Hello house, thumbs up for the tremendous work being done here on daily basis by the gurus. Please I wish to know if it’s possible for a US university to send an applicant’s transcript or certificate to WES for evaluation? Thanks in anticipation.
a US university transcript doesn't require Wes evaluation.

If you mean that a university should forward your Nigerian transcript to another school, then it's not possible for two reasons.

1. Your school of origination is the one to send your transcript to Wes, because Wes will still contact /reply your school for second verification.

2. Any documents sent to 99.99% of USA universities becomes their property and can't be transferred.

Thanks, I have mailed the program adviser but he didnt respond.
Recharge your phone, subscribe to international call package and call the director within 2pm Nigerian time to 10pm Nigerian time, you can also call the graduate studies unit as well.

If funding Is your major priority, you can check on other schools as well.

Thanks, hopefully I would get some funding as well.
hey, the best way to find out if they offer funding or not is to mail the coordinator of the program you are applying to and enquire from them. they are the one in best position to tell you the truth, you might not get answers here on nairaland.

when i was applying to alcorn for mba, i couldn't see any funding information on their website and i had to inquire from the director of MBA and he made it clear that their is no G.A at the school of business,, i had to checkout another school. mail the coordinator of your program and ask questions. otherwise, you may be waiting in vain

Hello all,

Well done on the thread. You've been really helpful.

Please, I need advice and help on one or two things.

First, I graduated from a Nigerian University last year with a CGPa of 2.6 (BSc Mathematics, Second class lower). I Wasn't really serious due to the fact that I wasnt really passionate about the course cuz I was admitted for a course I didn't apply for and also, I was hustling while studying then since I pay my bills and fees all alone.

Now, I want to study in the USA but I'm thinking of going into another field, thus putting in for undergraduate studies, which means I'll write SAT and use my olevel result which isn't too good, got 2.55/4.00 or so when I converted it to the US system using the WES conversion. If I apply for undergraduates, should I mention that I have a degree already or I shouldn't ? Hope it's not gonna have any effect? Please explain. Also can I get funding? Full or partial? With the Stated

On the other hand, should I just use my degree to secure a MSC admission.? How possible and likely is it for me to get funding with my BSC result, after writing GRE.? My BSC is about 2.7/4 when I converted to the US format though not very sure I got it right.

Note::: I have interest and passion in Computer, IT, telecoms etc related courses which my BSC mathematics can still work with if I decide to go for masters, while I'll be looking into Nursing, Biochem, Lab related courses if I'm going for another undergraduate.

Please Advice accordingly. Thanks a lot to you all.
first, If your WES evaluated transcript falls on 2.50+/4.0, you are good to go in some safe schools whose minimum CGPA requirement is 2.5/4.0

with a good GRE score of 300+ and a good statement of purpose and a solid reference, you can get some funding as well.

your primary job now is to hit google and search.

"top schools in USA with minimum CGPA of 2.5 for grad school"
" top schools in USA offering (my course)"
" top schools in USA offering grants / assistance-ship for ( my profile)"

you will surely get many schools.
next step is to start sending mails to the coordinator of the programs, tell them your profile and ask if you are fit for application/ admission so as to save yourself from wasting application fees and GRE/WES report fees.

also, check out the schools ranking on
https://www.collegeconsensus.com and usnews.com to filter your choices.

for scholarship and grants, you can check out external body like fastweb

i got a $2k essay scholarship last year from them but end up not using it as i had issues with my transcript.

do more researches, work hard

WES had received my documents from my school and they sent me a message that they have sent a message to my school to confirm they sent the documents, my school said they haven't seen any message for over a month o, the staff at the registra's office said it may be a wrong email address and sent me another one... Is it right I send that address to wes? If not, what can I do
P. S.. My Alma mata is Adekunle ajasin university.
Adekunle Ajasin and their wahala. We both showed each other pepper last year over transcript until I file them to court.

I think you should go to exams and record. Tell them you are expecting a mail from WES as regards verification of your transcript, they should be able to provide information / support

although i dont know your CGPA and your profile but here are my observations.
1. the overall ranking of that school is so low. 27/100. also, it isn't ranked among top schools and also, the business program isnt ranked as well. i will suggest you shoot for a school with minimum average of 40% and a ranked business program.

