Did you marry for love? Was there any other incentive? Pedro P.: (chuckles) I married more than just for love—I married with love. Most people think that things have to be done for love, as if love were a goal to achieve. The truth is, you have to do things with love, and to do them with love you must know how to love. Unfortunately many people do not know how to love because they may not have learned to do that well.No one is born knowing how to love, love is a learned feeling, some know how to love well, others love badly and others do not know how to love.As I say, true love is so difficult to find that most people are content to be 'badly-loved'. And to know how to love another person, one must know how to love oneself and for that one has to love oneself, to know oneself and to understand oneself. In other societies, marriage is seen as a business,as a way to earn a living or as a way to access other social levels. All those forms are contrary to love. I see..(smiling brightly)If your spouse were reading this now, what would you like her to know? Pedro P. : (grins) She knows what I think and she will not find out anything new from me through this interview. However,I would tell her that I love her and that I have the desire and the will to love her always and that I am in love with her. All right!..(Pedro and I laugh together) What would you change if you could go back in time?Any regrets? Pedro P.:It is not possible for now to turn back time. However,I think it's never too late to change things that are not right in oneself. For example, before I met my darling wife, I smoked a lot.But I understood that it was not giving me any benefit and I stopped smoking and I do not do it any more.If someone wants to change something in himself,it is not necessary to turn back the time. Simply change it now. Start doing it now. Do not look back regretting that you did not have time to change one thing or the other. However, people are resistant to change.Maybe based on their fears. Again, that is simply a lack of self-love. To conclude, any parting words?Advice to the unmarried? Pedro P.:These tips go for men and women alike: >The best advice I can give you is to study.Use your energy and youth to study. >However, I would also advise you to own your own destiny.Never let anyone control your lives.Do not let them put limits on what you can achieve. >Do not limit your abilities by GETTING MARRIED SO YOUNG!Take time to get to know yourselves and study each other.

https://race.bitc.org.uk/sites/default/files/styles/featured_image/public/two_black_men_talking.jpg?itok=sVkSc_nT Good day,Pedro and thank you for coming.Briefly, tell us something about yourself. Pedro P.: I am an adult person.I studied Business Administration.I have a Master's degree in Finance and I own some small investments that allow me to have some economic and financial independence. First, tell us:How did you meet your wife? Pedro P.: I met her while studying and then we met again later in life. So,your marriage was arranged? Pedro P. : No.That model of arranged marriages is not common on this side of the Western South Hemisphere. However, personally, I think that arranged marriages go against human nature..against the individual freedom of people to decide their own way and destiny. Did/Does your family approve of your union? If Yes,would you care if they didn't? Pedro P.:Since arranged marriages here are not common,no approval is required.Although, traditionally it may exist;it is not necessary.People are free to decide with whom to marry or not to marry. There is no obligation or family approval. How long did you know each other before getting married? Was there any courtship? Pedro P. : We knew each other for a few months when we were studying.. Obviously we went through a period of falling in love and courtship.. (Pedro looks into the distance and smiles, obviously reminiscing) During this stage,we met each other, exchanged ways of thinking and expectations—it was a stage of knowledge. If you feel the desire to share your life with someone, the least you can do is to know the other person and know what she or he wants. More than benefits, there are challenges. However, no one is born knowing things. One must learn them on the way.The important thing is that there is true love, that is,there is desire, respect, admiration and mutual trust,an enriching relationship, that the sacrifices are fruitful and that there is a high level of expectation that means mutual growth. OK.Briefly, tell us what married life is like. Are there any perks or challenges? Pedro P.: Married life is enriching when there is mutual love and interest. There are always new things to discover and learn. Obviously, there are disagreements and differences, and it is good to have them in a context of freedom. The worst mistake that people in marriages make is to believe that doing so makes them the owners of the other person. That is fatal. Nobody owns anyone. And having that clear, one can talk and exchange ideas that mutually benefit the couple. To argue does not mean to fight, but to exchange ideas and that must always happen. One does not marry a piece of furniture or an object. One marries a person,a human being who has his own thoughts and ways of thinking. One must know how to add up the differences, and one also has to be honest and humble to recognize when the other person is right. Have you two ever disagreed/quarrelled?How do you settle? Pedro P.: Disagreements always arise. As I said, having an arguement or disagreement is not to quarrel.Disagreements serve to make decisions of mutual consensus, not to impose ideas or to impose behaviors. It is about knowing how to understand the other person and knowing how to recognize the valuable aspects of opinions contrary or different from ours. |
