Here is the result from the resistivity profile on the dumpsite.
The leacheates is expected to b conductive. Considering the color scale, we can noticed a flow downward

The highly resistive body at the middle is suspected to be a stable earth material controlling the flow of the leacheate.
For the control profile, we got this...
The resistivity values here are higher compared to the dumpsite. It means here is somehow free from leacheates. But low resistivity values was seen in the iterated image. This was done about 30m from the dumpsite

@Poster, I notice you are located in Ibadan. May I ask if your services can be offered outside of your location (/Ajah / Lagos) for instance. Or perhaps considering the swampy nature of Ajah such processing is not required?
Good evening. Thank you for contacting us. We work outside our office base, We have worked in vast number of states/towns across the nation, Lagos state not excluded. We would be glad to come in to look into the issue (Ajah), kindly get to me privately then we can pick it up from there.

Considering the swampy nature in Ajah as you mentioned, we may not be able to make much comments or discussions based on various factors such as peculiarities per site - each site or location tends to have their own peculiarities, you know nature Will not give us uniform situations in all places. This alone is enough to call for further studies.

Another vital factor is the land's purpose of use - what will the site be used for? Residential?, mighty structures? Recreation?... These are just few out of the many things that would be considered before and when venturing into further studies. We can get to discuss outside this forum maybe on WhatsApp.

Thanks.

Science/TechnologyRe: Journey To The Core: How Far Down Is The Center Of The Earth? by Larwin(m): 3:16pm On Sep 18, 2016
Explorers:
Like while drilling, they are making way for the molten magma to the surface?
You know all ds magma are confined deep down with great pressure, so drilling opens up cracks in the Subsurface giving the magma opportunity to rise up.

You would have heard of earthquake or land tremors in places like saki, Kaduna, bayelsa.... If drilling is not controlled, Nigeria should be expecting real earthquake anytime soon.
Science/TechnologyRe: Journey To The Core: How Far Down Is The Center Of The Earth? by Larwin(m): 3:10pm On Sep 18, 2016
Well I think the assumption that there is gold at the Centre of the Earth is wrong. It's only composed of elements containing iron, nickel, Sulphur and the temperature is red hot that one can't imagine.

CultureThe Real Fact About The Occurrence Of Earthquake In Nigeria by Larwin(op): 2:43pm On Sep 17, 2016
News carried that an earth tremor occurred in Kaduna, making inhabitants of the area panic. These occurrence was also felt in Shaki, Ibadan and some other parts of the Basement Complex (Areas with Igneous and Metamorphic rocks) of Nigeria.

Most Nigeria Geologists believe that the country is on a stable zone. However, recent studies have shown that Nigeria is located between a stable craton at its west, the Cameroon volcanics to its East, the Atlantic Ocean to the South and the Younger Granites to the North in Niger (although we have some of its portion around the Jos-Plateau, down to Birin-Kudu in Jigawa state).
Out of all the West African state only Ghana rest comfortably on a Craton (stable part of crust) called the West Africa craton. Nigeria is located to its Eastern part.

It is believed that the pan-African orogeny is the last orogenic process that affected the whole landmass of Africa. Just some days ago, earthquake was also recorded in Tanzania. This means that Africa may not be stable after all.

I put forward the following hypothesis to counter the proposition that Nigeria is stable:

1. The Benue Trough is known to have be formed during the Santonian. It is the third arm of the a rift system, although it is a failed one unlike the one around Egypt. This Olade termed the Aulacogen. If not for its failure during the separation of South America from Africa and the opening of the Atlantic ocean, Africa would have been divided into several minor plates. Therefore, a reactivation of the Benue Trough might cause several earthquakes. A recent study I carried out showed that the some schist areas of Nigeria (where Kaduna is located) is highly jointed (for example the Owo schist area) and that many of the joints are reacivated (Manuscript submitted for publication). This shows that there is a possibility of reactivation through tectonism.

2. The reactivation of the Cameroun volcanoes is potent threat to our country. If the volcanoes are reactivated, its impact will be felt in Nigeria. These earthquake might be a possible signal to the rejuvenation of these volcanoes. Volcanologists should set out to study them.

3. The Mid Oceanic Ridge (MOR) in the Atlantic Ocean should continually be studied. It might give us a clue to what is happening.

4. Incessant drilling of boreholes for water penerating these fault and fracture zones can cause their reactivation. Government and policy makers should endeavour to enact a law that will stop incessant borehole drilling. However, before this can be done, efficient public water must be put in place such that every house is connected to a main source of water supply.

Here is the basemap used to effectively map the leacheates. It was suh a long spread.
You can see where the well inventories were taken, the vlf profiles.

We only had two resistivity profile line, one on the dumpsite and the other at a distance from the dumpsite as control (not shown on the map)

I will show you the results shortly.

Yea, to effectively map the extent the contaminants has moved in the Subsurface, different methods were used.
1) Geophysical method using Resistivity imaging and Very low frequency electromagnetic method

2) Hydrophysical analysis was done too on water samples from well, borehole and surface water close and far from the dumpsite.