2. Also at the bold part, work on that part and attach the response to your concentration and its importance to your career

ME: Thank you… I took my time to arrange my documents before him and I said have a great day…
VO: And you too….
Olufemiopa:
I can't remember vividly the two b1/b2 denials transcripts but, I would try:

First B1 transcript

VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning
VO: What are you going to do in the US?
ME: I was invited to attend a friend's birthday party

VO: How many children do you have?
ME: 3
VO: Sorry.......

Second B1/B2 transcript

This time, I stated that I was going to sponsor my trip

VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning
VO: Where are you going to do in the US?
ME: I am going on vacation in Chicago
VO: How long would you stay?
ME: 2 weeks
VO: Where would you stay in the US?
ME: I would stay in an hotel, I have my hotel reservation
VO: What are you doing?
ME: I am into supply of petroleum products
VO: Do you have a gas station or truck?
ME: No

VO: Are you married?
ME: Yes
VO: How many children to you have?
ME: 3
VO: Sorry, you aren't qualify for the visa this time...

I await your further advice
at the bolded, i can see too many inconsistency.

at first, a friend was sponsoring you, then in the next stage, you were sponsoring yourself.

also, at first, you hire trucks and you don't own a filling station.
then next, you own a filling station and trucks.

i think the VO checked your previous records when asking all those bold questions.

also, your response where i bolded was also short and none convincing

my thought though. i might be wrong

wahala waa oooo

no mind my question

what about political science education, what options will you suggest

thanks
if i am right, political science has not been made a subject yet in nigerian primary and secondary curriculum. so i am certain there is no way you will convince the VO of returning to nigeria to pick up a teaching job.

if i am right, i think Political science has a major (in science). this one is still better as you can convice the VO of returning to nigeria to pick up a lecturing job or resuming a job at the local government or state government level where you can work as a political analyst, PA to politicians, State secretary, or government appointees.

if your plan is to stay back in the USA, i am not sure thee is political science job field in elementary or high schools in USA. i may be wrong thou.

lastly, fields like these harldy get funding and assistance-ship . so you should ask yourself (why do i want to spend average of $50,000 "18million naira" ( 2 years expenses) on political science?.

if you can afford the expenses, why not?, you can give it a try.

another best option is to consider MBA, as any undergraduate degree can pursue

Nellahen:
Please can anyone give me information about studying education/teaching maters. I have carried out my own research but i would like to hear from someone personal experience thank you
before you pick an education / teaching course. take note of the following:

1. most education Masters don't come with funding except some science educations like maths, chemistry and biology. and to get the funding, you need to have a super great profile.

2. most education programs not targeted towards lecturing, leadership or management won't sound convincing to VO especially Masters . like why will you want to spend millions of naira to study education and return back to Nigeria to compete with mushroom primary and secondary school applicants?

3. most education programs don't come with Assistance-ship.

4. Almost all education Masters can be completed online. 98% of schools that offer Masters in education have online options, except for education in sciences that requires research and practical.

5. if your plan is to stay back in USA after your program, you can't do any elementary or high school teaching job without obtaining a teaching license in USA, and to obtain the license, you have to go for "licensure" program which most schools won't allow international applicants to partake in.

my advice. if you have Bsc(ed) in science education, you may consider going for Masters in science major. for example, chemistry education Bsc has advantage of either going for Msc in chemistry or Msc(ed) / Med in chemistry education. Msc in chemistry is STEM while the later is not. with this, you will have a wider option of shooting your shots to apply for jobs in science field with your MSc or jobs in Education field with your Msc + Bsc. and the truth is that, you can always enroll for a one year licensure program in the USA with your education Bsc.

same as accounting education, finance education, economics education and other top education Bsc, i will advice you shot for the Majors as Msc instead of the Educations.

if your Bsc(Ed) is none sciences like religious education, history education, yoruba education, adult education, and other "non-sellable" educations, i will advice you shot for masters in Educational leadership, Educational management, Curriculum etc as these have more prospects than Msc adult education and msc religious education.

like i said. 98% of schools in USA offer education program 100% online. if you want to minimize cost and risk, you may consider online programs
