This thread has been a massive success; infact FLAWLESS VICTORY!

This is not a 'dick measuring' contest, but whenever the IGBOS try to undermine or intimidate us, we put them in their place (which is way below the Yorubas).

God has made it so...

Shout out to kn23h for creating this thread, God bless you bro smiley

Special mention to Laudate who is not even a core Yoruba but Itshekiri, and Osaze007 who is from Edo, Thanks for your contributions.

God bless the Itshekiri people!

God bless the Edo people!

God bless lovers of Yoruba people, we love you too!

Gratitude!

To my fellow Yorubas; no need to drag with THOSE LOSERS, we have already won!

Just go about your day. There are more lands(feats) to be conquered!

God bless the Yoruba people (Amen)
Appreciate your comments, but I am not even Itsekiri! cool I appreciate the Itsekiri people sha. I come from another minority group, though.

Bia, let me invite you to an indigenous Lagos Trade Fair and you will see that all these things you posted here are just child's play. When the International Trade Fair comes up again this year, please just visit the Lagos State stand and see for yourself.
By the way have you heard of Wemy Industries? No? shocked Ok, they manufacture all the Dr. Brown brand of diapers, feminine products etc., that you see in our local markets. They were the real pioneers in the field of sanitary products before your Anambra entrepreneurs came up. cheesy It is owned by Mr. Ademola Odunaiya and his wife.

Founded with the main objective of manufacturing superior quality hygiene products, Wemy Industries Limited is the foremost indigenous and pioneer manufacturer of baby diaper in Nigeria.

Incorporated as a Private Liability Company on October 25, 1978 under the Companies Decree 1968, Wemy Industries Limited is situated at Alapere-Ketu, Lagos where it owns an ultra-modern manufacturing complex.

Our brands are Dr Browns and Nightingale which comprises Baby care, Feminine care and Adult care. We have grown from a mono product company to a company that manufactures and trades over 15 product lines with coverage in the entire federation of Nigeria. http://wemydrbrowns.com/company-profile/
Jointly founded Wemy Industries with his wife in 1978, Pastor Ademola Odunaiya holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Liverpool University UK, a Fellowship member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. I can't stop laughing! cheesy You are just a clown, honestly! grin Ok, so now it is the type of rice produced in the Southeast that you want to compare? Or why are you showing us pictures of bags of rice? By the way, have you heard of Ofada Rice? It is produced in Ogun State. What about Igbemo rice? It is produced in Ekiti State. I dont want to even mention LAKE Rice which is a joint venture between Lagos and Kebbi States. undecided The state govt is also setting up Imota Rice Processing Mill at Ikorodu, Lagos. It will be one of Nigeria’s largest rice mills, and one of the initiatives of the state towards advancing local production and processing of rice.

Igbemo Rice Processing Company Limited is the first privately-owned rice processing and branding company in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Genesis of greatness lies in pursuit of vision and commitment to hard work and human values. Igbemo Rice Processing Company Limited has moved through monumental stages from its inception, growth and expansion to deliver quality rice.

The company is expanding into newer horizons with a missionary zeal and a dynamic team under the leadership of a strong visionary.

Presently, the company is fostering relationship with both local and foreign companies in the areas of rice farming, improved processing technology and business ties. http://logbaby.com/directory/igbemo-rice-processi_15936.html#.WWgW4pLyvIU
Igbemo Rice, also known as brown rice, is a local, Nigerian unpolished rice which is non-genetically modified. It is the short, robust and brown rice planted in Ekiti State in Nigeria. The delicacy is very popular in the South-west region of Nigeria, but many who eat it, are not aware of the health benefits of igbemo rice. The rice is also good for those aspiring to lose some weight.

1. Igbemo rice has about twice the fiber content of regular white rice. Fiber plays a significant role in our digestion process. Because of this high fibrous content, brown rice is known to be one of the most effective natural colon cleansers which aids weight loss.

