Dear All,

Greetings from here. Just needing a piece of positive counsel here. It has been subtle and recurrent but I decided to share this particular one.

My wife travelled for a burial with my kids without my knowledge. I travelled far away for work and call home everyday. Just recently I called very early in the morning to tell my wife I will be coming home by weekend,she somewhat sounded surprised and said instead of me coming on Friday I should come on Sunday.

I didn't say anything,I pretended not to be angry with that. Yet I immediately did a cash transfer for feeding and balance for the kids school fees that same morning we were discussing.

Later in the evening,I expected her to call and update me on the fees payment,but I didn't receive any call,I then had to call but her lines were all switched off,at this point I was worried especially when I couldn't talk to the kids.

I then called a neighbor to help me check if they are at home only to confirm they travelled for burial which the neighbor got to know from a phone conversation between my wife and her sister.

At this point, I called my wife's brother only to confirm that they were having a burial in their village, which I am not aware of,even as an inlaw.

Right now am very upset and I don't want to act in anger,please how can I react to this conspiracy between her and her family carrying my car with my kids to a distant village for burial without my knowledge.

Please have you ever been asked "what do you want from me?" by a lady that you just wanted to help with no strings attached?

I was driving home yesterday after work and a lady (average looking) flagged me to stop and i decided to stop and gave her a lift. I asked her where she was going and she mentioned a bustop before mine and i said lucky you... We had a lil chat as i drove her and she seemed really fun, We got to her bustop and i offered to be taking her to work in the morning since she stays close to my place. Then suddenly her face changed and she asked the annoying question "Oga what do you want from me?".. at that point i was dumbfounded and sad at same time. But i had to quickly smile and said "nothing" then i drove off.

For me i find it sad, a lot of people are not used to good people doing good things without wanting anything in return.

How do you feel and react when asked that question?

My brother's wife is troublesome. My brother is a quiet type. When I was staying with them it's always one trouble or the other. I was thinking that it was because of me that is making her to be that aggressive on him so I relocated to my uncle's house.
The bone of contention is always
1.You don't buy clothes for me
2.You don't buy my body cream
3.You don't care if I make my hair or not etc
My brother is just an average income earner that stays in a rented apartment that he pays 170.000 per year. With 3 kids. He doesn't have a car
For me, I think he's trying his best to make his wife understand that this is not time to spend money anyhow because of the economy, to no avail
Last week I visited them and met my brother when he was asking an elderly man in the neigbourhood of the best way to formally lay complain to her family . Because according to him she is now acting more provocative that may lead to a fight. And he does not want to lay his hand on her so that she will not turn the narrative that is because he beats her that is why she was doing what she was doing to him.

I just wish I can advise him but I'm not capable, that is why I said I should seek mature opinion here on what you think he should do

Though my brother said that her brother are not supporting her, her mother seems to be silent when she heard about it sometime ago. That may be because she is too old to even think of cautioning her daughter who she is depending on.

Things like to wash bathroom, bath the children, and general house work, according to the wife is no longer her responsibility again. She wants my brother to get a house help that will do those things. Even though she does not work. Since her business went under do to her lack of saving mentallity, and starting another one for her according to my brother is a waste of money.

That is the portion of every broke married men. Women are generally the same (including u op) they don't respect a broke man get that into ur thick head. Ur brother should man up and stop tolerating nonsense in the name of gentleman.

From time to time you hear men talking about weight loss. You hear them talking about their female friends having gym time. Some go to the deliberate extent of playing you videos of women in the the gym.

If you are observant enough, those people shown in the gym are actors and actresses acting out a script. In fact, to top it all off, they use male fitness trainers to dress and act like female and you the unsuspecting audience get to marvel at the flatness of their tummy.

Don't fall for it, even the women amongst them are not yet mothers hence the near perfect tummy you see on tv.

It's absolutely natural to put on weight once you are into motherhood. Motherhood coupled with being a career woman gives less space for gym time.

I am not saying you cannot excercise. Excercise is very good for the heart. You look beautiful enough with your weight and if you want to excercise, do it sole to impress yourself. Know your limits and mind your heart beat.

The men that emphasis weight loss don't even have any gym they go to. Don't let people body shame you. Weight is Nature

About 2 years ago, my brother started working for this company as an intern. The agreement with his manager was that he will be confirmed within 6 months. After about 18months without confirmation, he resigned from the job but still kept contact with people from his former job.

Fast forward to some weeks ago, he heard that his former company needed personnel at a new branch in a new state and it's strictly an internal recruitment. So he met his former manager and expressed interest, the manager pushed his name (eligibility is dependent solely on recommendation by your branch manager) and he alongside others went through series of interviews at the end of which he was employed. Suffice to say that the HR manager was part of these interviews.

He was sent an offer letter plus other documents and he resumed last week monday. Last week Tuesday, he was called by the HRM who asked him series of questions after which the HRM said he didn't know all this while that my brother isn't an active staff and that he (the HRM) was hoodwinked by the branch manager. His argument was tgat there were other eligible candidates who could have been recommended, but the manager brought someone from outside.

Now, the offer letter to my brother has been withdrawn. Same guy that resigned his job the moment he received this offer, he has even told everyone that mattered tgat he was relocating.
Please is there anything we can do to salvage this, it's so heartbreaking. I don't know where they expect him to start from when he gets home.
