Itsrm: Cbn said the old notes have been destroyed. The judgment is useless at best.
What we need now is for the supreme court to order the CBN to release more new notes or more of the lower denominations The old notes are still in bank vaults. It hasn't been destroyed. The Supreme Court cant order the CBN to release more new notes since that's what they should be doing logically. |

DissTroy: I didn't see this. Please send me a link. I want to know the specifics. The video or news link.
They have packages for tech startups? Wow! Nice. They should let us know.
Wema Bank is a Juggernaut in the tech space. We need Zenith and UBA with the money to enter the race.
Too many VC opportunities else they'd keep losing to foreigners. The board of Flutterwave and PayStack have been taken over by whites. We need more indigenous investors. I'll look for the video and drop the link here. Sterling is seriously breathing down the neck of Wema though wema has the edge because they are sort of the pioneers. Apart from Paystack that still use wema virtual account for settlement religiously, most now interchange between Wema and Sterling, then we have moniepoint that's gaining ground little by little. Investment in tech is on the rise and it will continue to rise, we just need those with the funds to be able to see the potentials. |

DissTroy: He was the most passionate. That's why I mentioned it. Even the Ministers of Science and Tech, Trade and Investments, and Communication didnt drive it.
BAT and Atiku didn't really talk about techbmuch. Obi barely scratched the surface. It worries us.
We should surpass India in ICT GDP and revolution. We can do it. We have the skills but need the right conditions.
Currently, only Wema Bank has aligned with the tech industry. Others are just oil and gas. You didnt pay any attention to BAT during the campaign so dont say they didnt talk about Tech. BAT did a whole interactive session with Tech guys to discuss his tech policy and hear their view. It is in this interactive session that Iyin and the founder of Patricia spoke. Sterling is catching up with Wema already. |

VoteTinubu2023: Anybody bringing a case of election fraud/rigging is bringing it against INEC not APC/Tinubu.
Tinubu has nothing to worry about. It is Nigeria's hard earned money that will be used for the legal defense of the election results.
How lucky can one be? It will be against INEC as first respondent and APC as Second respondent. At least that's the reasonable thing to do. |

DissTroy: I don't think so. The man who was driving it, Osinbajo, is almost gone and removed from heading the NEC.
Here's the analysis I did of it while debating ways forward for the tech startup industry in Nigeria in the Programming Section just 2+/weeks ago. I dont think so. Osibanjo is not the only one that can drive tech in the country. This thinking that if one man is not there, nothing can be done is not one I subscribe to. |

DissTroy: Statistica is wrong. WorldBank is the closest.
But download the GDP report from the website of the Naitonal Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria. It think they have as far back as 2013 or 2015.
Don't ever judge with Statistica. If you doubt me, compare what it says about Nigeria's total 2022 GDP and what the NBS published. At odds.
AfteeQ2, as global crunch hit and tech startups began laying off, the GDP from oil decreased. Sad because India makes almost as much money from ICT as half I'd Nigeria's GDP. We can do more. Statistica is just the safest one I could lay my hands on. If you check the NBS, its the same thing. Agriculture has consistently been the highest contributor to our GDP for some years now. I remember that in one of the conversations I've had on the Chelsea thread, I have consistently said that the economy has been diversified away from oil for a while now. We just need more investments and proper stable policies in these other sector to harness the huge potentials that we have especially in manufacturing. I do agree that we can do way more than we are currently doing though especially in ICT. Hopefully with the Start up bill passed into law, things can begin to take shape. |

A001: That's why I said the government shouldn't allow too many people from any specific ethnic group (except Yoruba) to dominate the state, and larride dey mention rights.
Also, instead of many indigenes selling their ancestral lands to people from other ethnic groups, they should lease out the lands. The right to live and do business anywhere in the country is guaranteed by the constitution. Now I do agree that lands should be leased and not sold. There has been talk that Lagos State govt will review the land use acts but we will see how it goes. |

Theflint1: True, I have a sense that voter turnout increased, at least down south this election cycle, so was surprised seeing turnout in polling units in mine and those around me being around 15%. That useless naira scarcity contributed to it. My Polling unit was 30mins away fron me, if not that it's a bound duty for me to vote, I would have stayed at home. I had to leave home around 7 so I can find a bike man that will collect transfer to take me to my polling unit, I stayed for more than 30mins before I saw bike willing to take transfer. That nonsense policy was one of the major cause of the voters apathy. |

It flows for all. Let's stop this nonsense of man's land or not.
Sean, you are seriously going over board. You're stoking unnecessary flames.
A001, I'm surprised by what I'm hearing from you. This is quite unlike you. Laride, how far na? when you become ethnic champion. Right now na only APC don corrupt your soul, let tribalism not collect the other half. Ejoor Abeg abeg abeg On this same board, me and izzou has had disagreement on the Lagos is a no man land tag. You can read my conversation with A001 to know exactly what I believe the problem is. What they are using to beat GRV, GRV supplied it by himself. Lagos is Yorubaland and will remain so. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 8:46pm On Mar 02, 2023 |
A001: When you take in some many people from other ethnic group and sell most of your ancestral lands to them, they'd overtake your land.
It's a no-brainer. It's this same reason that countries like the US, the UK, Canada and many others have a maximum of number of immigrants they accept yearly.
Also, it's for the same reason why they make it hard for immigrants to become citizens.
They do so to prevent nonsense like "Lagos is a no man's land".
You can be inclusive and accommodating, but know where to draw the line. Well as right as you are, the constitution accord every citizens the right to live and do business in any part of the country they like. That right is sacrosanct and must be respected. It is on those that come to other people's land to respect the culture, tradition and way of life of the owners of the land. That I sell land to you does not give you the right to say the state as a whole belongs to nobody. It is a fallacy that cannot stand. All we should be preaching is respecting each other and know when to draw the line, if not the state govt will be pressured to take a stand and it can all goes sideways from there. |
