lexyman: @leecodeman. your analysis was good but u don't judge by none competitive matches , you added preparatory matches which were the friendlies they played , if we are to go by number of friendlies the super flying eagles has played then we will be counting up to 30goals in the last 10matches and that record will make the German look like the cheap side ,I would have preferred u base ur analysis on number of games the Germans has played in this competition goals scored , and goals conceded .also number of times we have met at this age grade completion
The German machines has has about 6 of their players on the scoring sheet in which 3 of them has registered 3 goals each in this competition and variably others have scored 2goals and 1 goal respectively .in total they have scored total of 16goals in 3matches
. Meaning they re the team with the highest number of goals. On the average they have scored 5.5 goals per match . Conceded only 2 . Average of about 0.8 goal per match .
On the super flying eagles side . We have also played total number of 3 matches. With 8goals to show for it average of about 2.8 goals per match .also we have conceded the same number of goal in this competition 2goals in 3matches ,average of about 0.8 goal per. Also ,we have about 5players on the scoring sheet ,3 players with 2 goals each and others with 1 goal respectively .
We have met Germany at this age grade level 3times,German won twice and we had a win .
We are under 20 African champion and the German are under 20 Europe champion .
From this analysis it means the German has a edge over us in terms of goals scoring and past record . But I believe the super flying eagles can do wonders ,and are equal to the task by leveling their ability with the German and also surpass them with number of goals at the end of 90 mins . One thing will work for us ...#team work and ,individual brilliance will spice it up !
#Go super flying eagles
Cmon man...Germany was also not that impressive in their UEFA Championship either.
Against the strong teams, they struggled.
2-2 against Serbia
2-0 against Ukraine
Lost 5-1 against Austria, though later beat them in the return leg
1-1 against Slovakia
Laboured to beat Portugal 1-0
Nothing brilliantly impressive here. Where are the 8-1, 4-1 and 3-0 they beat the Fijis, Uzbekistans and the Hondurans?
The way they are being hyped, you would think they score nothing less than 3 goals in every match.
From my research, Germany is actually a not-too-fantastic side. Here are the results of their last 10 matches
Honduras U20 Germany U20 1 : 5
Germany U20 Uzbekistan U20 3 : 0
Germany U20 Fiji U20 8 : 1
Italy U20 Germany U20 2 : 1
Germany U20 Poland U20 1 : 2
Poland U20 Germany U20 0 : 2
Germany U20 Switzerland U21 1 : 1
Netherlands U20 Germany U20 1 : 1
Germany U20 Turkey U20 1 : 0
Germany U20 England U20 0 : 1
Let me break this down:
Prior to the World Cup, they played 7 matches and only scored 8 goals. They played against fairly good teams and scored an average of a goal per match. They lost 3 times, drew 2 times, and won 2 times. In fact, they lost against teams that didnt qualify for the World Cup.
What does that tell you? I leave you to be the judge.
Kennedyiheme: Don't panic, dstv will show that match, its gonna be a big shame if they don't female world cup, its not possible, they might nt show the current u20 world cup, bt trust me they'll show the 2015 female world cup
DSTV will not show it. They did not buy the rights. Ye all better go get StarTimes or go dust your aerial antennas.
You guys should check out the Argentina vs Austria highlights. The Argentines didnt win not because they were not good, but because the Austrian goalkeeper was not just brilliantly outstanding but also because luck was against them.
BascoVanVeli: what makes Germany unbeatable? you are the only one calculating anything we barely say we have a strong team, this is not some ish we just started saying u can check through out the thread, we believe we are the best and we know we have the best players that is plain as day no one jumps out at you like our boys in this events not even your Germans, how many of them will even smell senior action 2 maybe 3 but here we have our whole freakin super eagle lineup for the future and u want us to be scared of who? I fold my hands and shake my head to that assessment.
Kudos bro. You said my mind. Let them keep up with their pessimism.
Icon4s: I am sure u have been in this game long enough to know dat exposure and experience counts in football. Argentina are out probably bc d team lack quality. Is it nt d same team dat Tahiti beat 3-1?
