On our way to a function yesterday we drove through this badly damaged street road around EkeAwka axis (Sammy sparkle) and we learned this road as well as that of Dike’s street were meant to be upgraded during Peter Obi’s tenure. So so pathetic With so much fanfare and enough paparazzi then, the roads weren’t constructed. The person who took the contract wasn’t punished,Nobody was called out, no query.. nothing nothing. The road as well as others keeps deteriorating everyday. Let’s continue

Anambra is my state and I have no problem with persons dropping criticisms about my state in as much as it is a healthy one. Criticise with an open mind and not with droplets of bad belle. When you are happy for others good things will always locate you. |
Juliusmalema:This is a thread on development in the state and anyone living in Anambra, indigene or not has the right to expression on this thread..okay?! |
FreeIgbos:Lol dey disguise. If u know u know. Only one person with thousands of monikers. They freely throw insults to anybody posting here and are quick to call Mynd44 to ban. They can’t take half of what they dish. The fact remains that pple will continue to say their mind on this forum be it pleasing or unpleasant. |
MysteryShopper:You truly lack manners and basic nettiquette. Pls grow up. Thanks |
MysteryShopper:You're too troublesome. |
90% of the people who visit and post on this thread are not even indigenes of Anambra State. Some don't reside in the state and dont even know half of what is truly going on in the State. |
MysteryShopper:You seem to be a troublesome person. You are always fighting one poster or the other why? Stop attacking persons here, Allow pple to say their mind pls. Anambra airport will be the best, let's hope contractors do their job well. |
The gridlock at State CID road from Amawbia roundabout to a section of Zik Avenue every morning is uncalled for. What’s the sense in reopening of that road?why block a lane completely and have cars, buses, trucks and trailers jam packed on the other lane? Why is most things in this part of the country always done differently? Pls the entire roads be opened and let’s car move freely. |
You pple have resumed dragging the innocent airport on this thread. Anambra elections is around the corner and our outmost interest should be having a governor of the pple not an effigy imposed by anybody on us. A clear warning should start going out in print on the disastrous consequence of imposing anybody on the indigenes of the state. Let us choose our governor ourselves without intruders. Anambra no be IMO state...Nuff said |
This may sound a bit awkward..Nothing must happen to Anambra’s illustrious son,Obi Cubana. The media frenzy and digging of pasts by bed belle pple looks like it won’t end any time soon. Some are lowkey hoping he will be disgraced like our other Son,Invictus Obi or pointed out for something bad, some already calling him a saboteur simply because he took shots with AKyari Lol ...our Father in heaven will shock them.

hammerDK:Pls can u stop typing in caps. It’s rude and disturbing |
Grgton:That’s ur problem ![]() |
Mathoj:Oga no vex o. But comments like this are beginning to irritate me. We have gone past this stage of comparing the terminal building to that of a market, some will compare it to that of a poultry house. Honestly,e don do! Whatever the terminal looks like I think the most important things we should be looking out for should be the airport finishings, other important equipment, the runway etc We have gone past the warehouse/poultry farm comparison stage. |
ChineduAIaegbu:Lol But the burial really made the town Oba popular. A burial that’s been discussed till now on Twitter and on Facebook? U sef check am na ![]() I have been seeing threads upon threads about Cubana and his friends, even Hausa pple dey drop comments sef. But one reoccurring issue in most of the comments by non igbos wic is used in throwing jabs at us is the state of our roads. You know, seeing that we are better than them in most ramifications, they couldn’t stomach it so they look for one obvious truth to darken our mood. Our roads is that truth they’ve been using to boost their jealous spirits. Govt should pls do more for our ROADS. Lastly,A look into this particular Facebook post and the comments on will show u how much the minorities see igbos. Just go read the comments under the post. Anambra to the world biko.

