It is possible to pass memories through genetics.
Like say for example, jerking or hypnic response when dreaming you are falling, it's a survival trait passed by your ancestors because they fall quite often when they sleep.

Or people having dreams they are drowning when they haven't drown before. It's also a memory from your ancestors.

It hasn't been fully confirmed yet.
If behavior can be passed through genetics, so also memories.
The child behaving like his grandad isn't any form of reincarnation, it's his grandad, like the way people walk, talk or laugh like their parents.
You are more likely to take up trait from your grandparents than your parent actually. This is scientifically proven
Memories are not genetically transmisible

SultanOfPuna:
I never beloved in reincarnation
But after visiting my aunt. I have been left speechless from what I saw.
My grandad died 2001.
My cousin was born 2017
This boy is an ancestor in disguise

He eats just exactly like my grandfather.
My grandad had a unique style of rolling Eba before he eats.
This boy does exactly like that when he is eating Eba
I have never seen anybody roll eba like my grandad. Only this boy and nobody taught him.
I asked my aunt, and she confessed to me that the thing frightens her as nobody taught him how to roll Eba like my grandad.

To make matters worse, this boy keeps disturbing my aunt to take him to village so he can see their compound.
Once they decided to go to village, this boy was walking around the whole compound like he has been there before.

And to cap it off, he likes to seat in the chair my grandad loved sitting.

How can a 5 year old be saying and doing things like ancestors.
Is it possible that my grandad reincarnated into my 5 year old cousin cry

Edit: im worried my aunt might see this,
so I have removed some details just to keep it anonymous.
Nothing like that. Your cousin is a brand new human being living a new life for the first time. Stop assuming things that do not exist

I knew him before leaving the country. He was in Nigeria and was doing quite okay, even though I was earning more than him.

We separated for a while since I wanted to focus a little on my new life. But recently, we connected again. I'm just realizing I still have something for him in spite of the time and distance. But I'm really confused about starting anything because it will mean that I have to bring him over.

What are the chances he won't take advantage of me?
THAT WILL EASILY BE THE TOP 3 GREATEST MISTAKES OF YOUR LIFE.

You should have lived in Canada long enough to know this is not a good idea. Maybe loneliness has overcome you and you can not think straight again.

Let me tell you, this "confusion" you're experiencing right now is the last remaining bit of wisdom in you telling you it is a bad idea.

I will not post on this thread anymore.
TravelRe: Who Noticed This About Nigerians Who Have Family Members Abroad? by legionISproteus: 5:45pm On Sep 18, 2022
zumbigbo:
Some half-truths, Europeans always travel for greener pastures. Any white man you see in Nigeria, including the pope, is there to chop wella. Many Portuguese emigrated to Angola en masse following their economic meltdown in 2012. Why is Brazil and Argentina full of Italians, Ukranians and Spanish from over 100 years ago. They stayed and never came back to Europe. Humans always move for brighter days
Argentina is riled with former Nazi generals that fled Europe after WWII.
TravelRe: Who Noticed This About Nigerians Who Have Family Members Abroad? by legionISproteus: 5:41pm On Sep 18, 2022
hamouston91:
I noticed that most Nigerians feel so much achievement upon having a family member outside the country. I have seen Nigerians proudly declare the following (just an example tough) :

1. My uncle in Canada

2. My Aunty in UK

3. My Brother in the US

4. My son in Germany

5. My cousin in South Africa

6. My husband is in the United Arab Emirates

7. My daughter in Italy

8. My brother in Malaysia

9. My nephew in India

10. My brother sister uncle daughter son in Kuwait
Etc.
I observe a pride in each of these people, and I realized that it doesn't even matter which country the family resides in, for the homers, they always feel like they won a noble prize by having a family abroad.
Some of these people have families in Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel, Libya, Kuwait, Honduras, Greece etc. And they puff with pride as if it's a life worth achievement.
Others have families in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, France, South Africa, Australia etc, which is still note worthy.

But the Question is; why do most Nigerians count having a family abroad as a big achievement, and even make mockery of their fellow Nigerians who do not have a family member abroad. Or those who refuse to mention that they have families abroad?

Is it a Nigerian thing to behave like that, or is it a global thing, do other countries nationals behave like that?