Marriage:Bigger Than the 'I do's. By Lemuel Irabor Contact: lifeandasixteenyearold@gmail.com https://d1zpvjny0s6omk.cloudfront.net/media/cache/4d/08/4d0886ab56d2f67f667ac41eea3f1dbd.jpg Peter,Do you take Jacintha as your lawfully-wedded wife to love, cherish and protect till death do you part?”—a church wedding scene People have various views on marriage. To some,it is a joyful union with the one person that completes them.To others,it is a fulfillment of societal obligation. To a few, marriage is simply a coming-of-age event. However marriage is viewed, nothing changes the fact that it is a life-changing,memorable event. In fact, marriage,in many climes, seems to be the only instance where things are left to one's own will and volition. “One doesn't choose the day one is born, One doesn't naturally choose the day one dies, But one could choose the day one gets married..” This does not mean that forced or arranged marriages do not occur. However,in the developing world, this practice is fast going into antiquity. Young men and women these days are implored to get married to the ones they love. And marriage is the only rite that cuts across all religions and races, pointing to a common human origin. “Marriage is a union between a man and a woman, physically consummated and made perfect in love.” Although the liberal 21st century has brought with it conjugal practices like gay marriage, bestial unions and marriage to objects and sex automatons,we must remember that marriage is a course of nature and a means to ensure the continuation of the human race.As such, practices as listed above, which point to the contrary should be duly proscribed and condemned. ○Why should I marry? Is marriage that important and compulsory? In a bid to further understand the importance of the concept of a conjugal union,I had a word with Pedro ,a South-American mogul. Pedro has been married for years and had so much to say about his experience. Read the full interview below.. NB: This post is Copyright Protected. Donald3d:Check this out.. 4 tips that are guaranteed to free anyone from any addiction. https://lemuelirabor./2018/02/12/4-tips-to-help-you-become-free-of-your-every-addiction/ |
4. Confide in someone you trust https://www.drugabuse.com/wp-content/uploads/drugabuse-shutterstock272600351-people-holding-hands-feature-image-drug-addiction-treatment.jpg A counselor, psychologist, mature mentor or even your best friend will do. We all know the maxim, ‘a problem shared is half-solved’ and can all attest to its truthfulness. Let someone who loves and cares about you know about your struggle. In doing so, you not only get moral support; you get someone who’ll monitor your progress closely, and correct you with love. Cc Fynestboi, mynd44, lalasticlala SOURCE: http://lirabor..com/2018/01/4-tips-to-help-you-become-free-of-your.html https://lemuelirabor./2018/02/12/4-tips-to-help-you-become-free-of-your-every-addiction/ |
3. Resist and RESIST https://thedoctorweighsin.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Fighting-Drug-Addiction-Is-Not-Easy-But-You-Are-Not-Alone.jpg There is no easy way to say this. You’re most likely gonna get withdrawal symptoms. So, you best prepare for them. This is because your brain has become used to the raised dopamine levels in the body, caused by your indulgence in these activities. While you wait for your body to adjust to the normal dopamine levels, experts suggest that you engage in a sporting activity. For masturbation addicts, whenever you feel the urge, go for a quick run. This helps you release all the pent-up stress & frustration that may be compelling you to masturbate. However, for drug & substance addicts, the next tip is probably the best option for you. |
2. Remove all the ‘bridges’ Now that you’ve got the inspiration and determination to be free, the next step is to get rid of all the clutter that creates a suitable environment for you to engage in the activity. For example, if you’re addicted to porn, get rid of all adult magazines and erotic movies. If you surf the web for pornographic content, installing software that block adult sites/adverts is also recommended. If you’re looking to quit binging, you should get rid of all the liquor around you. Whether natural (e.g fermented fruit sugars) or industrially-prepared.

