Military campaign is ongoing in all six geo-political zones, so don't get too emotional over a Python dancing. NORTH EAST :- Operation Gama Aiki which is a multi-national operation with troops from the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) member states. This together with Operation Crackdown is an operation within operation aimed to mop up Boko Terrorists in the North East.” NORTH CENTRAL :- has Operation Safe Haven stationed in Plateau State with area of operation extending to Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa and Kwara States to quell ethno-religious conflicts and other criminal activities. NORTH WEST :- Operation Sara Daji and Operation Harbin Kunama ( Scorpion) in the North West, established to battle the criminal activities of armed bandits, cattle rustlers and robbers operating particularly in Zamfara, Kaduna and fringes of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina and Kano states. SOUTH SOUTH :- the Navy has a major operation codenamed Operation Delta Safe which was formerly Operation Pulo Shield. While Nigerian Army’s Operation Crocodile Smile, and Navy’s Operation Tsera Teku. These operations are all aimed at crushing the resurgent Niger Delta militancy and other acts of criminality like oil theft, vandalism, and bunkering in the region. SOUTH WEST:- , there is Operation Awase with a mandate to contain the criminal operations around Ogun-Lagos axis, particularly in Arepo where illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism are regular occurrences. SOUTH EAST :- Operation Iron Fence to combat armed robbers, hooligans and kidnappers. Then a new Operation Python Dance to sustain the previous operation. Finally, Operation Mesa (Python) , which is a Joint Task Force (JTF) operation against all forms of criminal activities in all the states of the federation. Obviously Nigeria is a "Security State". |
IGBOS: IS LACK OF TACT ALSO LACK OF SENSE? When Col Ojukwu was misled to secede from Nigeria in 1967, against the restraining voices of statesmen like Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, it proved to be a great tragedy for Igbos and those in the Biafran enclave. Military tacticians felt Ojukwu ought to have coasted along with the Nigerian authorities until he had fortified himself enough to overthrow Gowon's government in Lagos. By the time war began and he attempted to overrun the Mid-West and the West, it was too late. It did not come as a surprise to some discerning persons who were aghast with Ojukwu's appointment of two medical doctors (Francis Ibiam and Michael Okpara) as his military and political advisers! The result was inevitable as the British-backed government of Gowon prevailed and Biafra collapsed after much sufferings and deaths of Igbos. Before his secession, Ojukwu had been assured by Chief Obafemi Awolowo that the Yorubas would equally pull out of Nigeria if the Igbos left. Now, fifty years after that sad mistake, the Igbo people seem ready for a repeat performance. This time it is an Nnamdi Kanu who was not yet born during that war, that is set to lead the Igbos. Ojukwu, a military man had plenty of advantages over this fellow Kanu whose antecedents/experience we know nothing of. Ojukwu had his wife and children with him in Biafra but Kanu has his in Britain where they are citizens. Just as Ojukwu hoped that the Yorubas would follow him in secession, so are the Fani Kayodes and Ayo Fayoses assuring Kanu that they are with him. I see history repeating itself in Biafra. The ultimate beneficiaries of the civil war were the Yoruba. They are poised for a similar windfall again! The killings, destructions, and rapes during the civil war occurred in the East. So will it be again if Kanu allows Buhari to unleash his military against the South East. One thing l am certain of is that even if Kanu has managed to amass some arms and weapons, he certainly has no air force or navy that can contend with the Nigerian military. Moreover, if Kanu cannot ensure that the war is fought in Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Zaria, Minna, Yola, etc, he should just forget armed hostilities. For now, the Hausa Fulani control the polity, the Yoruba control administration, and the Igbo control commerce in Nigeria. Let the Igbos concentrate on their area of strength and comparative advantage. They should go on and become the Taiwan of Africa. Relocate your prime investments to the East. Reproduce Aspamda, Idumota, Alaba International markets in the East. Stop laying your heavy investments in the West, Abuja and the North. Thereafter, ease out Aspamda and other markets/investments in the West and North. Let them come and make their purchases from Igbo land. Turn the South East into another Israel, Munich, California, and Barcelona! My amazement is this: where are our retired Igbo military generals in all this? I expect that the Ebitu Ukiwes, Ndubuisi Kanus, Ike Nwachukwus, Ihejirikas should be cautioning the young man Nnamdi Kanu. This is no time for their silence. Ndigbo should learn the Arab strategy of withholding hostilities until such a time that you are stronger than your opponent. To whom head is given, brain is expected.... I pray it wont be long before they realise they are causing nuisance all over. |
DO YOU HATE SOMEONE? .Please go through. A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, So the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week. Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.... The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go. Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime "Moral of the story: Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take! Love Everyone and Be Loved. |
Do not listen to their advice to defend your land with your life. When you die, their children, who are mostly residing overseas will inherit the land you and your friends died for. They are not your friends. They continue to push you to stand up against the national government from their peaceful homes in the abroad and you obeyed them by carrying firewood and stones to attack Nigerian Army. My brothers and sisters, you see the land you are defending with your life would be sold to them at 2 plots for 1 USD, Canadian dollar or mama Charlie pound after you are gone. They will buy and keep it for their children to build whatever they want on it. Kanu's child(ren) is/are not in Nigeria just like theirs. They are not your friends. We don't want another civil war in Nigeria. There is, at least another way to protest and actualize your dream than violence. |

