BusinessRe: How These 3 Businesses Can Change Your Life by Larryhoover(m): 12:07pm On Jun 30, 2018
Lesgupnigeria:
I have stated in some of my articles written on this platform how to identify a profitable business and start one.

I will be sharing from my own personal experience what is obtainable and guaranteed to make you money if rightly followed although I will be limited to agribusiness which is my area of core expertise.

Many years ago, as a graduate looking for ways to add value to my country and make money at the same time, the nearest I could think of is venturing into agriculture, not because it's the in thing but because of the simple statistics that we would have billions of mouth to feed with Nigeria being the 3rd most populous country in the world by 2050.

In Lagos alone, lagosians pays about 8 billion naira per day for food according to Lagos state government, this is different from other cities and countries in Africa.
This is the huge potential this industry has.

The agric sector has a long chain from the food produced by the farmer to the table of the consumer.

From my experience, not all agribusiness are profitable (depending on circumstances which I will explain later).

To cut the long story short, these 3 agribusiness are profitable and if you want to venture or invest into it, it's the way to go.

NOTE: All agribusiness mentioned here are some of the ones I have been involved in and make profit from.

1. Plantain Farming:
Anybody who want to venture into agribusiness should venture into it. it's recommended.
A plantain farm can survive for 25 years if we'll managed.
For instance,if you have 5000 suckers on your farm, you can be assured of 10,000 suckers in the second year because they would have brought out daughter suckers which you can use to expand your farm.
The fact that prices are also good, consevatively at N700-1500 per bunch. You can do the maths.

For every business, there is corresponding risks.
If you want to start this profitable business, make sure the soil and weather conditions are favorable for it.
Many years ago, I made a mistake which cost me time, money and energy because I planted in an unfavorable area.
Moreover, you need to plan for irrigation as well.
I was invited to setup a farm in abeokuta; on getting there I asked couples of farmers who live in that area and know the area well, about the weather condition, the report was negative so we had to abandon the farm project.

There are different risks and challenges that should be adequately managed to make profit and with my decade experience, I can help you manage them well.

Let experience people guide you so you don't make the same mistake.
If you want to set up or to manage your agribusiness, I am available to help.

You can also invest with us in our plantain farm estates in ogun state.
Good ROI is guaranteed.

MY EXPERIENCE AT UI YESTERDAY ( TUESDAY 15TH) (MSc UK)

MY OWN CASE WAS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS WITHIN THE SAME UI. (UI used 3 panels today)

From my own personal experience , the interview has no standard pathern .....you could be asked anything .......

below are my experience today at UI, IBADAN (Msc) .....

1. after i introduced myself .....immediately they learnt i was from the EAST ( IGBO ORIGIN) , they waited for like 2 mins and started murmoring to each other in Hausa language ....(All of the 5 persons that made up the panel were Hausas).

2. i was not asked a single question from my SOP ....they didnt even open it ....nor cared about it.

3. All the questions i was asked were deep, tough and technical (Civil engineering questions ) my 1st degree course .
( one of them is a Prof of Civil Engineering ) ....NOTE : THIS IS OUTSIDE THE CONTEXT OF THE INTERVIEW....recall that from the invitation letter, we were only told to make a presentation of our Statement of Purpose .......This is very unfair to me .

4. i was asked up to 10 questions ......and my interview lasted up to 25min . ( while others were asked barely 2 questions from their SOP ...with a max interview duration of 4min)

5. I was asked several questions about my projecf work .....and when i explained the title and summary to them......they nullified it ...simply because it was not an oil and gas related project topic .....despite how best i tried to convince them ...that it was just an undergraduate project ..and must not be oil and gas related.

6. i was even given some tough and complex calculations to do (structural analysis of indeterminate structures.....and i was not even allowed to solve , i was told to produce the answer without solving ......which was practically impossible ......i told them the steps to solve it ....they nullified it...insisting i must produce the answer.

7. And one of them kept shouting "you dont even have any publication ".......( i didnt know when it became a compulsory for an undergraduate to have research publications)

8. And two others kept asking "what state are you from ".......

MY CONCLUSION : PTDF is dominated by the Northerners and they are BITTERLY BIASED .....they seems to appear harsh on some persons from a particular part of the country .

