Q. What is Currency Devaluation?

Q. How will devaluation affect export?

Q. How will devaluation affect imports?

A. The effect of devaluation on imports is directly opposite its effect on exports. It will make imports more expensive. This will in turn reduce demand for imports. Imports become costlier because the country’s currency is now reduced in value when compared to the exchange rate.


Q. What would be the effect of devaluation on indigenous goods?

A. Devaluation will, in a way, ‘force’ consumers to buy indigenous goods. This is because imported goods will become costlier when compared to indigenous products.


Q. What is the difference between devaluation and depreciation?

A. While devaluation is a deliberate adjustment, depreciation is a decrease in a currency’s value caused by unfavourable market conditions.

Q. Does devaluation have any disadvantage?

Yes, it may lead to inflation.

While devaluating a currency can seem like an attractive option, it can have negative consequences, says investopedia.com. By making imports more expensive, it protects domestic industries who may then become less efficient without the pressure of competition. Higher exports relative to imports can also increase aggregate demand, which can lead to inflation.

Unilorin is great... So is lautech. Which is a technology/science based school...


Unilorin is great. Fast academic calendar and admission is basically merit based, that is if you score well in d putme you should be atleast guaranteed like 85% admission offer. However, the competition is outrageously high and they only admit less than 10 D.E students in each department(note::: to the best of my knowledge based on 2015/2016 DE application/admission success or otherwise)

Lautech I have little knowledge on. So since I can't give what I don't have, I guess someone else would help out.


BTW::: I think when choosing a school the ff should be considered:

* Academic history/Relevance in the Job market
* Course (since some schools are known to produce the best in some specific courses)
* School fee
* Academic calendar (fast, steady or slow plus how often or seldom do they go on strike and others)
* Catchment (that is if your ex instituition is within their catchment area so as to increase your chances of admission. Although its not REALLY important but who knows, it might come in handy during admission)
* If they accept your course or your grade, your "O" level combination for the course etcetera etcetera. I heard some schools accept lower credit- majority Northern schools.

Disagree with this... i am an indigen of ilorin scored 220 in jamb and 83 in postume not given admsn,, but a friend of mine who scored 215 in jamb and 40 in post ume got admsn with d same course i applied for,,, did u call that MERIT BASED..... Abeg leave trash for LAWMA
