwuma Charles Soludo. Even though I'm not from anambra state I believe governance is a serious business and should not be left in the hands of people who have not proven themselves as successful leaders of even a 10-man institution. I don't know anything about the politics of anambra but based on his profile I'd have voted for him if that was my state. Thank u so much our brother We also pray God replaces kerosene and dirty governors from your state (Abia) with competent leaders in Abia,Imo,Enugu states. Thank u again |

Congratulations Umunnem We did it. The enemies of our fatherland didn’t succeed this time around. We were able to unite and protect our state because Anambra is all we have.
Like I was telling someone on phone who had fears of violence in this past election,I told her to calm down nothing will happen, the election will come and go in peace and hustle and bustle will continue. I indeed tried to calm her fears and the she called on Saturday to tell me that she even voted.
~We pray for everlasting peace and calm in Anambra. ~We pray God give Soludo the wisdom to choose qualified cabinet members for his govt. ~We pray for long life and prosperity to all Anambraians in the forth coming dispensation.
Congratulations to Soludo

Anambrarians are not smiling with trouble makers attacking the once peaceful state. This is seen as most of them match to their various INEC centers to get their PVCs.
Our monitoring team moved round the state and got some pictures of mammoth crowd at a collection centre in Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Indeed, Anambrarians are silently sending a message to those who are out to see that the state burns at this time. Indigenes could be seen in little little circles discussing about the election proper and how nothing will deter them from casting their votes come Saturday.

Furious1: This is a very interesting debate topic, minus the non oil sector, Anambra state will be absolutely more Viable than Rivers but Rivers State economy is gradually shifting from oil and gas. [s]Rivers economy is actually stronger than you think[/s], however Rivers State to a very good extent depends on Onitsha for imports, most goods from Lagos go straight to Onitsha then from Onitsha to other places including Rivers State, Rivers State is also heavily dependent on Aba, the richest population in Rivers State are from South east zone, south East also constitute the Highest population just after The Rivers State Igbos, ndi Anambra in particular will always do their shopping in Onitsha and they constitute a huge part of Rivers State commerce that's why goods will always move from Onitha to Rivers. It's going to be hard to decipher the dominant Economy in this area, states seem to be dependent on each other. The only reason we're not seeing this dependency is because of Oil and gas and Rivers State has plenty of that, as the state further moves away from oil and gas, things will become clearer. But as it is Rivers State is more Industrial, I think Anambra is more commercial but overall Rivers should have it, the entire Rivers State is laced with oil, when I say entire I mean edge to edge Absolutely There’s nothing there, remove the already drying up shores and the college of bunkering. Anambra is competing with Lagos |

With the recent happenings, every Anambrarian should guard Anambra jealously and lift the spirit of Anambra any where any time. It is very obvious we have enemies within and outside who wants to see Anambra crumble. Criminals and touts needs to be sent parking out of our state. The image of Anambra should be very important to every Anambrarian henceforth. Invaders and destroyers shouldn’t tell us what to do in our fatherland. Lastly, the economic growth of the heartlands (Onitsha/Nnewi) of Anambra should not be allowed to wither. Those are part of the Anambra pride.
