PoliticsWhy Is It That Every Topic That Insults Or Berates GEJ & PEJ Hits The Front Page by launique(op): 8:47pm On Jul 16, 2013
I've come to this conclusion based on the volume of anti-jonathan posts that are making it to the frontpage and this has increased in intensity over the past 7 days for reasons I'm yet to fathom. It's either that the mods are sympathetic to the anti-jonathan course or that Nairaland is a political tool that is now being used by the opposition to spread propaganda. Any post that insults PEJ or berates GEJ now makes the front page. If you are in doubt just take a look at the front page and you will see that 90% of the threads from the political section that makes the front page are critical of Jonathan. Please, I demand an explanation. This is supposed to be a fair and balanced forum, but recent happenings have proved otherwise. Is it that Seun or a huge chunk of the mods have a political agenda?

PoliticsRe: Does The 'transformation Agenda' Encompass This? by launique: 3:47pm On Jul 16, 2013
And Mr. OP lest I forget, nobody will listen to you if all you do is to sit in front of your laptop and launch attacks on the government with faceless monikers. We have been doing this since the invention of the internet and up till today it's not working. We need to have a change of strategy. Let Nigerians who are hungry for a change come out and mobilize themselves and pour out into the streets to protest against perceived misrule. And by protest I don't mean hurling stones and bricks on security agencies and vandalizing government property because we all know what that will result to. By protest I mean peaceful civil disobedience like sit-ins in government parastatals and buildings like the national assembly etc, or even peaceful protest marches across the country. This goes to everyone reading this comment right now, not only the OP
PoliticsRe: Does The 'transformation Agenda' Encompass This? by launique: 3:35pm On Jul 16, 2013
Even if Nigerian leaders come out in the media to announce that they have taken pay cuts, they will still find a way to siphon double the amount they were earning previously

donroxy: That dude didnt deserved a Gbam !!!

Nigerian Govt aint ready to engaged Nigerian ahome in governance talkless of Nigerians in diaspora !!!

Do u know how much most Nigerians in Diaspora contribute to our economy ? Do u know how much is being remitted from Nigerians in diaspora daily which contribute highly to our GNP !!!

So, the little Nigerian abroad could do is to also give their voices to the condemnation of nasty government moves and programmes !!!

Revolution won't come so soon in Nigeria simply cuz we have one of the most Ill trained, brutal and cruel Army in the world , and No one wants Biafra treatment, take for instance Fuel Subsidy revolt,Do u know how many that were killed ? SE/SS were motionless despite the fact that they were affected most but No one wants Biafra treatment in his/her region that is why Compromise is easier in Nigeria !!!

My own proffered solution is evolution of new political culture, National Integration and Re-Orientation with Nigeria Army and Sister agencies playing an unbiased role . This will surely take time to achieved and we need the patience else Nation Building after revolution may take forever to achieve !!!
I don't think that the reason why the SE/SS didn't join the fuel subsidy protests was because they were afraid of the "Biafra treatment". Rather it was because these two regions voted massively for the president thus they are ready to stick with him and defend their man.

blackmann: [b]Dude, everyone has his/her opinion about things. I lived in Nigeria for most of my life and have had the privilege to live out of Nigeria too, so I know what I'm talking about.

If you take your time to study the mentality of Nigerians home and abroad as regards to Nigeria, you will know what I mean. Many of them, as you said, left the country because they wanted change. Now that they have achieved that "change", they open their mouths on FaceBook, Twitter, and even here on Nairaland that Nigeria is a failed state, and the only way is for us to split up or cause a revolution to remove the current leaders who are destroying the country.

The angle i'm coming from is how many of these people suggesting such drastic measures can actually sacrifice their comfort in foreign lands to come and lead a "revolution" that will make Nigeria a better place? How many of them can come back and effect the changes they suggest? They will rather run commentaries from behind their computers, saying things that they can't even come out to do.

All we need is unity and a collective will, if we achieve that all other things will fall into place

PoliticsRe: Why Can't Nigerians Be Like The Egyptians And Protest Against Bad Leadership? by launique(op): 8:51pm On Jul 15, 2013
blackmann: Exactly. But that is what 90% of Nigerians are good at doing. And I'm not talking of only home-based Nigerians. those in the Diaspora are even worse. I keep asking people that instead of running commentaries from abroad, why not go back home and make a change? Many Nigerians are just good at making noise. GEJ is this, PEJ is that, Rueben Abati is a bastard, Labaran Maku is GEJ's dog, but tell them to suggest ways and actions to make things better, they will run away.
Gbam!

Amaechi should be probed. The man has a lot of questions to answer from his connection to Jerry Rawlings of Ghana to the over 70 billion naira utopian fraud of a project known as the Port Harcourt Light Rail to this one

IF TRIBAL BIGOTS CANNOT READ IT AT THAT. . .TOO BAD!
I referred to 'literary' has-beens only. . . AS THEY GET SENILE WITH THE AGING PROCESS. . . .and start GOSSIPPING. . .instead of WRITING LITERATURE!

We all know what you wanted to achieve by mentioning Achebe there. You want to start off another Achebe vs Soyinka fiasco, abi?
