I used doctoresparati in 2015 and renewed my visa Dec 2018 with their letter. Well, am not sure I know someone who used them and got turned back sha.(there might be but I don't know yet) So I don't think they are red flagged ‍♀️

Youngjenny:
for birthing purposes, i thought we could apply for the b1/b2 visa is it different from birthign visa? because someone mentioned that if you use it for birth, you wont be allowed to renew? someone please help clarify as i want to apply for myself and mum and also i can see from the thread that certain hospitals are red flags for VOs (such as doctoresparati and thats what i intended to use) please has anyone used them this 2019 to apply for visa and got it successfully? any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks for this feedback . Well its obvious they dint answer the main issue here. Most of us presented thesame discounted letter during previous pregnancy and visa was approved , so why has that changed . It's like they are setting a trap for us to fall into.
Well as someone said here . It's their country and their rules o. It's just to have an open mind if visa is approved or not.

If you visit our website at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html, you will see that receiving medical care in the United States on a B1/B2 visa is legal. However, the website also states that applicants must demonstrate that they can afford to pay the "doctors’ fees, hospitalization fees, and all medical-related expenses". Though every situation is different, accepting discounts or paying less than the full amount can raise questions about the applicant's finances, credibility, and their intent and ability to pay for the full cost of their care.”

Congrats . Thank God for divine intervention.
Nersh:
I have been a silent reader of this thread and it has been extremely helpful in guiding me as i prepare for my baby’s birth in the US. I decided to share my interview with the VO:
VO: good afternoon, passport please. Why r u going to the US?
Me: afternoon. To have my baby. Hands over passport
VO: where else have you travelled to?
Me: UK, SA, dubai, Mauritius etc
VO: for holiday?
Me: Not only. School, work.
VO: ok. So where will you be staying in the US and do you have your doctor’s documents?
ME: will be staying with an uncle in Chicago. Hands over doctor’s correspondence and budget sheet over. I had a budget of about $12k for medicals.
VO: ok. Reviews docs. Looks at a list on her wall seems to be a list of procing for medicals across cities. So what do you do and how much do you earn per month.
Me: tells her.
VO: thank you. You have been approved for a visa and you can pick up in 3 days at VI. Also please beware of discounts when you go as this might affect your duture chances of renewing your visa.

I thank her, say i have seen that in some of my research and will do well to heed her warning.

She wishes me well with the baby and i leave. This was over in 5 minutes.

It seems this discount issue is a big deal. And intwreatingly, all the hospitals i have contacted have. Discount for self pay patients. The only one who didnt was quoting $50k.

Not sure what to do but will wait till 2 years time to worry.

Now waiting for my POE

Hello Mama.
Am using Del-Sol Medical Center. For the airbnb I will send you information via email because it's not a fixed rate based on number of people you are coming with but it's sure cheaper than intown suite and others I've researched around .
See you soon in elpaso
TheMrsE:

Hello all.

Arrived New York via AirFrance from Abuja yesterday. Didn't get fit to fly from my doctor but they airline insisted I go to port health at Abuja airport to get fit to fly. I paid N2,000. Flight to Paris and JFK were ok. Flew with my mum and three year old daughter(US citizen). My daughter slept most of both flights...Thank God.

Did self-service at JFK. Got a printout without the "X" sign so we were directed to a line where they just stamp you in. Got to our turn and the CBP(while stamping our passports) just asked how long we are staying, how much we have and if I have lived in the US before. I answered 9weeks, Bleep dollars and No respectively. He didn't check my daughters passports. Told him he didn't stamp any of her passports(US and Nigerian passports) and he said he did not need to. We went to pick our bags and boarded a connecting flight to DC. Got home and found one of our boxes was opened for search by TSA. The box was also badly destroyed at the side that our stuff were hanging out of the box. Don't know if we lost anything yet as I am yet to unpack.

All in all, we thank God for journey mercies.

Heading to Richmond Virginia tomorrow.

Please for those already in the US, please which line can I buy that I can make calls to Nigeria for affordable rates and also give me enough data?

My Nigerian lines are not agreeing to roam.

Thank you.

Actually I never knew they wud ask me but I din't want a situation I will be lacking any document . Well if you are comfortable going with only the child's US passport then that's fine but most times they ask for the BC.i had my Nigeria Addy on mine and that was what the VO highlighted. But since yours doesn't have the Nigeria Addy , I think it's safest to leave it out then and hand over the US passport.

Gosina:
I went with mine and this was what landed me in trouble , I was refused because I used an atlanta address as my local address in the birth certificate. Hope you don’t have that issue . Good luck all the same

No because the letter the hospital and OBGYN wrote specifically addressed the issue about the discount (I requested for them to address that clause)
Greatg0809:
Pls we’re u asked about discount
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Leez29: 3:09pm On Feb 21, 2019
Yes I got fit to fly from my doctor in Nigeria but they dint even ask me for it all the way. I flew at 33 weeks plus .

isysleek:
Thank God for you. Please I'm also using Air France. Did you get fit to fly from your doctor in Nigeria to show to the airline? Also does Air France have a format for fit to fly? Thank you.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Leez29: 5:42pm On Feb 19, 2019
Amen.... There was no issue. My bill was way below $8k
I had gotten itemized bill and a letter from Del Sol, Obgyn, pediatrician stating specifically that I dint use tax payers funds . Also doctoresparati letter now addresses the discount given .

BabaOman:
We wish you safe delivery. Please was there any issue with your payments with first delivery when you went for your interview?

