Jossy4luv1:
The Premier University Undergraduate students have just been ordered to leave the hostels and go to their houses. The Vice Chancellor said this on the University Radio (Diamond FM 101.1fm ) few minutes ago.
This came as a result of protests by the students ravaging the school recently as a result of some issues like ban on using hot plates in all hostels in the institution.
The Vice Chancellor said the students are to resume back July 17, 2017
Who are those clueless students that decided to go on rampage because of a ban on hot plates? huh They deserve to be flogged and rusticated! angry Other people hold protests to address more serious issues, and these ones are demonstrating against a ban on hot plates. Dem swear for una??! shocked Cooking gas don finish for town? Abi, dem no dey sell kerosene stove for market again??

I would like to first of all thank Grace Mugabe for being a catalyst in the final destruction of a redundant political party. Secondly, I commend the brave men who put their foot down and decided that other things are more important than watching a couple try to play 'king and queen' at the expense of disadvantaged citizens. You can ban as much as you like, but it will not stop the agitation for Biafra nor dampen our spirit. The Biafran movement is not just a struggle for the igbos, but a struggle for liberation from oppression, tyranny, nepotism, fanaticism and backwardness. Come to Northern Nigeria and see for yourself the deteriorating state of affairs, come to Kano state and see police officers without formal education. I wish to continue lamenting on the injustice the igbos face in the north, but most of you here are brain dead so I won't waste my time. So bro go ahead n ban me if you want to, but my spirit and love for everything Biafra you cannot ban.
Must you stay in the North? If you don't like it there, why not move back to the SE? You think the day your Biafra is declared, your region would automatically become heaven on earth? huh

Well then shouldn't you disavow using the white mans computers and internet? You keep harping on blackness while continuing to enjoy the fruits of the white man's labor and wit. The Asians simply took what the white man did and improved on it or even built their own versions... the attitude of poo pooing others in the name of "black man know yourself" has led us exactly where? The same Fela you revere ended up dying like a common street dog of complications of HIV... if he were alive today, he'd be solely dependent on antiretrovirals made by the white man... while he'd be busy at his shrine making zero contributions to mankind.

The power is meant to be with the people and not with the vice. The vice orchestrated everything, that means the coup was a selfish one. If the millions of people in Zimbabwe cannot vote out a nonworking president, then its their problem. It might look good in the eyes of many but evil people know how to manipulate good intentions for their own gain.

The military can advise the legislature to impeach him or they monitor the next election to see him out of office. Military actions in Africa need to be frowned at and democratic processes need to be promoted.

Chiwenga must be hang!
Chiwenga must hang? For what? shocked For going against a myopic man who has perpetuated himself in power, impoverished his people and made it almost impossible to hold free and fair elections, because of his manipulative ways and utter disregard for the people's wishes? huh

Abeg, very few individuals would listen to this your sermon if you preach it in Harare, or anywhere in Zim. Mugabe has so messed up the system, that the people cannot express their wishes through the ballot box. He took that power away from the people. Now, that a different option is being given to them, you think they would turn it down? Abeg, come down to the real world. undecided Wake up and smell the coffee.

ma'am no matter how bad a democratic setting is, no military man should go there and remove him from power. If you can't vote him out, keep crying in your room. The military are not angels. in fact most of them are illiterates and just know how to shoot bullets.
And when the sit tight leader always manipulates the electoral process to declare himself the winner, and hounds the opposition into exile or oblivion, what is the next step? huh

Leaders like Mugabe need to realise that their actions would invite coups, if they fail to do the right thing. This would send a strong signal to him. If the AU intervenes, it should be to help the Zimbabwean Parliament put in place an interim govt and compel elections to be held in the absence of Mugabe. Once a new govt comes in, then the AU can back down. undecided

Do not be deceived by the cover up story. If you keep up with international politics, you will understand what the concept of "Indirect rule" actually means.

I am not a Mugabe fan and him thinking of handing power to his wife was stupid and unwise. I just want to point out that coup in any African country is like opening a Pandora box and you can't fathom the effect it would have on the sub region.

He has the constitutional mandate to govern his people and we can't allow African go back to the past of killings and coup plotting. African Union shouldn't accept this act same as Nigeria and most African nation never accepted coups that happened in West Africa.
Which constitutional mandate? huh He has manipulated every single electoral process in Zimbabwe since he got into power! shocked The opposition has either been hounded into exile or chased into oblivion. He has been able to do all these, because he felt that no one could challenge him. On top of that his country's political, economic and social issues have gone from bad to worse. If AU supports the incoming govt, it would be recognising the will of the people for change and also be sending a strong signal to those who want to perpetuate themselves in power, that they would no longer have the support of the continental body. undecided

If you are bothered about the legality, then AU can call for fresh elections in Zimbabwe after an interim govt is appointed by their parliament. But Mugabe must not be allowed to return to power. sad

It's a coup, sanctioned by western government (it's obvious from their reporting) and it shouldn't be recognised in Africa because it would signal double standard and embolden military personnel to start plotting coup.

Mugabe might be different thing to different persons but this action might further lead to the degradation democracy in Africa. I hope AU takes the right stand on thus issue.
Which right stand? huh Mugabe has been there for donkey years, and things have steadily gone from bad to worse. And upon all that, he still wanted to perpetuate himself in power, and die in office. shocked He even tried to make his wife, his successor. He manipulated the political scene so that free and fair elections could not hold, and hounded the opposition out of existence. In fact, I am surprised that he has not been overthrown before now. He should get out of Zimbabwe and never come back. Good riddance to bad rubbish! angry

AU should just turn a blind eye to the coup and recognise the incoming president. It would send a signal to sit-tight presidents, that if they refuse to leave quietly, they would be eased out noisily.

It is not Orjiako that will make it attractive... Fine building is not what investors are after but infrastructure and the policy framework ...If Anambra has an airport , a sea port and other incentive then you can look to her people to do Niger investment than just building industries
It is not only airports that make a place attractive for investment. Airports cannot be sited in every state capital. sad

Enugu already has an airport. IMO and Asaba have domestic airports. What else? huh SE does not have access to the sea, so how can a seaport be built there? The Port-harcourt sea port is functional, so is Onne terminal, which is not so far away from Ala Igbo. Go and build it and he will buy it from you as he did with this one ...You think somebody should just pour billions into a building whee it is not needed ... Yes he should contribute to the development of his state but not in the capacity of wasteful spending or investment... Anambra doesn't need this edifice for now

The corporate group to rent it are not there and back home in my Anambra everybody is a developer so who is going to stay in your own and pay you the king of rent you get in Lagos

Dangote businesses are not in Kano but Lagos and middle belt ...Atiku biggest investment are in the Niger Delta and Orjiako major money spinners aare not in Anambra but Niger delta and Lagos state ... Get real, this is billions of naira not 20 million naira
You are still missing the point. If everyone from your region, diverts their money into buying towers and properties outside Ala Igbo, how will your region develop? huh For every naira invested by your people outside your region, the benefits remain within those places, and do not accrue to your people, neither does it help in developing your region. sad

If you do not make your region attractive enough for investment, so that the Dangotes, Ojiakors and Atikus decide to do business there, who loses eventually? Figure it out. sad

Lagos, Kano and Delta will continue to reap the benefits of their investment, and your people will keep crying about marginalisation, and claiming that Lagos is developed, while your region remains backward. undecided
