FlyoruB: See these foolish people masturbating all over this thread? This is why the SE will never develop, because it lacks the environment and character to attract the the best to move over there to contribute to it's development. Isn't it ironic that the purported buyer of the property in question would rather buy it in Lagos rather than build one in his native Anambra? The reason is simple.
The Tinubu who initiated the eko Atlantic project, as a typical forward thinking Yoruba man, originally positioned it to be an investors haven that will continually attract capital from anywhere, irrespective of race, color or creed.
That's the difference between Yorubas and igbos, and why even the best and most successful igbos (as well as other Nigerians and foreigners) will continue to troop to our land with their capital coz they know their money is not only safe there, but also coz they know it is the only part of Nigeria where their investments have real value and will continue to appreciate.
Igbos are not the only non-natives investing their capital in Yorubaland. Dangote is building his refinery there. The French owners of Lafarge are there. Even American multinationals are not left out. Some of the wealthiest Nigerians of Yoruba extraction also have stakes.
Igbos should receive sense and stop this foolishness of celebrating their kin acquiring a property in Lagos, and rather focus on how they can reposition their region to replicate the Lagos/SW environment, that way other Nigerians and foreigners (including the elusive deep pocket igbos who refuse to invest their money in the region) can also feel welcome to contribute to the region's development.
You people abusing NwaAmaikpe truly need some sober reflection, rather than celebrating a private individual's investment in property in Lagos. Chimo! See finishing! |

igbodefender: Igbos are great investors. South Africa has Shoprite, Igbos have Alaba International Market. South Africa has DSTV, Igbos have Nollywood. Yet, in Nollywood the highest grossing movies that have raked in the biggest amount of money at the box office, were made by non-Igbos. Please research the history of the Nigerian film industry very well, before making unfounded claims. Definition of which films are considered Nollywood has always been a subject of debate. Alex Eyengho defined Nollywood as "the totality of activities taking place in the Nigerian film industry, be it in English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Itsekiri, Edo, Efik, Ijaw, Urhobo or any other of the over 300 Nigerian languages". He further stated that "the historical trajectory of Nollywood started since the pre and post independent Nigeria, with the theatrical (stage) and cinematic (celluloid) efforts of the likes of Chief Hubert Ogunde, Chief Amata, Baba Sala, Ade Love, Eddie Ugboma and a few others". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nollywood |

Do we really need all these for a mere state governorship election? This is unacceptable!
It's election and not war! How can casualties be avoided when special antirobbery squad are mobilised for elections?
Igbos online have started reacting and airing their fears. See photos and comments Na IPOB cause am. If they hadn't threatened voters with death, those policemen would not have been posted to Anambra to fortify security in the state. |

Like I said, you lack respect for your own father, that is why you can make mockery of fatherhood. It is obvious that you were badly trained from birth, by those who were entrusted to do so. That was why you developed such psychological problems, that made it easy for you to lash out at others, in hate and anger using such uncouth language. Ndo. Lagos is Dubai in the making Oh, why do you want to spoil our fun here? We are watching them shouting in excitement that their son bought a tower in EKO Atlantic. And we are pitying them.