I want to use Doctoresparati.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Leez29: 2:12pm On Feb 19, 2019
Hello Mommas , hope everyone is doing fine. My trip went on quite smoothly - came in through JFK from Lagos with airfrance . Then took Delta flight to Elpaso through Atlanta, it was quite a tirey journey but glad I went through JFK .
My visa had expired but I dint do Dropbox as I saw from this thread that most people got called for interview so I quietly donated myself for a fresh interview without dropbox to save time and stories .
Using Doctoresparati letter (same I used in 2015 when I had my son) I applied with my sister (since am going with my son and will need help) but she was rejected. So I was scarred to apply for my mum cos of someones experience here as well.
My mum's visa was approved no much question only asked why she was going , my visa page, how many kids and grandkids she had.
When we got to JFK, I showed the officers my son America passport and she asked I join the citizen line and go ahead to do the self machine stuff. I stayed on the line for five mins and the officer asked me only one question - how long are you here for and I told him 3months and he stamped me and said have a nice stay . That was it , no agriculture though I had few food items and had a little below $10k as I dint want to waste time declaring.
I bless God for His favor cos we were treated like we just came back to our country. No hassles , no questions , nothing .
Am in Elpaso now in a very comfy accomodation I secured through airbnb -
Sorry for my long writeup. I wish everyone going for interview and those who have gotten visa a safe trip and safe delivery for all of us. May God grant us favor and above all Wisdom in making any decision.

It was same medical visa I reapplied for , purpose-child birth....

Was your renewal for a medical visa or vacation (visiting)?
From what I’ve observed from this thread, most renewals for medical visas have been rejected.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Leez29: 10:25pm On Jan 03, 2019
Same as mine. Residential was naija and mailing was US.

Hello Leez,
I used Nigerian address as residential and mailing address was US is that what you used as well or both was Nigeria?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Leez29: 8:59pm On Jan 03, 2019
I got mine approved last month-December 2018. ( I did not use Dropbox as I heard most people were being rejected ) Had my baby in 2015 , paid less than $8k and got itemized and detailed letter from the hospital ,OBGYN and ped separately stating I did not use taxpayers funds or insurance. And I stated that am going back to thesame place to birth my second baby. The VO said something like "I noticed you used your Nigeria address on your son's birth certificate , that is very good cos it was the right thing" so I don't know if that helped my case.

Exactly at omobendel I renewed mine successfully and I used Hnmc and the renewal was done in November so that’s still in the last 6 months

Hello great pple,
I hav benefited so much from this thread. I decided to share my experience getting a visa on my blank passport. Please every info I give is my personal opinion. I personally applied the visa for myself and wife from start to finish (advise No 1. Don't use visa agents). In our DS160 I made it clear that we are going to US to have our baby and nothing else (advise No 2- don't lie when filling your forms). Had d visa interview on 31 Aug in Abj. The interview went like this.
VO- good morning
Me- morning ma'am
Vo- (collected our confirmation page and scan) I can see that you are travelling to have your baby
Me- yeah, our first baby
Vo- congrats
Me- thank you
Vo- so have u contacted a doctor?
Me- of course ( sliding d letter from Dr FF)
Vo - how much is d budget
Me- 17000usd
Vo- who's paying
Me- I
Vo- do u have a relative in d US
Me- nope
Vo - so where u staying?
My wife- (smiles) 2401synott rd, Richmond Tx
Me- pampered stay, it's a concierge apartment.
Vo - what does your wife do?
My wife - am a banker
Vo- am approving your visa, pick it up at dhl centre on Wednesday and wish you a safe trip
We - thank you.
(That was easy for us tho I suspect that it's cos I was dressed in my mlitary uniforms).

My wife will be traveling in Oct but she's worried that am not coming with her and scared of POE 's wahala. We planing on booking for arik to JFK (cos is d most affordable).

Pls share your experiences with the immigration officials at New York POE. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Adios
Congrats....Guess you were the one I saw at the embassy on same day with a mil uniform. Advice you check with Arik Office at Transcorp Abuja instead of calling cos most of the customer care personel give wrong info on the phone. Goodluck

Hello fam......how are all the mamas and papas doing. I finally got to Elpaso last night after my long Waka from Abuja-Frankfurt-Denver-Elpaso.
My Denver POE:
Cbp: hello ma'am, what are you in the states for?
Me: hello, childbirth
Cbp: is this your first time coming to the US
Me:yes
Cbp: is your family here? Do you have any family or friends here?
Me: nope in Nigeria.
Cbp : kindly put your right four fingers here(he scans) pls come with me for inspection since it's your first time here
Second officer : hello Mrs ......... I see your husband is a........with.......
Me: yes sir
Officer :have you contacted the doctor and gotten the bill?
Me: yes I have
(He askes if I've heard of boko haram and if I live around there. Told him no) he smiles and says they always pray for our safety in Nigeria. Na so I thank am and bless am join. grin
Officer: in case you need more money, ask your husband to send it to you. Do not receive any aid from the hospital. And since your child is going to be a citizen, make sure you make five copies of your child's document for his school etc.
Sends me to another officer where I declared my cash which was a little over 10k. No agriculture inspection (my indomie was intact as I made sure I removed the wrap one after the other from naija).
I dint use wheelchair all through my journey and got quick service when I mention to them that am pregnant esp when boarding any of the flight. I was the only black person onboard frankfurt-denver-elpaso.
Thank God for favor and I pray same for everyone intending to travel......am at His Grace Lodge (they picked me up from the airport) and am loving the place. Thanks to my naira land bestie. Wish us all safe delivery

[quote author=iolite88 post=37926028]@Leez29 when do you leave and did you book for wheel chair? Cause lufthansa is asking me to pay $100 to see their Dr and get certified that I need the wheel chair.

Oh well am leaving tomorrow but I don't intend using wheelchair as my body fit carry my belle (am 8months but my bump is like 5months) so lemme hustle it rather than pay $100 that I can use for shopping. Lol....