2. Igbemo rice lowers the level of LDL cholesterol a.k.a bad cholesterol. Having a high level of bad cholesterol in the body is a primary reason for excess weight because it LDL causes insulin resistance and when this occurs it naturally stimulates the body to store fat. https://www./ad/igbemo-rice-brown-rice-ID15HOOk.html

Is that all? Have you heard of T.T Dalk? It is owned by Temilade Osinfade. wink What about Haus of Hercules (HOH)? No? shocked It is a footwear brand that specializes in simple yet stylish and exquisite handmade shoes. The owner is Christopher Jeje.

T.T DALK is a Nigerian-based fashion brand that is redefining the African footwear industry. It makes simple, trendy and elegant footwear for both men and women that appeal to a wide range of consumer tastes.

Temilade Osinfade is the founder and Creative Director at T.T Dalk. During his days at the university, he would draw out footwear designs on paper for local shoe craftsmen to make for him. His shoes and slippers caught the attention of other students and that’s how the T.T Dalk footwear business was born.

T.T Dalk is revolutionizing the local footwear business in Nigeria and has been featured on several international fashion shows and runways. He primarily sells his shoes on online stores and a few boutique retail outlets in Nigeria’s major cities.

In a recent press interview, he gave the following advice: “… you need to have passion for the business, it takes a lot of consistency and perseverance. Define your brand, and define your target market. You will not find many people who are knowledgeable about the business, so you need to educate yourself and do most of the work at the early stages. You must be very creative, and most especially you need to take risks. Get out of your comfort zone and explore the outside world!”

T.T Dalk is definitely a promising brand to watch in Africa’s fast evolving footwear landscape.
Haus of Hercules (HOH) is another footwear and accessories brand based in Lagos, Nigeria. It specializes in simple yet stylish and exquisite handmade shoes.

The HOH collection includes loafers, oxfords, brogues, toms and moccasins made from luxurious fabrics such as velvet and soft suede and traditional fabrics like denim, tweed and batik-patterned fabrics.

The brain behind Haus of Hercules is Christopher Jeje, a young Nigerian designer and entrepreneur. He started this impressive footwear business in 2010 with just over $30 in startup capital. Since then, HOH has showcased on fashion runways in Lagos, Accra and London. http://www.smallstarter.com/get-inspired/10-top-successful-made-in-africa-footwear-brands-making-africa-proud/

SABMiller was one of the top five global brewing companies,[1][2] and had a range of over 150 beers, including international beers such as Pilsner Urquell, and Miller Genuine Draft, and local ones such as Gambrinus and Castle Milk Stout.[3]

The company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev in October 2016 and sold off its interest in MillerCoors to Molson Coors as required by regulators in the U.S. [4][5] The new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV, is trading on the Brussels Stock Exchange as ABI.BR and as BUD on the New York stock exchange.[6][7][8]

After the merger between Anheuser Busch Inbev and SABMiller, the new Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV company owns over 200 beer brands including Budweiser and Bud Light, Corona, Stella Artois, Beck's, Leffe, Hoegaarden, Skol, Brahma, Antarctica, Quilmes, Victoria, Modelo Especial, Michelob Ultra, Harbin, Sedrin, Klinskoye, Sibirskaya Korona, Chernigivske, Cass and Jupiler. Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV also owns a soft drinks business that has bottling contracts with PepsiCo through its subsidiary, Ambev.[6] In December 2016, Coca Cola Co. bought many of the former SABMiller's Coca Cola operations.[9]

LADOL
Guy, thank you for mentioning LADOL. cool Even though I come from a minority tribe, I must admit that Yoruba entrepreneurs have foresight, vision and clout when it comes to making things happen, within an industry.

Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) is West Africa’s Free Zone and Logistics Hub for Multinational, Industrial and Offshore oil & gas Companies. It is strategically located at the entry-point to Lagos harbour. Now the region’s largest base for rig and vessel repair, LADOL also provides 24/7 operations with a wide range of services and facilities – from cargo handling and inventory management to onsite hotel and recreational facilities. LADOL is a fully integrated, independent and secure base anchored around a 200m quay with a deep, 8.5m draft. The QUAY provides stevedoring and cargo handling with efficient discharge and loading of goods. wink

The BASE provides all logistical services, including warehousing, material handling equipment, fabrication and assembly yards, people management, catering, bunkering of fuel and water, facilities for the supply of bulk materials, a helicopter base, open and closed storage facilities, sewage and waste treatment, potable water and medical services. undecided

LADOL was set up by Ladi Jadesinmi, a Nigerian oil baron who is one of the richest men in Southwest, Nigeria. International Breweries was founded in 1971 by Dr. Lawrence Omole and commenced production in December 1978 with the launch of Trophy lager. We were listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1995.

