fubbyy: I didn't said his father is sponsoring me just to be with him, that's just my thought, though am sure it must be one of the reasons but his dad's main reason of doing so is to pay back my late mum what she did for him many decades agoYou lost all credibility here. You and your cousin need to grow the eff up, your priorities are frivolous. |
fubbyy: nice 1 butHe made it sound like it's impossible to make friends. You can make friends anywhere if you aren't stuck on yourself. Coming from a wealthy family doesn't exclude someone from having criminal tendencies. Just saying... |
dahonestboss: what did you understood by my definition of ''Houston is like Naija''?I know what you meant, mutt. Was just being snarky cos of this epic crass statement you spewed from your azzhole: ''The western countries are generally like how your Cousin Prescribe. Even if you make all the money, you will usually be bored especially when you have spent a considerable amount of your life in Naija. Visiting and/or tourism, is usually the best, not staying for a long period of time'' So save your ''education'' for your self. dahonestboss: A Nigerian would most likely feel at home in Houston compare to other placesHeight of crassness. Typical example of what I pointed out earlier. Why would a Nigerian travel all the way to Houston and then expect to feel at home(aka eat amala and egusi, hang out with Nigerians exclusively, and attend owambe parties every weekend etc...)? Why even bother to travel? Retrogressive mofos. |
dahonestboss: The western countries are generally like how your Cousin Prescribe. Even if you make all the money, you will usually be bored especially when you have spent a considerable amount of your life in Naija.Dumb Erm, Houston is not just like Naija. It has the highest percentage of Nigerians living in the Us, but It's not like Naija. The difference is like day and night. I don't understand why people will leave Nigeria, and then insist on hanging out with Nigerians in a foreign country. I didn't travel thousands of miles to come and hang out with Nigerians. If I want to live with Nigerians, I'll stay in Nigeria. I live and breath diversity |
Everybody, their mother and their mother's friend are now giving advice on life in foreign countries. Including those who don't even own passports. SMDH @OP I don't live in the US, but I have friends and relatives there who are doing very fine. It depends on the state/city you are going to, and what you want to make of your life while you are there. Just make sure you are a legal immigrant. I believe the best way to go there is through school, unless you have a family member that can sponsor you. If you do your homework well, you should be fine. Your cousin's advice is pretty dumb 1. People might not be as friendly as in Nigeria, but you can still make friends if you are sociable. It aint rocket science. 2. The US is an organized/developed country where the rule of law thrives. Nigeria, not so much. It's quite certain that your cousin prefers lawlessness. Who knows, he probably has criminal tendencies. 3. Not applicable to me. 4. Personally, I'd rather be comfortable/modestly rich in a safe, clean and urban country with high quality of life, than be stinkingly rich in an unsafe country with low quality of life. |
Pictures 1, 7, 9, 10 and 11 are breathtaking! Picture 4 is creeeeeeeepy ![]() |

akereconfi: I still dey wait oKeep waiting for your uber uuggly face to hit the front page. Don't find something useful to do with your life |
I'm getting real sick of all these silly threads. Jobless mofos posting pictures of themselves and celebrities all the time ![]() On a side note, Denrele is always wearing the same clothing everytime. Dude needs a stylist. . . and a psychic. |
olukojo: If you say that Paris is busier than London, or receives more visitors, I wonder why London Heathrow Airport is busier than Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. You couldn't have been more wrong. Heathrow might get more traffic than CDG. But Paris is still the most visited city on earth! There are other means of transportation, go figure. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta is the busiest airport in the ENTIRE WORLD. But Atlanta isn't the most visited city in the US. NYC and Orlando take that honor. And no, I'm not a cheerleader for Paris. Just pointing out that having a busy airport doesn't always translate to being the most desirable/visited city. |
You gotta be kidding me. This is one of the worst threads I've ever read on Nairaland. Jor oooo |
justwise: Everybody will not see it the same way, some topics are sent to fp to provoke comments whether for or against and keep people reading for more than 5-10mins thats what brings traffic to the site.Nah, I didn't say the thread is front page material. Was just disagreeing with your claim that ''material that goes to front page is one that is news worthy'' Actually, most threads that go to FP are trash can materials. I guess it's all about generating traffic. |
justwise: Yes he is asking for help and getting the help here, material that goes to front page is one that is news worthy and will generate traffic to nairaland, i don't see this topic do that.We must be looking at different front pages. |
I hate it when people travel to foreign countries and insist on eating their ethnic food. Are you saying there's absolutely nothing edible in China? Or will you die if you don't eat your ethnic food in a month or more? Besides, this is an opportunity for you to try out new cuisines. Chinese food aint bad. When in Rome. . . |