Using a WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST to assess everyone would have been fair to all the applicants and not this Biased method of interview where some are barely asked 1 simple and funny question in PANEL (1) and some others in PANEL (2) OR (3) within the same Centre will be bombarded with very rigorous questions that is outside the context of the interview ... this is NOT a reliable and transparent method of selecting the Best. i believe all candidates should be given equal opportunities and assessment.

This is one of the major reason why Nigeria is a failed state..........NEPOTISM AND TRIBALISM .....
Hello Brother... Can you please share me your number, I have some queries I would like to clarify as regard Ibadan Center, I ll appreciate your prompt response.

Nice one OP.

Human engineering is the major factor causing set backs and failures of businesses in Nigeria and I would like to recommend to people in leadership role and even everyone to do training on Dale Carnegie's courses to assist in development of human relationship. I believe there would be improved performance after the training.

We always clamour for good governance but how on earth would we get it if we can't be men/women of our words/integrity?

when you were not sure of the authenticity of the news, why would you be the Herald, knowing too well the gravity and importance of this information to the concerned fellows?

Next time, I would advice you to confirm how authentic your information is before letting out to the public.

PoliticsIndustrial Revolution: Is Nigeria Ready? by Larryhoover(op): 5:53pm On Jul 29, 2017
Recently, I have been overwhelmed with a lot of questions and seems not to have found answers to them. I would like to throw it to the elites to help me do justice to these questions and probably help push to the proper hands....
But first, read this....
In recent times a lot of research and development programs have been ongoing around the world with the likelihood of going green in terms of energy generation. Few days ago parliament in the United Kingdom voted to ban fossil fuel vehicles and trucks in the year 2040 and embrace electric automobile in quest for an enabling environment with regards to climate change. Tesla industries have embarked on a full scale manufacturing of PV solar roofs for energy into homes which is projected to be all over the world within three (3) to five (5) years. Wind farms and Hydro power generation and a lot of renewable energy researches evolving. As a matter of fact, Saudi Arabia, the country with the largest oil reserves in the world have started to diversify their economy from oil to other sectors in order not to be caught unaware. From 2006 through 2016, Global Market Capitalization has shifted from oil industry to IT with five (5) global IT firms being among the top six global industries with the highest market capitalization. Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon (an IT firm) was recently announced by Forbes to be the new richest man on the planet Earth followed by the renowned Bill Gate of Microsoft.
With the above analysis, it is crystal clear that we are close to the end of oil era, a new approach has to be established in economic generation, growth, sustainability and development which most countries have started.
My questions are;
What is the plan of the leaders of my dear country Nigeria (if secession doesn’t occur) in this regard aside the power tussle for the forthcoming election?
Do the leaders realize it's not going to be business as usual if oil is globally not attractive? The motive of getting elected and launder money won’t be possible as there won’t be enough buyers for our crude oil. We only clamored during the recent recession while oil was still being sold at an average of $50 per barrel, what would we do when we probably have no interested buyer across the globe?
What is the plan in creating enabling environment for firms and investors interested in investing in the leading Global Market Capitalization sector (IT)? At least policy creation with full implementation?
We all agree we are consumer goods Country through importation with little or no plan for local production, thanks to the dollar we realize from crude oil used for foreign exchange. If oil isn’t selling any longer, are the leaders going to allow the citizen to starve to death?
Finally, should we just close our eyes and assume nothing is happening when we have a lot of issues lingering?
In conclusion, I know it’s going to be a tough decision but seeing and projecting the future must start now, if truly we hope to be great again. We have brains and man power but lack willingness and government support to achieve this feat. We need people with foresight to be in the helms of affairs, philanthropists and diplomats to help channel resources aright and make us the real Giant of Africa. Like JFK said, “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”.

The prospect for the future must start now.

God Bless Nigeria!!!

My work demand is not that challenging but where i stay to my place of work is far, so meeting up with taraweeh is always a challenge but what i device is that i ensure i wake up early to perform tahajjud and read 10 pages of the Qur'an during my prayer on mondays to thursdays, surah Al-kahf on fridays, and on saturdays and sundays, 10 pages during tahajjud and additional 80 pages (40 pages each day) to cover up and so i will be reading about 150 pages every week....

I hope with this i should be able to complete the Qur'an.

May Allah AWJ make it easy for us and grant us the reward of this Holy month (Aameen)
