Too many universities with substandard facilities and resources for research . I guess this Govt is fucking crazy and they don’t know what they are doing . How is the new converted polytechnic will be financed ? Overbill students whose parents are not making enough ? Or under bill students and make up the short fall from their end ? Is this sustainable on the long run with paucity of funds from the fed govt .

The misconception the op is having is because of the currency involved . A weaken currency like Naira look much and a good currency like dollar look small. But the power and value can't be compared. 100k rent might look big for a month rent in US because you've converted it to our naira but do you also forget you earn in dollar. You get paid in dollar and jobs over there is base on hourly rate and you can do more than a job over there. You do a job for savings only and while the other job take care of your feeding and accommodation . Can you do that here in Nigeria ? You can only do a job here because the restriction is 8 to 5 daily .

On daily basis you can't guarantee the value of the money you have in your savings account as naira keep deteriorating ,if inflation rate is 20 % Just know that you've lost 20% value of what ever amount you have in savings . Investment is to help hedge inflation but do we have any investment that can give you 20% return ? Not possible . They can only give a little above a single digit which help to reduce the effect of inflation on your investment while those who those invest will lose 20% value. Does the one happen in the US ? The US dollar is strongly stable hence you can't compare standard of living between Nigeria and US . Food items are subsidized in the state ,do we have any food items subsidized here in Nigeria ?

You get tax refund yearly from the government ,do we have tax refund here in Nigeria ?You have access to sane environment, healthcare system, security, and other better infrastructures to increase the quality and span of life . But here in Nigeria is a death Zone. You have a system that works and far ahead of Nigeria in billion years.

They’re not going to call your company to confirm your pay either they just want to know how much are currently earning as a basis to present their own offer to you .

You must be book smart and street smart

There’s no right or wrong answer to this . Some will even ask you to present your payslip in the recruitment stages .

You need to place a value on yourself . You don’t need to tell them what you earn absolutely . You can add a premium amount which you perceive is good base on your competency skills and also research the financial ability of the new company on a going concern basis plus your your actual current salary. You sum it up and write it as your current salary . This idea is know as hedging . It will be difficult for them to pay less than what you’ve quoted .

My question is that, is these the only three companies carrying out legitimate business across the border in Nigeria ? If No , then the boarder should be opened to all other legitimate businesses as well .

Also, Accountant, External auditors or similar roles are not hot cake for offshore nomination due to increased number of applicants onshore.

For parent to pay this kind of E- learning fee . They need to show trust .

Before the pandemic ,most parent would have paid their kids school fees and after the pandemic the school ought to have calculated the amount of fees the student has exhausted before the school was shut down and provide refund to the parent first . Value must be given for any payment made . Since school wasn’t opening during those period the parent deserve refund before they establish their e learning platform this would enable the parent to trust them and pay for the home learning platform with a certain fixed amount for school fees so that they can meet their obligations .

Creation of more tertiary institutions is not a bad idea but currently we don’t need more . The ones we have currently are greatly underfunded in areas of finances, research and human capital .

All we need is creation of jobs that can absorb as many graduate as possible,good research institution that could solve social economic problem not just paper given institute .
