There are no GAs at the school of business natchez campus where i applied to, only fellowship awards and housing waiver are available. i don't about other faculties.

The following school has a minimum cgpa requirement of 2.5 /4.0 for regular admission.

Minot state University,
University of Central Missouri,
Alcorn state University,
Central state University Ohio.

You can use Google to research more schools.

Ranking isn't always important when it comes to US schools, reputation and alumni does carry a lot of weight. Plenty of famous black alumni passed through Morehouse... that trumps its 42% "ranking" any day.

We should be able to pass reasoned and practical comments, devoid of the empty rhetoric that is oft found here.

you are right and it's a good thing to check some other parameters aside ranking. plus, it's also cool that the bold is coming from a high school ranking activist.

he is very good, i must be honest. he is primarily the person who motivated me personally to take GRE and ace it to get funding when i posted here last year about my intention of going to US for masters.

but i won't just overlook the fact that he get irritated when people don't apply to Harvard or duke. we all just have to accept the fact that not everyone will be opportune to graduate with good grades and hence, we shouldn't be irritated when people who didn't have the opportunity to get good grades decide to give life a second chance.

My line manager was a 3rd class graduate from Unilag before proceeding to obtain MBA in the US, i can tell you that many first class graduate can't stand where he delivers. he has been one of the most productive managers in my work place that we all look up to as a mentor and role model. he keeps telling us several times that you are not a failure because people label you as one, you are a failure because you accept their label and see yourself as one.

once again, everyone deserves a second chance, a chance to give life another shot and gain what they missed in the first attempt.

because you were able to get a great cgpa to apply to teir 1 school, does that make people who got lower grade due to circumstances less important?.

oga Ade, their is a reason why the term "individual difference" exist in the English world. so many people who deserved a first class from Nigerian universities ended up with 2.1 and 2.2 due to several situations like bad lecturers, poor academic structures, family problems and the likes. but if you ask me, they also deserve a life, they deserve a second chance and hence, they have the right to apply to lower tiers school since their profile cannot get them to a high ranked school.

i have been on this thread since 2015 and i have counted up to 10 people you pronounced to that "they wont get visa" and guess what, they all came back here to share approval testimonies.


on this same thread, i have seen someone who finished from ball state university, a school that ranked 33% overall and 99 in top public school sharing testimony of getting H1b sponsor.

on this same thread, i have seen someone who applied to central state university in ohio with a cgpa of 2.7 getting scholarships.


oga Tforest, Everyone didn't have the opportunity of getting CGPA 0f 3.0 and above and hence, not everyone will have the chance of applying to a top school.

Also, i see most transcript here to have sponsors. in my own case, my savings and mutual fund investment covers my expenses for the first year($25k plus) and i have statement of account with genuine source to proof it. my I-20 also reflects personal funds. Hope i am good to go?

I am asking this question because i am currently in a Dilemma .

I have this girl called M.

M lives down the street in the Estate where i stay. The first time i met her was at the supermarket , we met again along the street weeks later and we became friends. one thing led to another, the friendship metamorphosed into feelings from each other and it got to the extent that we were so fond of each other and we do exchange visitations. i took the bold step and asked her out. she told me she liked me but wont be able to date me because she has a serious relationship which she wasn't ready to break with the guy.

i couldn't afford to step down as well and i begged her to give me a chance in her heart and with time, i will be able to prove myself to her that i am more worthy of being the man in her life. she accepted but she gave me a condition that i won't be able to reach her whenever her guy is around or whenever she is with her guy. i thought it was a small deal and i accepted. The relationship was smooth at the first 3 months as we had time to spend with each other.

Recently, Her guy got a job transfer to Lagos from Ibadan and it now happened that the three of us are now in lagos. nowadays, the guy is always around almost every weekend, most times, she also go to the guy's house to spend few days as well which she always informed me.


i am finding it hard to cope again, the thought of them having sex alone burdens my heart not to talk of the inability to call or reach her when she is with her guy.

i have tried several means to break the bond between them, i have made her known i wasn't ready to share but each time i do all these, her response is always like " i cant just break up with him without any offence. he has tried alot for me and i cant just leave him except i find fault in him which i am yet to find. and i told you point blank from the start that i have a relationship with him".


she loves me which i know, i also love her. but i am tired of been a shareholder,

i want to be the main guy.

it has really affected me psychologically that i am no longer productive in the office like i used to be.


i am 29 with a good job and planning to settle down soon with her.

School do charge 28,000 to send. It depends on your school.

Though my school paid all the fee and I didn't pay a KOBO, cause I was trying to Sue the school for damages

i think for the first time, i will have to agree that this country is a shit-hole. Nigerian universities are so annoying and can frustrate the living hell out of you. most times , i wonder why students are getting first class like biscuit in USA and UK, but in Nigeria, its a matter of war.

my story.......
after four years of hard labour and stress in a Nigerian university, my transcript was 2.88/5.0 ( second class lower who managed to escape a third class) see first picture.

now, my WES evaluated transcript was released today after several months of battling with my school to send my transcript. my evaluation on WES came out to be
2.93/4.0 (see picture B)


can you imagine, its even greater than the miserable grade my Nigerian undergraduate program gave me,

i was not expecting up to 2.5 /4.0 and my hope has been tied on conditional admission in a tier 4 USA school before now.
but now, i am just wowed and amazed, now i can flex and checkout on good schools.



my advice to everyone on Average CGPA of 2.5/5.0 (second class lower) from a Nigerian university, don't loose hope, research for schools who required WES evaluation, don't hesitate to sacrifice the WES evaluation fee, i just believed there is hope for you.


now , let me take time to research Good schools.....