They obey speed limit of 10mi/hr where they live in the abroad without police watching them but continue to shout Biafra or death on their Facebook and telling you to attack Nigerian (Buhari's) army. What they are telling you is that your head is for carrying loads. Borrow yourself a brain. You are not a coward. They are. |

Nigeria is not a democracy. Its continual description as one is a reportorial error and a commonly held fallacy. This error arises from the inaccurate definition of democracy in terms of electioneering rituals. It is not a question of a particular national style or of a Nigerian "home-grown" variant of democracy; the extant model simply fails all the tests of democratic definition. If Nigeria is not a democracy, then what is it? At worst, one might say with some reason that Nigeria is a kakistocracy – a failing state with a dysfunctional system designed to promote the emergence of the worst breed as leaders. At best, Nigeria is merely in a post-military era. Nigeria's post-military era is characterized by the following: an authoritarian model of leadership of the sort exemplified by former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the twisted versions that abound at the gubernatorial level. An absence of real political parties that are ideological camps as against the oligarchic coalitions of personality cults whose only goal is power as an end in itself. Selections rather than elections are the norm. The candidates at various levels are simply anointed by robber-barons and godfathers in return for direct channels for plundering the public treasury. Most of the so-called opposition parties were created to facilitate the ambitions of one politician. The national elections themselves were not a contest of ideas but of cash, brigandage and who could rig the most. In the end, the party with the most access to state resources and the greater number of self-serving oligarchs won. Because of fundamental inequities in power-sharing and other inequalities in the federation, dubious and undemocratic contraptions such as zoning are used to maintain the balance of power between the various sectors of the polity fragmented by unimaginative politicians whether between north and south; Christians and Muslims or Majority ethnic groups and minorities. In effect, Nigerian elections guided as they are by considerations other than merit, do not produce the best people for public office. When the issues of geography, ethnicity and religion become benchmarks for elective office, then elections cannot be said to be free and fair. Contraptions like zoning (and federal character and quota system) have made the public square a circus of mediocrity, and are responsible for the dangerous devaluation of governance and our public institutions. Nairalanders, is Nigeria a democratic state? |
A question for the guys... A beautiful lady asks for your pen in the banking hall. What’s the best way to make your move and get closer to her after giving her the pen?

Everybody knows that at checkpoint you don't press phone talkless of making calls. Soldiers don't see phone at checkpoint they will think you want to detonate bomb. The reason for that is that phone can be use as a bomb detonator, Even if he does not know, why arguing? |
Ooni did not really know the greeting style of Lagos,
let the truth be told. He should have learnt the greeting style in Lagos
Island. ...He should have raised his two hands, bang
his feet on ground alternatively and say; "twale
Baba" or "buate Baba", "owo meji loke fun eeyan
kan", "iba e 1million". ...Kabiyesi will then respond and say; "gbayi padi mi,
o ya chop knuckle".... |
