Certain road fittings from the newly inaugurated Second Niger Bridge have been stolen by vandals.

An inside source from the works ministry that spoke with Punch confirmed the theft on Wednesday, specifying that the expansion joint walkway from axis 330 of the bridge was the missing item.

The source said, "Regrettably, it's accurate.

"The stolen fitting is a part of the bridge's expansion joints. This could potentially cause discomfort to drivers, so those travelling on the road should take caution."

A second insider affirmed the report and mentioned the supervising engineers' displeasure with the event.

It should be remembered that on May 23, former President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the N336 billion bridge, along with seven other infrastructural projects, via an online platform, Zoom.

The then Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola announced the bridge's completion at an October 2022 briefing, putting an end to nearly five decades of unfulfilled promises by preceding governments.

In a move to alleviate traffic in the South-East during the festive season, the Federal Government opened the Second Niger Bridge for use on December 15, 2022.

The Second Niger Bridge, proposed during the 1978/79 political campaign by then-candidate Shehu Shagari of the National Party of Nigeria, is similar to the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

This 1.6-kilometre-long bridge, linking Anambra and Delta states, aims to alleviate traffic on the existing Niger Bridge, spur economic activity, and connect the South-East with the rest of the country.

Hours after Chisom Flower accused the Afrobeat singer, Davido Adeleke of impregnating her, she tenders an apology as she loses her job.

Amidst multiple allegations from different women regarding being impregnated by the singer, Chisom had tagged along to reveal how she aborted for O.B.O.

She was followed by a severe backlash from netizens who tagged her as a clout chaser for revealing a piece of unnecessary information.

Chisom, however, has bowed to pressure as she tendered an apology to Davido and his fans after losing her job.

According to TMZ

Takeoff, one-third of Migos, is dead after an early morning shooting in Houston ... TMZ Hip Hop has confirmed.

Law enforcement sources, and multiple witnesses, tell us the fatal incident went down shortly after 2:30 AM ... that's when cops got the call for a man shot at a bowling alley called 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston.

We're told Takeoff and Quavo were there playing dice when an altercation broke out and that's when someone opened fire, shooting Takeoff ... either in the head or near to his head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

TMZ Hip Hop has obtained footage from the scene, and you can see Quavo -- in an orange shirt -- and others gathered around Takeoff. At first they tried to move him, but then put him back down, and Quavo yelled for someone to get help.

Police tell us 2 other people were shot and were taken to the hospital in private vehicles. It's unclear what their conditions are. Quavo was not injured.


Just a couple of hours before the shooting, Takeoff posted a selfie from the bowling alley. Quavo had posted video earlier in the night, driving around Houston with Jas Prince, who was celebrating his birthday.

Takeoff, who's real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was the youngest member of Migos. Quavo was his uncle, and Offset his cousin.

They came together as a group in 2008 in Georgia, and became multi-platinum hitmakers ... dropping their first major hit, "Versace," in 2013. They would hit number one on Billboard in 2016 with "Bad and Boujee."

Most recently, Quavo and Offset had released a project as the duo, Unc & Phew. They had just released their latest music video, "Messy," on Monday.
