Indeed, politics is local. Winning election is different from speaking English. |
Honestly, I think this IMF should be deprecated as they are always harbinger of bad news. Oftentimes I see this their projections as mind games like fundamentals analysis to cause panic across the world to enrich some powerful countries and force the less advantaged into loans so that they can always be at their mercy. I am not sure I have seen IMF said a year would be good for any underdeveloped or developing country. This is sickening and I think rather than sending panic across the world, why can’t they help the struggling nations on how to navigate the economy. Instead, they would always dangle loan at you so that you can be continuously indebted to them and they can now determine how your economy performs. |
garfield1:I hear you but please, exclude the elites that you engage in Lagos because the truth is that most might not be in the country on the day of election. But if I may ask you to engage real voters e.g in Alimosho of Lagos, Ibadan SW of Oyo, Sagamu of Ogun, Oshogbo LG and others, you would understand where their fidelity stands. That is why they are saying politics is local and very dirty at the local level. And saying all Igbos are supporting Obi, I beg to differ, aside the Igbo youths and some lightweight Igbo politicians, I am not sure I have seen any heavyweight Igbo politician canvassing for Obi. And don’t forget political structure is the channel towards election success. |
It is obvious some people don't understand politics of the Southwest. The westerners are more inclined to the north due to the comprehension of politics in the North, the reason Tinubu has been craving for Northerners support. Asking if Tinubu would get 70% is a joke because most elections in south west are won in the Key Local governments and if you can name any local government in the south west without Tinubu support, then you might say Tinubu would loose the LG. Only Lagos would give Peter Obi some votes, every other states are locked down for Tinubu, the reason the campaign in SW hasn't been aggressive as compared to the north. Try and study election results in the past to know the trend. And with the division of Atiku, Kwankwaso, Obi and Wike and G5 playing Aces, I am even tempted to say he would get close to 80% of southwest votes. |
Even though I don't like Keyamo and detest how APC have managed the affairs of the country, however he mentioned some salient points that the former Economic Minister under PDP, NOI and 2 CBN governors confirmed Nigeria was headed for recession prior to the administration of Buhari. But, a Buhari Administration rather made it worse due to policies that favoured the powerful minorities while the country is being milked dry. Politicians would remain politicians, no one is contesting for the good of anybody but their self interest. So, fellow Nigerians when you are supporting any candidate, "use your sense before they use you" Buhari contested 4 times after serving as a military Head of states and came back 30 years after to rule as a civilian president for a 2 term regime. Was that ambition to serve or to fulfill interest? Atiku has been jumping from one party to another since 1992 all in the name of wanting to rule as president, if i may ask, must Atiku become president before making an impact to his country? I guess not but all is about interest. Tinubu has been in the corridor of power for over 20years. He claimed to have built Lagos which can be debated but he did contributed his part to be fair to him. However, at 70 years as he claimed and wanting to contest for president and you think it is for the masses? Lol. He could have rallied support for an Osinbajo, if he actually wanted to serve rather than fulfilling interest but I understand that in politics being an orator and a fantastic presidential candidate is different from winning an election. RMK, a two term governor of Kano coming to contest under a party he pioneered (NNPP) having noticed the body language to loose election in PDP primaries and you think he is interested in serving? And finally Peter Obi, the purported Messiah. Sometimes I ask people if we haven't learnt any lesson from 2015 election. The same emotions were attached to Buhari candidature in 2015, using old statistics of how the dollar was exchanging for naira at 84Kobo and we fell for it. Well in Yoruba, they say "Ina èsisi ki joni leemeji" meaning, "a mistaken fire doesn't burn one twice". Well the truth is that the fire won't burn one twice only when you apply wisdom. Though, Peter Obi's utterances might sound like one who is ready to serve but I think there is a clear question people are missing due to emotions that is driving the support. Peter Obi is an "I" person and not a "we" and in politics you need a good team so that you can lay a foundation that can be continued with as governance is a continuum. Also, his team sees LP as a source of quick cash rather than winning an election, imaging appointing a DG with questionable character. Judging from his performance in Anambra, record says he kept money and executed substandard infrastructures and he did this for the masses? And finally, before APC could unseat an incumbent president in 2015, there was a joint effort of political helmsmen across the country with collaborative structure and impact and at that PDP lost with about 3million votes to APC. In 2019, despite PDP having an Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Wike and G5, Buhari won with over 3 million votes. Regardless of the hatred towards Tinubu, I don't think there is any politician that wields the power he has in Nigeria, not even Buhari whose cousin lost primary elections during the last primary election. Hence, with the current structure of Peter Obi and knowing fully well the power of numbers in Nigeria politics and influence of the Northerners in result, how is he going to win against a Tinubu who has the Northerner backing? As the election draws closer, please "use your sense before they use you" Ire OOO (Peace) |
Please, your headline is misleading, this is Ronaldo Delimma and not Cristiano |
History is very important to our collective growth and development as a nation. We need to understand our past to plan for our future. |
Don't press phone anyhow in Lagos traffic to avoid being a target most especially at night. |
With the recent trend, I am even tempted to say Tinubu might find winning the Presidential Election easier than the primaries. Though, I am not certain of what he can do yet due to the antecedents of the current APC administration but his understanding of political games is top-notch and I feel he understands the 48 laws of power extensively. |
A master piece in making. Hopefully this redefines the Lagos transport system. |
Atiku's ambition may have come to an end sooner than later. It is common sense, politics is a game of numbers and even if you don't like a certain individual, you still need to reach a compromise to win elections. Being egoistic at this point is doing more harm than good. Wike is playing a big spoiler game and you are falling for his tricks. |
Obviously, Tinubu is winning this APC primary election. Even though I am not certain he can withstand the pressure of governance and deliver should he be president due to his age but I think he understands the politics of Nigeria than any of the other aspirants. |

