God is so so so deep and the revelation each one of us have of Him is different. It depends majorly on the dispensation.

Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

From the above verse, God made us to know that He is deeper than we can imagine, so He is I AM THAT I AM. Meaning He is what He is.

However, to put a name to it He told moses that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who are great men knew Him as God Almighty, but by His name. JEHOVAH was He not known to them. God revealed Himself to moses alone as Jehovah, no wonder he performed miracle becos he had a higher revelation of God's manifestation than Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who didn't perform jark.