Your opinion is the back bone of this thread. Thank you.
Considering the fact it takes a lot to leave a third world countty like Nigeria, it is in fact a thing of pride.

Compare this with first world nations were the citizens can easily travel out of their country for business or pleasure, they will not see it as a huge deal.

Maybe you should try to leave Nigeria or get close to a family member who is trying to leave if they are not being secretive about it. That could give you another perspective.

BONUS POINT: Some countries make it illegal or damn right difficult using the legal route to leave the country. North Korea is a typical example. The unique thing with this case is that you dare not flaunt the fact your family member has left the country otherwise the ones left in North Korea will be hounded by government agents and punished severely.

I met a man through my long term friend and he has made his intentions about marriage known from the start. He loves me, is attracted to me and loves to do PDA when we are out together.

He has everything a woman would want in her husband, but I am not attracted to him neither do I have feelings for him. I love him as a friend tho because his physical attributes will not matter in that instance. I am slightly taller than him, even tho I'm not a tall person, I am dark skinned and he is darker than me. He has a really small stature and you wouldn't know he has money or works in good company.

He has told me his plans for us and it's a really good one, he works in top management role and he earns over 20 million naira per annum.

I have told him what I feel and he is really persistent, he says I should try and reciprocate his feelings and love towards me and the feelings will grow, that I shouldn't worry about the height of our kids angry
I can't lie, I don't feel proud this few times he's done PDA with me, I see the way that makes him happy, making me feel like a trophy wife.

There was this other guy I had feelings and attraction for, and it disappeared the first time I saw him and realized he isn't who he said he is. This confirms to me that feelings is flimsy and depends on circumstances.

To married people here, both long or short years in marriage; is attraction and feelings one of the major things holding down your marriage? Did you marry who you weren't really attracted to but you're happy now in the marriage? How will I deal with public perception of us especially when it's comes to flaunting him as my husband?
I have entered my late 20s and I don't wanna waste time, I don't wanna waste my time in vain waiting for the guy I'll feel all these for, what if he isn't worth it?
I appreciate you told man how you really feel and he should use his brain (if he has a working one) and leave you alone. You will definitely see a husband when you are ready to marry. Do not force it.

I have explained the little I know and I still need expert advice on this.

NB some student nurse actually told him it's not possible! undecided

What exactly is part 3 necessary for? Has this thread suddenly run out of space that it can’t go on anymore? I’m still clueless why your guys do this, opening multiple parts to these threads and not allow it go on for as long as possible. Have things changed so much for landed immigrants that there’s suddenly a need for part 3? I’m yet to get a sane explanation.
Nairaland has multiple threads that have run into hundreds and even thousands of pages without the need to open a new “part”. Several threads in Movies, Sports, etc are in thousands of pages without stop, but only here do you see people twitching about opening a new thread so they can be the first to post.
I just tire for them. The matter go come be like season film.

I don't spread fake news. I learn to master the art of blogging by twisting headlines and using clickbait headlines like any good blogger.
You see this twisting of headlines is a major source of misinformation today. There is a growing number of readers who avoid articles with sensational headlines because they story does not rhyme with the topic, hence a waste of precious time.

What do you loose by writing a story headline exactly as it is?

I think the FG should impose a 5 -7years ban on all health graduates from playing thier services abroad...

They shld sends the. Circular of the. Ban to all nation's. That if a graduates ayeas of gradaution from a Nigerian federal government and state government skl doesn't show over 5-7 years after graduating.. they musnt be employed.. lest thier will b a bilateral fracas btw the. Two countries...

The health ppl are too selfish.. they go to sskl on free tuition and next day they jet out to giv services to nation's who wouldn't allow u skl thier at a moderate cost if u want to b a health practitioner...

This is my take!

I will start this thread with a statement of fact

96 % of monikers begging for help (especially posting of account numbers) can be traced to jobs and vacancy section. A huge number of these percentage are University graduates.

If you can't help these people, you have no reason trying to bring them down. It takes a lot of courage before you can even ask people for things not to talk of posting your details online. But I guess hunger can do wonders and make people forget who they are.

Some monikers who are poverty riden rise up to form CIA. But when you go through their dairy or posts, it's riden of penury. They have nothing to give, not even sympathy.

You gain nothing trying to bring other people down. No one is broke forever, we rise by lifting others
Na one guy with Tecno phone dey run all these begging threads
