So anyone that doesn't have a job should become a criminal, and where in the world is it the responsibility of govt to provide job for anyone? Granted, government has the responsibility to ensure an enabling environment for innovation and businesses to thrive, but it doesn't mean you should sit down and wait for govt to provide job for you.

The Good Thing is that We disgraced and retired PDP! And We will definitely retire this small fry Called Saraki!

The PDP never had to fight over National Assembly positions because they abided by party directives, Bukola Saraki's ambition has birthed this one.
First you call Senate President Saraki "this small fry", and you loudmouthed about retiring him. Both your statements exudes infantile ignorance, but please could you explain how you intend to "retire" Senate President Saraki.

PoliticsRe: APC Senators In Physical Combat Over Sharing Of Principal Offices by LAX89(m): 12:19am On Jun 24, 2015
mohammedabiodun:
ABUJA- CRISIS rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC , over the selection of principal officers for the Senate, Tuesday deepened as the meeting of the caucus members of the party in the upper chamber ended in deadlock.

At the meeting of the Senators to address the problem, some senators engaged in physical combat bringing the meeting to an abrupt end.
According to a source, the parley held behind closed door in Meeting Room 3:01, had about 40 Senators in attendance as Senator Danjuma Goje, Gombe Central, led the group loyal to Senate President Bukola Saraki, while Senator Barnabas Gemade, Benue North East, led the group loyal to Senator Ahmad Lawan.

Declaring open the meeting, Saraki said, “I appeal to you all to let us do those things that will unite us than do those that will divide us. For me, I am ready and desirous, as colleagues to work with all of you in order to provide that focused leadership in the Senate and National Assembly as an institution.
Despite Saraki’s appeal, a source told Vanguard that the position Senators loyal to the Senate President proposed that principal officers must emerge through an electoral process, conducted by Zonal caucuses, which will then present winners to the Senate President by Tuesday, for announcement at the plenary, the next day.

The Unity Forum, a group of Senators loyal to Senator Lawan, however, disagreed, insisting that only names nominated by the APC leadership for the offices must be adhered to.

There was a melodrama when Senator Kabir Marafa, Zamfara Central and Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Ondo Central were involved in fisticuffs over their opposing positions.

Vanguard gathered that Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara) and other Senators intervened, saving the ugly situation from degenerating further

I suggest that they issue every senator, and HOR member, a loaded gun, a sharp dagger and machete and 2 4-pronged koboko. And they should be required to bring them to work everyday, so if they need any of them, it will already be available. This will make them more efficient.
PoliticsRe: 8 Governors Ask Oyegun To Resign - Vanguard by LAX89(m): 11:13pm On Jun 23, 2015
Ogatitus:
ABUJA – Crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC appeared to have now sprawled into a full blown war between the governors elected on the party’s platform and the national chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun with the governors asking him to honorably resign.

The governors who paid a surprised visit to Oyegun at the party’s national secretariat on Tuesday after their meeting with president Mohammadu Buhari were said to have conveyed their demands to the chairman in a closed door meeting they had with him.

The governors who visited Oyegun included Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger) Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abubuakar Badaru (Jigawa).

Highly placed party sources revealed that the governors were not happy with Oyegun’s poor handling of the crisis bedeviling APC on the heels of the recent National Assembly elections that enthroned Senator Bukola Saraki and Rep. Yakubu Dogara as senate president and speaker, House of Representatives respectively.

I feel you, it's always a frustrating experience dealing with them. But if you have an insider there, its easier. Last time I was there, there was a big drama, one guy actually accused them openly of taking bribes. And there were people that came even from Alberta hoping to go back home same day, it was a total mess. But I hear they're getting better now though.

Who are these ignoramus talking about Canada not giving automatic citizenship? It doesn't hurt to ask if you are not sure please.

That was how one almost swore that US does not give automatic citizenship till I had to send him a picture of my son's US passport.

LAX89; why didn't your friend get Naija passoport for her child instead of the travel certificate since you had to go to Ottawa? I understand that is where they have Naija embassy.
Getting a Naija passport for a new-born baby is very tedious and time consuming, it's much easier and faster to just show the embassy the new mummy's Naija passport and they can issue the new baby a TC right away. But if the new mummy and baby are willing to stay back in Canada for a while, I guess they can get one. And yes, Nigerian embassy is in Ottawa.

Hey house,

As regards giving birth in Canada, it is true that any child born on Canadian soil gets automatic citizenship. However, I beg to disagree with Justwise that the child gets automatic health card too. Health card is given only if either parent has one.
Regarding when to 'enter', I know someone that came in less than 3 weeks before she had her baby. I'm not sure of the official date.

