guys is it true that lagos is not there |
I'm a Nigerian from kwara state. I studied BSc Mathematics from University of Ilorin. I'm a free minded person, I make friends all the time and I have also master the art of understanding what my friends like and what they dislike so that I could avoid offending them to the possible minimum. As a yoruba man that studied and live in yoruba land 70% of my friends are yoruba, 10% are Igbo, 10% are hausa and 10% are others. Out of all my friends, I can vow for 10% of them with credible and uncompromising character. With these odds it is obvious that out of the 10% that are of impeccable characters 7% will be Yoruba, 1% will be Igbo, 1% will be Hausa and 1% will be others. Since cabinet are suppose to be those guys with outstanding characters and those you know you can conveniently work with then the appointment is most likely to be how it is today. What most people fail to understand is that cabinet is not to represent the interest of your tribe but to represent the interest of the appointer ( which is the president) and most importantly to represent the interest of Nigerians. But we see national appointment as representing your tribe and all that which is not suppose to be. If you want to represent the interest of your tribe you go for National assembly. and again the president MUST be convenient with those he is working with that is why the constitution provide for him to hand pick who so ever he wishes. What really matters is delivering is promise with who so ever he wishes to pick not the tribe that he decided to pick the most from. But I guess people are more concern about the tribe doing the job than the outcome of the job even if it means hindering the process for the best result.... In nutshell my point is if you are a yoruba man you are mostly likely to work with much of yoruba men than any other person. I would rather hold him on achievement and not on appointment. ..........#May_God_guide_our_leaders_right. Comr J.O Akande(aka JAVA) |
I sincerely believe we have to stop importation of almost everything, I mean almost everything. Starting from laptops to phones to TV and so. In four years I believe we would have started producing those shit ourself. All we would have to do is to channel all the money in buying those product from abroad into the production of the goods. For example I believe if the materials are made available our engineers here will make hell of laptops, phones or anything we may think of, and most importantly the need for them to build it , obviously if their is no other way then they will have to do it with whatever it takes. Let me put it to you today that we can never develop has long has we work so hard but in the end we dash our hard earn money to some idiot playing fools abroad in the name of buying some nonsense goods that we could have produce ourselves. There is no way we can develop if our engineers are walking all the street of lagos in search for job and the same time we are giving our own money away to some engineers in china and US . There is no way we can develop when an engineer use 5years in the University just to maintain operate or even setup what they are supposed to build in the first place. There is no way we can develop if we keep importing fan, electric pressing iron, clipper and so on, things that even I that study mathematics can google and build if I have the fund while our engineers are jobless. There is no way we can develop if we keep importing preserved tomato if my mom that doesn't go to school at all can preserve tomato for months in peak milk tin tightly sealed. There is no easy way to anything and hard circumstance requires hard measures, doing that might cause public outcry but at the end everybody will learn to understand and thank you for taking the bold step. Nobody will die but at the end millions will be save, employment will super boost and economy will grow at unimaginable rate even Naira will be strongest. All we need is the bold step out of the 21st century colonization. #WeWillSurvive #WeCanDoIt ---Com. J.O. Akande http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/nigerians-time-now-to-decide-what-not-to-import/ |
mistabiola:Na who be this man in front of Buhari
|
OKDnigeria:if is just for security matter then INEC shouldn't be there since INEC chief is not security chief or if Jonathan had wanted to do it in a matured and unbiased way he could have called the presence of buhari too (since he buhari knows too well about the security matters and is also a candidate in the election just like Jonathan ) or better still he could have requested the presence of elder statesmen in the meeting because only God knows what went down in the meeting between PDP(Jonathan and security chiefs ) and INEC chief |

Fresh students to get PC tablets All newly admitted students of the University of Ilorin will have a PC tablet each to boost the institution's ICT drive and enhance e- communication between the students and their lecturers. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, disclosed this last Wednesday (October 2, 2013) while answering questions on a special Unilorin 89.3 FM live interview programme, 'Talk to the VC', to mark his one year in office. The media chat, moderated by Segun Alabi of Unilorin 89.3 FM, has Abiodun Fagbemi of The Guardian, Layiwola Olarenwaju, Daily Sun; Arowona Abdulazeez, Nigerian Pilot; Hammed Shittu, This Day, and Olusegun Adebayo of Youth Spring news magazine, as members of the interview panel. Prof. Ambali said, “We hope to start a new era with those coming in because we have to empower them to face the challenges of the ICT world,” adding that “all the curriculum and courseware will be on the tablet so that you have the whole classroom on your hand.” The Vice-Chancellor charged the students to concentrate on their primary reason for coming to the University, which is learning, noting that his administration is committed to providing a comfortable environment for the students with adequate accommodation facilities on campus. Prof. Ambali also noted that the University was committed to producing graduates endowed with requisite entrepreneurship skills in order to prepare them for the larger society. The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University, in addition to reviewing its academic curriculum every five years to reflect current trends, is partnering professional bodies and industries to ensure that graduates are exposed to skills that will be of value to them and to the development of the society at large. He disclosed that the Federal Government, through the Tertiary Education Fund (TETFund), has approved funds for the establishment of a permanent Entrepreneurship Centre in the University. The Professor of Veterinary Medicine identified improved security on campus, staff development, infrastructural developments, and improved internet connectivity as some of the achievements recorded in the last one year under his leadership. Prof. Ambali also noted that significant steps are being taken to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the University through such ventures as the University Plantation and the Zoo as well as through alumni contributions. The Vice-Chancellor then expressed appreciation to staff members of the University for their commitment and dedication towards the development of the institution. Describing the journey so far as “a good experience”, Professor Ambali appreciated God for making it possible for him to have been able to make a difference in the lives of staff and students of the University. The Vice-Chancellor, who described leadership as living by example, attributed the peaceful atmosphere that pervades the University campus to the transparency in the management of the University affairs and the fact that the authority always carries all stakeholders along in all its dealings. Prof. Ambali pointed out that the contributions of the University of Ilorin has been widely acknowledged in terms of research output, stable academic calendar, and the production of highly skilled and disciplined graduates. He noted that in the last 12 months, security of lives and property has been improved upon, and, as such, people can move around freely while members of staff can comfortably stay in their various offices and laboratories without fear of any security threat. The Vice Chancellor submitted that the University has been able to sponsor staff to conferences, improve on the access to internet connectivity as well as support the students in carrying out their educational and social activities, adding that the University is working to be one of the topmost Universities in the world. Projecting into the future, Prof. Ambali pledged to continue to support staff welfare, security of lives and property on campus, and provision of a favourable environment for learning and research, and improvement on lecture delivery by providing better lecture rooms. http://unilorin.edu.ng/index.php/en/237-unilorinnews/1963
