kannymoore: @ LeeCodeman
Brilliant opening paragraph. I agree with you.
But..
Bulbwa can Never start as a striker where Success is fit even if success arrives 5 days to the commencement of the tourney!
Impossicant!!
I can understand success coming off the bench for Awoniyi or Alhassan but Bulbwa??
PUH-LEASE!!! Mehn...this guy does not know Bulbwa o. He was one of the stars of the U-17 team before being dropped during the MRI tests. He's always being a first team player.
Let's make a quick comparison, buddy: Both Bulbwa and Success were first team players in the U-17. One goes ahead and signs in Europe where he's had a shitty season full of even shittier stats. Another stays with the team blending and gelling with the team the more and did not just continue to be a regular, he scored a breaktaking goal, the most beautiful goal I've ever seen any Nigerian player score in the Green-White-Green jersey. A goal whose technicality so baffled John Fashanu that he's patronising the NFF to lobby FIFA to consider it for the PUSKAS award. The goal won a tournament.
As a coach, who will you play given a choice between the two players? |
Sports › Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by LeeCodeman: 1:19pm On May 11, 2015 |
kannymoore: Well..here,i disagree.
Isaac's (somewhat)misfortune with his scoring duties isnot predicated upon his confidence but on the team setup.
It is one of the worst teams in Spain to be a striker as you will definitely be starved of service from the midfielders who are an absolute shitfest!
A beautiful case in study are the Granada careers of our two other proven strikers in the mould of Ikechukwu Uche and Odion Ighalo.
Odion struggled for goals in Granada like Kilode! Fast-forward to present day..he's an absolute goal scoring machine @the moment.
Ikechukwu Uche nko?.. his goals return in Granada should be the worst he's ever had in his professional footballing career while we all know him as a footballer who constantly scores in double digits, season after season.
Besides, both have reached totally different heights as footballers. Awoniyi can only boast of playing in the U20 African final while Success plays in the best football league in Europe and has played against the Messi and Ronaldo..the two best footballers in the world. Again, you lots need to consider that the confidence of a player scoring in almost every game will be higher than someone who has been starved of service.
No one is arguing against the quality of Isaac. We all saw it. What folks are saying is that he should not expect to walk into the team just a few days to the kickoff.
What is NFF even doing? This tournament is on the FIFA calendar and the rule states that players for such assignments should be released latest 2 weeks to the tournament kickoff. Why is the NFF not enforcing this rule?
For those saying we do not have a bench without Success, that's a big lie. Bulbwa can play as a striker. Ezeh can. Iheanacho can. Wasiu Jimoh has been impressing in camp. Pyaghara is an excellent goal scorer as seen in the local league, he just needs to understand the team more. So, we have 5 strikers apart from Taiwo and some say we dont have a capable bench.
With all said, I hope Success turns up and even with that, I dont see him displacing Taiwo especially in the first games in the tournament. |

Irresponsible bunch of administrators. They knew they were supposed to travel, yet didnt make adequate preparations for visas well before time.
Later you will see Pinnick saying he is applying scientific methods to our football preparations. Mtschew...bunch of losers!
I'm sure they've disrupted Manu Gaba's plans with their incompetencies. |

Nigeria U20 Germany trip shifted
The Nigeria Football Federation has revealed reasons for shifting the Flying Eagles trip to Germany but insists the team’s World Cup preparation remain intact
Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi says the Flying Eagles’ have been rescheduled owing to travel hitches.
Manu Garba’s team were billed to hit the European nation on Wednesday to continue preparations for the 2015 Fifa U20 World Cup.
Though a new date has not been set by the NFF, Sanusi assured that preparatory programmes for the African champions will not be disrupted in any way.
"The team will travel very soon but there is a slight challenge in the travel arrangement. The New Zealand visas will be switched in South Africa because we do not have New Zealand Embassy in Nigeria," Sanusi told local radio, Brila FM.
"So when, we went to South Africa to get New Zealand visas, the Embassy was on holidays and will resume on the 20th.
"Once we secure the visas we'll take them to the German Embassy for another round of validation process," he concluded.
Nigeria will face Brazil, Hungary and Korea DPR in the preliminaries of the World Cup in New Zealand.

zoboizee: I would implore coach Manu Garba to atleast give some untested overseas players a chance to prove their worth and if not good enough theycan be dropped like coach John Obuh did. Below will be my list for the provisional squad: ... Love the list. I will remove Saleh and put Billy Auta. Whatever happened to that kid everyone called the Nigerian Carlos Tevez. @joseph, @tbaba1234, any idea? |

The key to inplays is to be very careful of your picks. If you carefully select five to seven good ones, you will make more than people who did long but risky accumulations. If you select 3 bad straight picks even out of ten, you will most likely end the day at a loss.
Choose them very carefully.
It's better to pick 3 correct inplays out of three than to pick 7 correct inplays out of 10

blacnewton: This is the first time I'd be posting anything on this thread. But I have some games I'd like to share and they are are all Europa league games.
1) Zenith Petersburg vs Torino. Pick: Home win 1.6 (Zenith petersburg is a very good side at home and most teams find it hard to get even a point there. I really don't see Torino getting anything from this match)
2) Wolfsburg vs Intermilan. Pick: Home Win- 1.5. (Wolflsburg is on fire. Forget there weekend loss to Ausburg last weekend. They've been prolific at home since January 2015, Remember what they did to Bayern munich and I don't think intermilan has what it takes to cause an upset here tonight)
3) Fiorentina vs AS Roma. Pick: over 3.5 cards - 1.4 (This game is going to be an high tempo game from start to finish and I can't see nothing less than 5 cards in the game but to be on a safer side, over 3.5 cards is enough)
4) Villarreal vs Sevilla. Pick: over 3.5 cards-1.20 (if this were to be a la liga match, I won't even think twice, I'd pick over 5.5 cards. But hey this is Europe, the referee might go easy on them tonight. The game will be rough though and I think they'd get all 4 cards in the first half.)
Total Odds: 4.16 Stake wisely (Medium stake)... Good luck Good picks. I think you should be careful with Torino though. Torino defeated Athletico Bilbao at home. You know how 'special' spanish teams are.
If I wanna stake, I'd remove Torino's game and replace it with a home win for Napoli.
Goodluck |

Daninya11: Sir trust me on this we have the best u20 team in the world.. This team is thick. They play as a unit. They are technically advanced and tactically smart.. They have swallowed the philosophy of the coaching crew hook and line.. The coaching crew are passionate and love their jobs.. No room for laxity. I remember Marc O mark of the Voice of America telling the world in the sunny side of sports with sunny young that Nigeria will win the world cup in the UAE without mincing words. That he saw something he didn't see in other teams camp. After trouncing Mexico, they sent their message home.. This team is reliable, I don't think they have lost up to 5 matches in friendly and in tournament. They only lost to CIV in the African cup final on penalties in a tournament.. I have been following this team.. They can spring surprises.. Didn't you see CAF president watching their match against the Senegalese??.. They play a practical and pragmatic football, perfectly blending African and European style of football.. I wish them the very best of luck.. I pray that give us something to cheer about.. Between you and joseph1013, who has been following the team more? |
