What would you recommend? Is it advisable to "Japa" to Europe/Canada or the United States for studies without full funding? Is it not better to "Japa" for work especially if you earn well in Nigeria? Considering the Economic situation in many of Nigeria's choicest countries to "Japa" to Is it even advisable to travel to do menial jobs when you are already building a professional career in Nigeria? It's another thing entirely if you don't have something tangible in Nigeria but the question is what truly motivates you to want to "Japa"?

It's a new year, you need to give yourself a breathing space. 2021 was good year for some and a very bad year for others. Some of your friends travelled abroad, passed that exam, got that job that you both wrote aptitude test for. It was a year filled with rejection mails for some, others an offer letter. Your friends got married, you got served breakfast and many more. Take it easy in this new year, do not rush into making commitments you will never fulfil. Take your time, strategise. Forget the past and focus on the promise the future holds. May this year be that year where all your desires become your reality. |
So yeah, I have been applying for a lot of jobs recently and honestly Nairaland has been of good help cause there is literally a thread for anything on here. I have applied for a lot of jobs as I said earlier, got shortlisted for most but it just feels as though I can't get past the first level of assessment. Before you know it, rejection mail don land. Today I just want to hear your stories, how were you able to cope with the depression that come right after? I understand that you need to have faith and all but when and where did you draw the line to maybe stop applying for jobs and start a business? Is there something one can do to have better aptitude test scores? I'm in a fix right and I believe most people are so please share your thoughts and let's us all learn from you. |
To think this government thinks it has made any progress is really appalling. Most have resorted to stealing and other crimes. Nothing justifies stealing and harming people to make ends meet. But to put food on the table, Men are willing to do anything. It's survival instinct kicking in. Make God help everyone shouldering burdens too heavy for them. |
Reminiscing, after a couple of years, i finally understand the grievances of millions of the unemployed. i mean one can literally feel the sting as soon as you are thrusted into the cold waters of reality after service. Some people advocated saving allowee for the rainy days. Without mincing words, having obligations and being the sole facilitator of your well-being comes at a price of never having the privilege of having your money to yourself. So then, what do you do? you graduated with the right honors and somewhat deemed intelligent but the course you seem to be charting has no longitude & latitude. It is easy to be poetic about joblessness and talk about the mess we are in with the present Nigeria while some wallow in depression, constantly doubting their ability. Prices have doubled, Food is for the rich. it is as bad as it gets, is your faith waning or you remain staunch in your faith of a bright future? How do you pay bills? How do you cope with the depression and seeing friends well on their way to that which you covet yourself? Do you feel things or its just me, myself and my thoughts. share your thoughts........... |
if you have pedabo past question, please share |
It's honestly going to be hard for you. You are her husband but not her best-friend. This guys probably knows all your wife's insecurities and history so much so that if they have a conversation right in front of you, you might have nothing to add. She isn't going to give up trying to get her best-friend and if she does, she will resent you for a longtime. |
Try to solve as many past question as you can, they repeated some questions for the verbal. Not too much tho. 19mins for 30 questions. There's no need to panic If you have done your homework. Just do your best and leave the rest to God . |
I would like to get it to. Thanks Afolabiayo81@yahoo.com |
Lagbaja88:Which country can you recommend? |
Cousin9999:I will try and do more research, thanks |
vickertony:Thanks, I appreciate your response |
I like the way you constructed your sentences and you are right if you say the "society'. The big question Is what makes up the 'society'? Most of the ideals or ideas, tribal differences and culture shaming were passed down generations to generations. Some men were thought from home that it's disrespect for them to get involved in any domestic chores. No matter how you persuade them they never see or think differently w have to stop blaming older generations for everything and take responsibility for ourselves. Don't let anyone's comment or disposition pressure into marriage. Just do you! |
I have always loved Canada and I would love to relocate, I would love a Master's in Accounting or management but they are mostly expensive. Please kindly give me some advise especially folks who are already in Canada. Thanks in advance as I anticipate your helpful responses. |
"Mrs' is not a woman's highest qualification and neither should it even be considered a qualification. Marriage is meant for two people. The fact that older generations made marriage look like an achievement is the main cause for resentment and rebellion in most young ladies today. They are made to live their life for men instead of themselves. Marriage is important but marrying the right person is more important. Why do we have high rate of divorce? |
i dont think its gonna be surprising that laliga will get more boring without this guy. now benzema can comfortably win laliga highest goal scorer ![]() i cant wait to watch the next el clasico

