It seems price dropping is normal then... If only Samsung can go the way of xiaomi also, creating separate brand that focus on online sales only, no crazy advertisements just to make the price cheaper or Xiaomi should enter US market and compete with those big boys

Both moves will spell disaster for both brands:

1. Samsung selling cheap, less-quality phones will change people's perception of them as a premium brand and alienate rich buyers from Western nations, their major market. They are already known as king of smartphones. It's best they maintain that crown. Can you imagine Apple selling cheap low quality phones?

2. Xiaomi entering US market is a good dream, but a dream that can never come true. They copied a lot from Apple and their saving grace for now is that they have no physical presence in US. Few Americans who like them have to order their products overseas. Apple will sue them into oblivion if they officially enter American market. Besides Americans despise Chinese brands that they suspect could be spying on them for Chinese government. See what happened to Huawei and ZTE brands in America.
