DCP Abba Kyari, sir, I so much respect your person and the good service you have been doing in the NPF. however, I know you are a busy man who would always delegate your boys to do certain things in your absence, personally I would suggest you investigate some of these allegations, I DON'T TRUST SARS, nor the police officers. God bless NPF, GOD BLESS NIGERIA. |

If these allegations against the SARS (NIGERIA POLICE) is true, then they should be tried. I know Evans is a suspected criminal however, He is assumed innocent until proved guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. SARS officers treat suspects like they are not human, any SARS officer thats found to kill any suspect should be sentenced to life in prison or sent to the hang man. |

U said it all, I have been using Peugeot 307 for 2 years now no issues. I always ensure that I use only a good Peugeot Mechanic and Rewire. Never called "oga i fit do am" to fix my car. It's strong, reliable and very good. If am to buy another car, I will still go for a Peugeot. iyaegin: Why cause a Furore and run off without settling it.what i know is this Peugeots are very electronically sensitive cars especially 406 models n above so you cannot just go meet any mechanic otherwise OYO is your case so some novice driver who knows nothing about cars is equally also a danger. But an experienced and attentive driver with the right mechanic will do just fine but for a newbie just go toyota or hyundai and have peace of mind.i have struggled with my Peugeot but i love the car its a delight to drive, super steady on top speed and my riders are almost always wowed...infact for me i always catch a thrill when i am watching policemen confused as to whether to stop me or not as am approaching( my car is perceived to be used mostly by military folks) you cannot vandalize the car/ brainbox...Oyo is also your case without the car key...so like most other cars it has its pros and cons but not just any driver should use it... |

You are correct sir, Ogunvic and Romeo have been very helpful. Ogunvic encouraged me to quit my slavery job and embrace uber, He is a guy with a clean heart, He is human hence could err, let's see beyond his errors. As regards how they poorly managed the reported incident, let's not forget that the fleet management is relatively new. The major problem they had is that they couldn't manage the situation as a company. By just sending a someone to the police station as the fleet management representative would have prevented the situation from degenerating. pls house let's look beyond these guys mistakes, no one has so far reported they duped him, they are hustlers just like all of us, they only have a management issue. Let's see beyond the situation and move forward. olaboy1: The fleet managers so far I’ve not committed any fraud or scam albeit little communication gaps and misunderstanding. We should cut them some slacks and offer suggestions on how they can navigate the terrain. We shouldn’t put them down, because I am so proud when I see Nigerians trying to make legitimate income.
It’s an added advantage that they are also Uber drivers. No need to go so hard on them, they strike me as committed hustlers. And they are good friends to Gazzuzz also which makes repairs more easier and straightforward for them.
We also need to appreciate the wealth of knowledge and information they share here on a daily basis. Please guys there are Nigerian investors looking here to invest, and it’s not good if we chase them away with all the undue bad reps we give Ogunvic and Romeo.
Thanks for understanding. |

... note that it is Peugeot boxer that brings in most tomatoes and other perishables from far north including Maiduguri, sokoto... olaboy1: Wait a minute, I thought ogunvic just introduced you to Peugeot, so why then are you speaking as an authority. You keep saying I drive on Uber as if it's anything different from company's massive fleet of cars plying same roads you ply. Uber or no Uber in today's world we work with data not some sit duck chest beating experience.
I don't want to know about your experience, any day any time I will always work with comparative data, and the data reaching me now shows a massive difference between Peugeot and Toyota when you source OEM parts for both in a year.
So I stand by my words Toyota is better in transport business compared to Peugeot. I don't even need to go far with my argument, I spent major part of my life in Naija and I want you to go to Ojota or ojodu berger motor parks and tell me what buses ply Lagos Abuja route (Toyota hiace or Peugeot boxer?) |

Bro, I use a Peugeot 307, for about 2 years now, I have never had issues with it. I used a Toyota corolla before this, the corolla parts are more expensive than the Peugeot and repaired it more frequently. For example my my Peugeot engine is #100k, that corolla costs over 200k. Bro. Every car is good in it's own way, but largely depends user(s) maintenance history. kingreign: When last did your timing belt snapped? When last did your car had that misfire and when did it leak oil from the seals? When did the BSI lock you out last?

@cooleo
Driving is not for everyone.
However, if you lost your job and you HAVE TO resort to driving, its a very cool alternative for the time being.
Also, if you are looking for a way to quickly raise some capital or something, this business is a cool one for that.
There are a lot of challenges you wouldn't know of until you get on the road(just like it is in every other business). More so, what happens if you quit ur job now, and Uber/taxify are not available to you again(close down for whatever reason or introduce some laws that doesn't make you eligible or some other thing). you would have lost both ways
Unless you are not enjoying your job presently and you are looking for a way out, you could create a big picture of your dream business and use taxify/Uber to raise funds for it. AND GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS
Whichever way, it is advisable to venture into it part time while you are still on your job and see if it is something you can join for a longer haul.
For me, I took to this taxify biz after loosing a job. Believe me, the experience was GOLDEN. I can't quantify everything I learnt in less than 3 months, places i got to, that i wouldn't go on a normal day. People I met, good , bad and ugly
I am a lover of adventure and my experience with taxify was an awesome one. Through the experience, I have built more confidence in myself because I have re-affirmed that i can make money whether on a job or not, so I will never consider myself at the mercy of an employer.
I loved the autonomy it gave me. I was my own boss, decided when I wanted to make money.
I am out of Taxify business cos I got a job that gives me time to develop and focus more on my dreams.
Asides, all these, if driving is your passion or hobby like ogunvich , then you've got the right business.
However, whichever scenario seems to be ur case, whether you want the Uber/Taxify biz as a full time, part time or a means to an end. I can promise you that this thread will help you maximize the journey. Just stay here and keep learning.
Good luck |