Sergio104:I don't think so... Read the end of the third paragraph, he said "...if the route differs" The most probable thing is that he is defecting to another party to seek his ambition. |
The fundamental issue in the North is the wide gap between the elites, religious leader and the poor. They need to do more and learn how to be tolerant. It is sad that they don't even have the basic knowledge of Islam and they claimed to have killed for the Prophet of Islam who propagated the religion. The North need drastic reorientation. |

Som497:This comment of yours shows how low life you are. I am sure if you take your life serious as you took Ronaldo's, you ll be far better in life than where you are now. You insulted me the other day and out of courtesy, I felt I should use a constructive argument to make you see beyond your cray fish brain but instead of you to learn you came back as a toothless dog that you are dishing out insult over Ronaldo that doesn't even know your wretched life. Bro, direct this energy into self development and you may also be a world star and stop being a numbskull. #Idiot |

Honestly, I really feel for Kogi people. Yahaya Bello is a simple example of wrong choice. Leadership isn't about saying people are asking you to run for office, it is about you being certain that you have the requisite expertise to excel, willing and open to learn. These are lacking in him and his antecedents speaks a lot about him. Even though EFCC shouldn't be fully trusted but I think there is no smoke without fire. Instead of asking EFCC to retract statement, ask your bank to go public with the bank statement to vindicate yourself and clear the air and demand for an apology thereafter. |
Som497:Don't let your love for Ronaldo becloud your cognitive reasoning. I am not hating on Ronaldo bro and he is one of the finest athlete that I admire. But look deeply and ask yourself, what is the difference between the current ManU squad and the previous one before Ronaldo. Even Gary Neville gave the example of how his presence has disrupted the squad as he always want to be fielded but he doesn't backtrack to support the defence, causing more pressure on the team when they are under attack. Don't just be a sentimental Ronaldo fan, go and check his heat maps since he joined ManU and try and think deeply before hitting keyboard to attack people because they have difference of opinion. Peace! |
unbitchable:This is just the hard truth. Man U was better than this before Ronaldo returned. |