From humble beginnings, our portfolio has grown and now includes Trophy Lager, Trophy Black, Castle Milk Stout, Castle Lager, Redds, Hero, Grand Malt, Betamalt malt drink and Voltic Water.

Our brewery and corporate headquarters are located at Omi-Asoro, Ilesa in Osun State and with distribution centres in Ibadan, Lagos and Ilorin. http://www.internationalbreweriesplc.com/

Guy, educate yourself, please! Who set up International Breweries Plc? huh It was Dr. Lawrence Omole, an Ilesa man. He sold part of his company to a German firm, and those ones in turn signed an operational agreement with SAB Miller to run the breweries. Omole is still one of the largest individual shareholders in the company, after the Germans. Do you even have any idea how much he was paid in dollars for those shares? shocked

First, I commend the time and effort that you spent drawing up this list. It must have taken you a while to put it together. But while I commend the efforts of the Igbo entrepreneurs you listed here, you should understand that there are also entrepreneurs from other ethnic groups especially the Yoruba, who have also set up similar things in the past, or are currently major players in the same industries, listed here.

For example, PREMIERE BREWERY and EASTERN DISTILLERIES & FOOD INDUSTRIES LTD, which you listed as engaged in the manufacturing & distilling of spirits and wine, is actually in 3rd place behind International Breweries Plc which was founded in 1971 by Dr. Lawrence Omole. It commenced production in December 1978, with the launch of Trophy lager beer. The company was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1995, and its' portfolio has grown to include Trophy Lager, Trophy Black, Castle Milk Stout, Castle Lager, Redds, Hero, Grand Malt, Betamalt malt drink and Voltic Water. wink The brewery and corporate headquarters are located at Omi-Asoro, Ilesa in Osun State. It began production in 1978 with an installed capacity of 200 000 hectolitres per annum, this increased to 500 000 hectolitres/per annum in December 1982. Their distribution centres are in Ibadan, Lagos and Ilorin. undecided

Dr. Omole cashed in his assets when he signed a technical services agreement with Brauhaase International Management GMBH, a subsidiary of Warsteiner Group of Germany, which bought 70% equity of the brewery from him. Today, that same brewery has signed an operational services agreement with SABMiller. Dr. Omole is still the one smiling to the bank with millions of US dollars, in his pocket.

GARBS ORGANISATION LTD and another company OZALLA PLASTICS ENTERPRISES LTD, which you also listed as firms that manufacture & market Plastic Domestic Wares and Containers, are actually learners when compared to Eleganza Group of Companies, the multimillion dollar plastic manufacturing company owned by Chief Razak Akanni Okoya. The Eleganza group of companies today employs over 5,000 people and has multiple manufacturing subsidiaries in several places like Oregun-Ikeja, Isolo, Alaba, and Iganmu; producing items like seats, shoes, jewelries, plastics, coolers, cutlery, ice chests, electric fans, cosmetics, pens, and a lot more. His group also comprises of a multi-million dollar properties investment arm called RAO Property Investment Company, and is generally one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria today. undecided

Now, you also mentioned A.N. EJEAGWU & SONS LTD, as well as TOPAN ADVANCE AGRO PAPER LTD which specialises in Paper Converters/Conversion, Manufacturer of Toilet papers and Plastic bags/waterproof bags. However, they are still playing catch up when it comes to companies like Banrut Rolls Nigeria Limited -Abuja, the second largest manufacturers of Tissue Paper in Nigeria and neighboring countries. It is owned by Prince Samson A. Ataiyero and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Aina Ataiyero. The owner has a Full Technological Certificate in Automobile Engineering (HND) from Kaduna Polytechnic, and BSc Hons in Public Administration from University of Abuja. wink

Hmmn... let me stop here. wink I really do not want to bore anybody with too many details. cool