Here are five of the hardest pills to swallow. 1. It doesn't matter how wealthy or successful or famous or intelligent or respected you are in this world. You, together with every other poor, unknown less intelligent and least respected person in this world is going to end up in a grave some day. EVERY SINGLE person is going to die. And with every hour that passes by, you draw closer to your death. 2. You are never going to get back time wasted. You can't replace time. And you have very little of it. The average human lifespan is disappointing to say the least. A turtle has a higher chance of living longer than you. So spend your time wisely. 3. What you eat matters a lot. I know a lot of people don't like discussing about food. That's why it's a hard pill to swallow. WHAT YOU EAT MATTERS. Sadly, many people only realize this at a later age and try to eat healthy then to increase their chances of survival. Choose a healthy diet early on. You won't regret it. 4. Education matters. I know… our education system is terrible. It's focused on regurgitation of information. What I'm talking about is the process of learning. It's very important. Learn to teach yourself. Learn new skills, new information, new ways of thinking. Learning never truly ends. Money is great to have. But without the right education, you could lose all of it in less than a fortnight. 5.The elderly. Your parents, grandparents, and people much older than you… their advice is Golden 90% of the time. Seek it and take it. Not because they're always right. But these people have so much experience being wrong. They have so much experience failing. Learning from them is the best way to avoid repeating the mistakes they made. So yes, to a great degree… they know a lot more than you. And yes, they're right most of the time. culled from:- Quora |
Xxx123xxx:whether arewa, yoruba, or igbo. everyone deserves respect. |

Airoflaw:Good one from you bro.. God bless your hustle |
ShitStain:boss you no lie oo but i feel that someone of us make mistakes i mean some of us dont know the power of networking.. i remember during my NYSC days i didn't make much friends, some of my guys that made friends were able to do some connect to get jobs.. if you know you dont know people please just try and network |
chubinwa:honestly i had this problem, i never learnt a skill myself. i think thats one the things we have to do in this nigeria, try and have soft skills. with 70k you can actually start a side hustle, i cant think think of one right now but i am sure other reading this can give suggestions.. i want to remember that when vardy was 25 he was still a nobody infact puyol of barcelona won his first trophy at 27... tho it seems as if time is not on your side.. i am sure your testimonies will bear witness to your hard work.. |
Growing up, i seen a lot of movies showing the true reality of nigeria especially when it comes to securing a job in this country. Honestly this is something you can never understand if you dont have someone older who had to sit at home for a long time before God answered their prayers. our universities do not even help matters as most of us dont even have practical skills. Those things we didnt care about begin to count when they enter the labour market. if you are reading this and you are still an undergrad pls try and start a business and if you arent business inclined, build your CV and do internships. if you cant do all this try and gain practical skills There are jobs out there for undergrad please apply, if you are still serving please dont spend all your money on frivolities. try and save & invest. just try to plan ahead of time..... MOST IMPORTANTLY 1- have a linkedin profile, and connect (whether you are a graduate or not) 2- have a very well crafted CV 3- pray and work For those who want to check if their CV will pass the popular ATS scan, please try to use https://www.jobscan.com. it will tell you the gray areas in your CV dont despair your future is bright!!!!! |
honestly, manchester city will obliterate juve, i think if madrid manage to beat city. they will face a tough time beating juve cause of their defensive abilites and ramos would be overworked cause of ronaldo and dybala and higuain will be free to poach. but you are right i dont see barca and juve going far in this tornament |
There is no debate about this at all, for a team that has scored 1,466 goals in 883 matches and kept 292 clean sheet and even went ahead to beat liverpool 4-nil, juventus are in trouble if they meet honestly. in fact ronaldo is second player with the most assist in juve compared to manchester city where an average midfielder has at least 10 assist. honestly if juve wins champions league, they should just put asterisk** ![]() |
one of my friends called me and sought for my advice, this is his story; so my friend kunle actually watch news alot and with the current happenings especially with the issue of rape, so his curious 5 years old daughter has been seeing the news about george floyd and the trending rape endemic that is ravaging the US and NIgeria. out of curiousity which isnt strange for a 5 years old, she asked what is rape, daddy? kunle started sweating he was obviously in total discomfort as it never occurred to him to lecture or teach his girl-child about sex-education. he eventually told his daughter that rape means when someone put their hand or their dick into your private part. His 5 years old girl-child then squeezed her face then after like 5 mins she turned to her dad and said that means uncle shola is a rapist too!. well Shola is his junior brother if you have kids please talk to them about sex, sex-educate them. dont say too much that it will prick their fascination but say enough so they can be knowledgeable enough to protect themselves |