Thanks
Every Canadian citizen child born in Canada is entitled to 'Health Card' regardless of if their parent/s has one. Even refugee 'applicants' are entitled to IFH (Interim Federal Health plan).

You still don't get it, and I cant help you any further. You've NO idea what you're talking about, and you seem to lack the capacity to comprehend it. Your sole aim here is not to comprehend facts, but to prove that you're right and I'm wrong, you CANNOT achieve that because you don't have the facts. Remain blessed.

Again, you fail to understand what you read and pasted. Children born to diplomats are treated differently because of their parents being a 'Diplomat' and having 'Diplomatic Immunity'. A diplomat can commit a crime in a host country and not be prosecuted, wherever 'Diplomats' are (their cars, house etc.) are considered an extension of their home country. For this reason, their children born in a host country; Canada, USA, UK etc., are treated as if they were born in the 'Diplomat's (their parent'S) home country, and as such are not automatic citizens of their host country - Canada, USA, UK etc.

It does not matter when they stopped offering automatic citizenship to Children of visitors who were born there. He has just given you information that is readily available online. It's not hidden. The photo attached shows a picture I took from the gov website and highlighted is the section clearly station ground of giving citizenship to minors.
You failed to fully understand the picture you posted. A Canadian Born Child does NOT need to APPLY for citizenship, they do NOT need to fill out any form, their citizen is inherent in their birth on Canadian land, sea or air space, and guaranteed by the 'Charter of Rights' of Canada. The form you pictured and pasted is used by children APPLYING for citizenship based on parentage etc., you need to fully understand what you read and pasted, otherwise you make a fool of yourself.

But in Aurora, it might cost.more because of the place just like my end. Wherever she gives birth, the birth certificate comes out within 5 days cuz u apply online nd they send it out immediately

quote author=LAX89 post=35007523]

I know you can apply online. However, from the experience a friend just went through this past April in Bracebridge, the birth certificate did NOT come out in 5 days, I personally went to Service Ontario over 6 times, and they told me that even though we applied online, they still need to validate 'live birth' through the hospital in Bracebridge before they issue Birth Certificate, and this is all done electronically. Sadly, they had no way of going there physically to do this, so we had to wait. And after that, we still had to get 'Travel Certificate' from Nigerian embassy in Ottawa, they wanted to take forever to issue that as well, but I decided to make the 4 hour drive to get it.

@hotstepper we are planning to have the baby in Toronto march next yr.
@honey86 sorry about the statement .
See if @hotstepper can link you with any Nigerian/African OB/GYN outside of the GTA, they'll be cheaper for you. Ask for Aurora - Bracebridge area, a number of Nigerian women from Naija give birth in that area for around C$3k/$4K, assuming a normal delivery. Downside to giving birth in that area is that your child's birth certificate could take 2 weeks extra compared to GTA area (if you're in a hurry to get Baby's Canadian Passport for travel back to Naija), but they'll issue you 'Cerificate of Live Birth' same day you leave the hospital (usually 24hrs after normal childbirth, to save cost of hospital stay)
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by LAX89(m): 9:47pm On Jun 21, 2015
I would definitely go with U.S.A for obvious reasons.....it should cost your more than 3,000 or so to have a baby in

Texas....people from U.K and Canada even fly to U.S to give birth just for the citizenship....
Actually, a lot of Americans rush to Canada to give birth, just for citizenship, and as many Americans rush to Canada to apply for residency.

How exactly does a cow look 'smart' as you just stated? Your statement is a measure of your own level of smartness, which is not saying much about your reasoning. PMB has had his quality time with his beloved cows, he should now put Yusuf in charge of those cows, head to Aso Rock and start with the job Nigerians elected him to do.

If you want and need to know why he has not moved into the villa, then make use of the FOI law. Everyone has their own style and manner of doing things, the fact that you don't know why he has not moved in there, does not mean you should make up stories. Also, if you spend a little effort to research or read, you'll know that right after PMB's inauguration, workers started to refurbish the villa, and PMB has been out of the country mostly. And there could be other logistics and security issues and installations or revamping that needs to be done prior to his moving in there. And what is 'juju' anyway, and who believes in that ancient, ignorant nonsense anymore? And where and when did PMB tell you that he has not moved into the Villa because of this your 'juju' nonsense?

Why do you think its being proposed, did you at least 'Nuclear Power Generation', to personally get an idea what its all about, or do you just hope for someone to do it for you? For 'CHANGE' to come, every citizen has to be proactively involved, and for once make use of the brain and other resources at your disposal in contributing positively and meaningfully to Nigeria.