Where are you relocating from? Where would you like to live? What's your budget? What will you be doing in Port Harcourt? If you need detailed info, you should be precise with your questions. I can't help you. But others can help you if you provide more information about what you want. |
I feel sorry for her, risking her life like that. She'd rather die than go back to Nigeria, that says something. UKBA should have mercy on her and let her stay with her 'husband' Btw, if she's 19 then I'm 10. |
Very nice Cathedral |
Zizi Cardow looking glam as usual |
tensazangetsu: chei you be wicked girl. @op even mcdonalds no go employ you.OP already asked in another thread if she can work in the US with a visiting visa, and she was given the right answer. Now she's asking about working with HND, what do you want me to say? Lol Step84: Pls I want to find out what my pay will be like if I get a job in the US with my HND computer science? Thanks a great deal!Ask Google |
$500,000 per year. . . |
ferdimako: Yeah she can...when in US she switches to her dream school.OK, thanks. |
Hi all. I have a question for grad students in the US. My cousin applied for Phd admissions to three schools. The three schools admitted her, but the school she likes most admitted her for a Master's program, instead of a Phd. Their reason is because her Master's is not really related to the program she applied for. So they asked her to do a Master's first, then Phd. The thing is, she prefers this program and location of the school. But she feels the VO might frown upon her going for a second Master's. Her plan is to apply for a visa for Phd, then switch to the Master's program once she gets to the US. Can this plan work? Thanks |
^^^Paris is consistently rated as the most visited city in the world, followed by London. The OP also stated that he was denied UK Visa last December. I'm surprised you missed that part ![]() |
fados4sure: Instead of you to give him good advise, you are there talking rubbish... Am in Cyprus now and I can categorically tell you that Victoria Island is more beautiful than all the town in Cyprus...Wow, I din't know Cyprus is that bad. |
steph7: Dhow's shopping in spain, I am actually a bit confused on where to go between france and spain, dunno if I can afford both. Please where will u suggest btw france and spain, I am not a fan of any sort of art, wud like beaches , shopping and just having fun in allShopping is definitely better in France, Paris to be precise. But there are no beaches in Paris, you'll have to go to the south for that(Marseille, Corsica, French Riviera etc). That shouldn't be a problem as there are Speed Trains that will take you to any part of France. And they are quite efficient. Barcelona is closer to beaches if that matters to you, but has less shopping and is less fun than Paris. In my opinion. If you can afford both, fine. Spain is cool, but France is better for what you want. |
MissRaissa: You are out for blood. I feel like your hatred for Nigeria is personal. Maybe a Nigerian person hurt you in the past or you are just another victim of propaganda journalism.LMAO. You are calling me ignorant and ill-informed simply because I don't agree with what you are saying? That says a lot about you. How dare you compare Nigeria with Jamaica? Jamaica doesn't even have the population of Lagos state, and doesn't even come close to being as endowed as Nigeria in terms of mineral and natural resources, except for the few wonderful beaches that attract a lot of tourists. Haiti and Dominican Republic, really? Talk of ignorance at it's height!!! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'm not a victim of propaganda journalism and I don't hate Nigeria. I'm just massively disappointed and I pray things will get better. I don't care about how many Nationalities you have, it doesn't make you a smart. And it's certainly not my cup of cappuccino. |
justwise: No you should have visited at least half of the 36 states then speak from an informed position. How many countries have you visited to be able to compare like-to-like with Nigeria?I haven't been to a lot of countries in the world, but I've been to a handful and it's none of your business. You might want to stay on topic. I know Nigeria more than you think I do, not just from video clips of hungry people. Nice try. I'm just incredibly disappointed that a country with such vast amount of both human and natural resources can be where Nigeria is right now. I dunno, maybe things will change. And I pray they do. But I really don't care about forced patriotism. Home is where I want it to be, being a woman makes it a lot easier for me. |
justwise: Again all that you listed is not peculiar to Nigeria, i could see the sense in your argument if you are talking about some states but to suggest that Nigeria as whole is a sh#thole is nothing short of madness. Why don't you go ahead and tell me about the developed states which you claim are more than the underdeveloped ones? I might want to visit them, or probably research on them for attitudinal change. Other persons reading this thread might be interested too. Yeah, the things I listed are not peculiar to Nigeria. But they are miles more profound in Nigeria than in any other country I've ever been to. Like I stated in my 3rd post, calling Nigeria a sh!thole might be a bit of a stretch. So no offense to anyone. If you want to take it personal, that's your bizwaxx. |
