Buhari has promised to deploy all resources in search of crude oil in the North: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/buhari-to-resume-search-for-oil-along-chad-basin/
Buhari and most Northerners are ardent proponents of sharia law in Nigeria.
Most oil blocks in Nigeria are owned by northerners, used by them to sustain their selfish feudalistic tradition which gave birth to almajiris and ultimately the animals called boko haram.
The sustenance of Nigeria is mostly as a result of oil from South-South, Nigeria. Which is why the north and south west shout and insist on "One Nigeria'.
There are proven huge oil reserves in South-East and South-South. And now buhari insists on spending resource from SS to find oil in the north.
The south-west just entered into a marriage of convenience with the north to produce buhari as president.
The South-South has oil, the South-East has oil, now buhari will do and spend whatever it takes to find oil in the north, which is good.
The amalgamation of Southern and Northern Nigeria effectively expired in 2014.
What will happen, or what will the North do when they discover billions of barrels of oil in the North? Obviously, the SS and SE have been ready to sustain themselves on their own for decades. So what happens to the South-West? |

Even one of my relatives....who cannot stand Buhari....thinks that he did the right thing executing those drug dealers....law or no law. Fallacious arrant nonsense! Most Nigerians would disagree with you, even Buhari himself doesn't believe he did the right thing then. In his CNN interview with Christiane Amanpour, on February 11th, Buhari himself pleaded with people NOT to judge him by his actions back then, so the only people that will agree with those actions will be boko haram animals and other sharia law advocates and sympathisers.
You said "law or no law", well, that is not how a civilized society operate. Millions of Nigerians stand in line at embassies of civilized countries every year, to beg for a visa to travel to these civilized countries, WHY? Nigerians need to decide if they want a barbaric or a civilized country. |

What Ojukwu said...excerpts from Interview:
OJUKWU: We’ve said this over and over again, so many times, and people don’t understand; they don’t want to actually. If you remember, I released Awolowo from jail. Even that, some people are beginning to contest as well. Awo was in jail in Calabar. Gowon knows and the whole of the federal establishment knows that at no point was Gowon in charge of the East. The East took orders from me. Now, how could Gowon have released Awolowo who was in Calabar? Because of the fact that I released him, it created quite a lot of rapport between Awo and myself and I know that before he went back to Ikenne, I set up a hotline between Ikenne and my bedroom in Enugu. He tried like an elder statesman to find a solution. Awolowo is a funny one. Don’t forget that the political purpose of the coup, the Ifeajuna coup that began all this, was to hand power over to Awo. angry angry angry angry angry angry angry angryWe young men respected him a great deal. He was a hero. I thought he was a hero and certainly I received him when I was governor. We talked and he was very vehement when he saw our complaints and he said that if the Igbos were forced out by Nigeria that he would take the Yorubas out also. I don’t know what anybody makes of that statement but it is simple. Whether he did or didn’t, it is too late. There is nothing you can do about it. So, he said this and I must have made some appropriate responses too. But it didn’t quite work out the way that we both thought. Awolowo, evidently, had a constant review of the Yoruba situation and took different path. That’s it. I don’t blame him for it. I have never done." |

Politics › Re: Jonathan Transition Team Trickish – Buhari Campaign Group by LAX89(m): 8:44pm On Apr 19, 2015 |
Omooba77: Director, Media and Communication of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Garba Shehu, has described the transition committee, set up by President Goodluck Jonathan, as trickish.
The committee set up by Jonathan, who lost the March 28 presidential election, is expected to meet with the one to be set up by the President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), ahead of the May 29 inauguration of the new administration. But Shehu, in an opinion article, which he released on Sunday, said Jonathan’s committee was constituted by “the worst of our prejudices.” He warned the Buhari-led incoming administration to be careful about its choice of people who would constitute its own version of the committee. He stated, “The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has earned an incredibly high amount of goodwill following his acceptance of the outcome of the election, which itself had the effect of de-escalating tensions not just among Nigerians but all over the continent.
“But the President’s committee on transition and handover looks to be a trickish one. It seems to be like one drawn to ‘massage’ the numbers and ensure safety for ‘team Jonathan’.
“Some names on that list have certainly made the eyes pop out of their sockets. In the President’s list, you have men and women who reflect the worst of our prejudices; men and women who have made themselves the mouthpieces for everything regressive.
“This is one reason why President Buhari and his party cannot be too careful on choosing who they will give their part of the assignment to. There is no room for complacency in doing this either. Nothing that puts the new government at a risk should be allowed to happen.”
Shehu, who warned that politicians should be excluded from the committee to be set up by Buhari, insisted that the committee should be peopled by technocrats.
http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-transition-team-trickish-buhari-campaign-group/ Campaigning and electioneering are very different from actual governing. At some point all these apc sanctimonious posturing bs needs to come to an end, or you'll be setting yourselves up for a catastrophic failure. Know this, Nigerians will be on your neck from day one, and you'll see how it feels. All your unrealistic bogus campaign promises has been collated, starting with your promised #5000 monthly 'Aduro', you'll be judged by your 'Holier-than-thou' promises, Nigerians are waiting, May 29th cant come soon enough. Thanks to social media 'you go hearam' from Day 1! |

*observing* Don't be naive, declaration of assets will not stop 'kwarrrruptio'. I can declare my assets, steal from the govt and hide it in a blind trust or with family members, then what! Buhari should start 'pighting kwarrrruptio' with tinubu and saraki, then remove the immunity clause for chief executives, then also institute assets declaration and push back security votes into an open budget. He should also openly disclose how much national assembly members are getting, and for what. These will be a good start. Also allocation of oil field/well should be by open bidding, and that should also be the case for all govt contracts. Reforming the judiciary should be his top priority, justice/prosecution should be swift and open, more prisons should be built as well. A law should be passed making a death sentence for govt officials who are guilty of kwarruptio, and execution should be by open, televised firing squad in the culprits village. |

ozoigbondu: The Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwan Akiolu, on Sunday organised a prayer session for peaceful co-existence in Lagos and Nigeria in general.
The prayer was conducted at the Iga Idunganran Palace of the royal father on Lagos Island. Akiolu said that the prayer was imperative to peaceful co-existence in Lagos and Nigeria in general, after peaceful conduct of the general elections in the state.
He urged different tribes in Lagos to work for the progress of the state.
The royal father urged the president-elect, retired Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to assist Lagos in repairing most of the damaged federal roads in the state.
Akiolu, who spoke in Yoruba language, said that when Buhari came to his palace during the campaign period, he was three hours behind schedule.
He said that Buhari complained of bad roads and he told him that when he becomes the president he should help the state to reconstruct the road. The Oba said he was sure that God would give him the power to do it.
Akiolu urged the incoming Governor of Lagos, to do what he promised the people.
The prayer was conducted by Imam Mujitabah Giwa, the Alawiye of Lagos and his league of Imams.
Giwa prayed for peaceful coexistence in Lagos and also for political leaders in the country.
Some traditional rulers in Lagos as well as white cap chiefs were present at the prayer session. Chief Rasak Okoya, Chairman of Eleganza Group was also among some dignitaries present.