Now that the State CID road is halfway opened, I still maintain that the entire road and lanes be entirely opened for commuters to drive round the town easily. I see no point in opening one lane instead of the two lanes because it builds a heavy gridlock. You need to see the hold up from Amawbia bypass up to Adam and Eve axis and then down to State CID. It’s not usually funny especially when one has to drive through to work. Lastly, commuters are currently groaning on the high transport fare even after the road has been unblocked. The bus drivers in turn explain it isn’t their fault but that of the touts charging them for loading passengers. Even after the road has been opened, Why still maintain same charges like as if the roads are still blocked. ie. the touts still charge same fare during and after d shutdown of the road? It is unfair on the part of the commuters. Lastly, the internal streets and lanes of some Awka settlements need serious drainage construction. Very few gutters in the streets thereby leading to an overflow during the rains. Not just overflows they also leave deep dirty ponds on the streets which in turn serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. |
So Stella Oduah and Uche Ekwunife were absent in the senate’s plenary session to give life to a new and digital kind of electioneering. These are two Anambra Senators. Some Anambrarians are already seeking for their recall. Good move |
Govt and all ifite Awka indigenes should think deeply on how to bring the menace of cultism and killings to a halt. The area is becoming deserted..soon those areas will become a graveyard. Nobody wants to live in an area where he keeps living in fear. Yesterday’s shoot out, four persons were gunned down. Pathetic |
I still repeat While the govt gradually opens up the State CID road..alternative routes previously used by commuters during the shutdown should be fixed as a matter of urgency. Because no one knows what the future holds or if we will still experience a deadlier gun men attacking security outfits. I wish someone I in d govt will whisper it in the ears of Akpokuedike global. |
Shootings this evening around ifite/Unizik axiz. Pple scampering for safety. The gist says cult boys are on shooting spree. I thought our state capital is calm with d reintroduction of ‘Bakassi’ boys? |
While the FG reconsiders the reopening of the state road. State govt should also prepare to fix the alternative routes used by commuters since the past three months. This should be done in Ernest in case of future threats. The insecurity in our land has further exposed some little inefficiency like the roads in our capital..Awka roads are beautifully bad. Govt, Fix our roads. |
And so finally State CID road has been opened from 6-4pm. I am still of the opinion that the entire road be opened at all time..6-4pm doesn’t make sense for a state capital still struggling to fix her limited roads. Open the entire road and ease commuters burden. Can u see the heavy gridlock on this road?

Come November we hope and pray God gives us a leader after his heart because Anambra has lots of work to do in terms of infrastructure. More and more pple are flocking in to the state and the existing infrastructure can't contain us anymore. |
I still can’t understand why a growing city like Onitsha should have touts positioned on our Onitsha highways collecting illegal tolls/fee. On whose order are these touts acting on? Why should things be this way in Alaigbo? Honestly, I still cringe at the mention of the actualisation of Biafra because we ain’t ready eziokwu. Isn’t it obvious we might end up killing ourselves? The man to man wickedness and anya ukwu in our SE is appalling. How can a commercial driver who is toiling day in day out be paying illegal tolls to agberos positioned on some strategic places from Onitsha down to oye agu? There are about five illegal tout stands for collection of these monies..No na. |
Pls can someone tell whosoever to tell whosoever that it’s high time govt appealed the reopening of State CID road. It’s overdue pls..SE is calm now. That road should be opened so that Obiano can fix those tiny street roads commuters have been using for over three months. This is the time those roads should get fixed while Zik Avenue gets reopened. This Dec ga di kwa egwu because ndi lotara nu ka nku biko.

The heavy gridlock at head bridge today ehnnn no be am. Wahala wear skinny jeans today |
Rocksvibes234:If that’s a gutter I am seeing in the first pic I suggest that it should be covered. No open drainage on the road that leads to d airport bfor we start seeing garbage in d open gutter. Also why are pple already building close to the airport already without the authorities knowing? Why is a law being made when offenders are already doing what they liked. This is how things will be overlooked and in no distant time our airport environment will start looking like Eke awka market or Ariaria market site. Govt should make laws on time and mark the airport area with close eyes. Nobody should go there and start building shanties and nonsense structures. |
Anytime I visit Nawfia this Ave Maria bus stop road gives me joy. The trees on this road, the calm on this road reminds me of a downtown street in Los Angeles
|
Our state capital keeps deteriorating...the roads in Awka keeps washing off with the intense rain. Awka don’t have good roads. Going to Nibo from Awka is another story |
Anambra also needs to look into her waste management. Who is d commissioner responsible for state capital’s garbage evacuation..every nook and cranny of Awka seems to have a pile of dirts. Zik Avenue has piles of rubbish positioned in between d roads...which is very bad. Awka is too dirty and it stinks. This is me saying it mildly. |
...our Father in heaven will shock them.