Again, that's been selective. How about you talk about this Argentine team beating San Lorenzo who regularly represent Argentina in the South American championships? How about you say they defeated Brazil who defeated us? How about you say they have at least three players that world class pundits have predicted would explode in this World Cup? It's all selective. The reason you say they are shit-ty is because they are out. The same thing alot of people would have said about Germany if they went out in the group stages.
Icon4s: Which one is VIV again? And lady, this is U20 & nt like U17. I understand d fears of those that are afraid of Germany. Have u seen d German team play? They play with so much maturity and precision. They came to this tourney, jst like the Brazilians also with young professionals. 70% of the Nigerian team has nt even started playing professional football. Most are academy players. Things like these count especially at d crucial stages. That's y i have been quite conservative with my expectation from our team. Good enough a good no of them are17-18 yrs olds which maked dem legible to play in d next WYC hopefully then they would have become full professionals.
Can u c dat Success is a step ahead of the others? He has been a full prpfessional for well over 18months.
What you have done here is called selective argument. Are Argentine players not young professionals? Whereas, most of Ghanaian's players are from academies. Yet, the Academy boys dusted the young professionals and sent them packing. Football is not mathematics. We could avoid Germany and meet Ukraine and still be beaten. There are no guarantees in football.
Again, I ask: what is special about Germany? Are they better than Argentina? Would they have qualified in Ghana's group? Cmon, give me the best and let's see how it pans out.
Actually, I think we are better off meeting Germany. We already have an idea of how they play. It's going to be a sweet victory for us. They have a very easy group.
EagleScribes: Did anyone notice that from the two matches so far, the flying eagles lacks a playmaker in the mould of Xavi, Pirlo or Fabregas?
We need someone who can dictate the tempo of the game and lay those defence - splitting passes. We seem to struggle on what to do in the final third
I don't know who can fit into that
Matthew was the one doing that at the AYC. But I guess Manu has been looking for a way to accommodate his stars hence Kelechi's inclusion in the middle hindered Matthew against Brazil. If he was not injured, Matthew would have played today.
I'd seriously like Manu to move Kelechi to the wings and allow him cut inside. Then the question becomes, who does he cut to do that? Yahaya, Saviour, Moses, Success (since he prefers Taiwo in front)?
naturalwaves: This is a football discuss and you have no right to term his comment as being fooolish, if you cannot convince him to agree with you, then swerve and not be rude. You do not have the sole right to analysis and you do not know it all. Stop being unnecessarily belligerent on a social platform.
,That's because you have no idea what a foolish comment looks like. How is Kelechi overhyped? Read his comment again...this time making sure that your brain is functioning.
I have no time for fair weather fans. Hype cos of one game? smh
1miccza: Bros forget the hype from the foreign media do you know what happens to any player tagged as one of the best attackers in the world? The best clubs would fight for his signatures, the Iheanacho that i knew in his U-17 days is not the same person i saw in that first match all of a sudden he looked confused and unsure of himself. You can't call him the best attacker in the world because he played a couple of matches for Man city's junior team
thegoodjoe, please don't answer. Some foolish comments don't deserve responses.
I'm used to typical Nigerian fans saying rubbish, but today proves that Nigerian journalists are rub.bish. Imagine someone like guysly2much saying Sokari is overrated at Halftime because of the draw. And it was supported by his fellow mediocre journalists.
Here were the same guys who attested to the fact that every member of the team had justified their inclusion and worth all the celebrations.
Makes me really sad.
Weldone boys. I never lost hope even after the first half. Never will.
kellycute: So the coach is trying to blame nacho and yahaya for the team loss to brazil by benching them against korea. Comon guys that aint true. He should focus on his midfield. Those two infeanyis are poo. He benched nwakali and idowu expecting to win, how?. He should focus on his tactic and stop trying to make nacho and yahaya the scapegoat. I know say na cos nacho papa quarrel with coach why he removed nacho dat why manu wan show authority.#stillnotwatching#
Keep quiet! Stop whining like a little girl. Grow up!