By Lemuel Irabor https://addictionresource.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/What-is-Addiction_2.png According to The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 1 in every 12 teens is indulging one form of addiction or another. From everyday activities like eating; to despicable acts like alcohol, pornography, drug & substance abuse, and illicit sex; addiction is as common as it is deadly. Psychologists and psychoanalysts say addiction is harmful—no matter the kind of activity—because although it can be pleasurable, the continuation of which becomes compulsive, interferes with ordinary responsibilities and concerns, such as work. Here are four (4) tips that have been proven time and time again to rid anyone from any type of addiction. 1. Determine to be free https://www.gr0wing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Addictiona.jpg The first step on your journey to being free of your addiction is actually taken on the inside. You have to develop a will, find a reason to quit whatever addiction you’re into. This helps to keep you focused on the task of getting free; as you constantly remind yourself, “I’m doing this because..” ; “I’m trying to quit this addiction for __’s sake” |

* * * When I came down the stairs, Tessy had a plate containing some rice & gravy before her which she was eating from. I didn’t need a seer to tell me that it was Martha who’d dished the food. Speaking of Tessy and Martha.. Tessy and I had stood in the rain for about seven minutes before she let up enough for me to reach out my left hand and hail a cab. She had been crying all the time. The taxi driver was a fifty-something avuncular fellow and he didn’t say anything as I tried to get Tessy to get into the car. Our eyes met once as I assisted Tessy into the car, and he nodded in understanding. Cool guy, I thought. The crying didn’t stop in the cab, although it let up some. I was still trying to figure out what would make Tessy behave the way she was, when the cab stopped in front of my home. YES, MY HOME! Why? For starters, I didn’t know where she lived. And I’d be a big jerk if I left her on her own in this state. She could hurt herself. Or get hurt by someone. Or worse. Marvel opened the door to the sight of Theresa clinging to my frame. I could fit a handful of pop corn through the gap between his lips as he let us in. Me straining under the added weight. Tessy limping painfully. “Marvel, who’s at the d—“, Martha said coming out of the kitchen, stopping in mid-sentence when she saw our august visitor. Damn! How am I going to explain everything to them? But what happened next made me respect my siblings forever.. “Oh, come here darling”, Martha said as she moved to take Tessy from me. I was expecting to get into another episode of coercing Tessy to go with her, but was surprised when Theresa eagerly went into Martha’s arms. OK, officially, girls are weird. “C’mon”, Martha said softly as she led Tessy to the stairs, “let’s get you out of those wet clothes.” At the foot of the stairs, Martha turned to face me, bearing a look that said “You have some explaining to do.” Like hell, I did. When they left, Marvel turned to me, obviously puzzled. “What did you do to her?” Huh? “Huh?” “What did you do to her?”, he repeated. It sounded like an accusation. “Nothing.” Marvel frowned. “Nothing?” “It wasn’t me.” Even as I said this, I had a flashback of the scene at Pierre’s. I really hoped it wasn’t me. “Alright, bro.” Marv walked up to me and gave me a “bro hug.” God knows I needed it. “I believe you. Take it easy,” he said. What did I tell you? I had the best siblings in the world. Leaving small puddles of water in my wake, I ran up the stairs to change. Now, I was back downstairs, standing at the foot of the stairs. I was peering past Marv who was watching a TV program, at Tessy while she ate quietly. Even with all that was going on, she still managed to eat like a lady. Some stuff, my mind said to me. OK quit it, I told it in riposte. Tessy must either have superhuman hearing to have heard me walk down the stairs over Marv’s TV show, or some psychic ability that notifies her anytime she’s being stared at; because she stopped eating suddenly and turned to face me. She turned back to her food immediately, acting like I’d done something wrong by just being there. Argh, here we go again! I walked up to the dining table and took the seat directly facing her. She bowed her head, continued chewing for a moment or two, then sighed heavily. “Martin..” “Tessy..” PLEASE SCROLL DOWN |

Hey, I'm here if you need me. ![]() |
Contd "Tessy, calm yourself." I puffed, catching my breath. We struggled a bit and I fought to retain my grip. Tessy eventually maneuvred her arm from my grip and bolted across the road..without looking! Needless to say, I was terrified. And without thinking, I took off after her. A speeding red cab, whose driver saw her in time, swerved hard to his right, narrowly missing her and almost hitting me. I felt like a deer caught in the headlights (no, not the song) for a few moments. Gratefully, the driver of the cab-- obviously an expert-- managed to avoid me and sped on, blaring his horn for good effect. A bus screeched to a halt inches from Tessy's left leg. It was so close, I could hardly breathe. The obviously irked driver waved a fist and shouted obscenities in Yoruba. I could pick out the equivalents of 'punk kid' and 'young Casanova'. Wait.. the man thinks this is some kind of love game? Adults! Tessy kept on running..and I kept following, motivated by the fear that she could hurt herself more than anything else. As I ran, a highlighted text I'd seen on a Christian journal earlier came to mind. ..chasing after women.. That was literally what I was doing now. Argh! Never in my dreams did I see this happening. Thankfully, most roadside vendors had closed shop due to the rain. If not, I'm sure Tessy and I would've knocked down a stall or two in our haste. Theresa turned of the main road and ran down a corner. What does this girl feed herself on? Darn, she does not seem to be getting tired! I rounded the bend after her. And stopped. I was wrong. Tessy was on the ground, crying hysterically. Her perfectly-combed hair had come undone and her bag lay upturned, spilling her English textbook, some buns (I'm sure she got it from Pierre's), a copy of 1984, a maths set, hair ribbons, hair pins and some other stuff you only see in a girl's bag out. I gradually came to a halt beside her. It was only then that I noticed she'd fallen and grazed her knee. I bent down and picked up the items, transferring them to my bag because her's was already soaked. Then, I turned to face her. She was still crying but was calm now. But as I made to move towards her, the look on her face changed to one of a trapped animal. I best play this cool. "Tessy, I'm going to help you up. Can you walk?" She looked at her bruised knee. "I think so." Her voice was hoarse. I walked to her, put my hands underneath her arms and pulled her up. She winced as she tried to flex her leg. I've had knee contusions before, so I knew they hurt. They hurt as hell. Tessy was still trying t o braue it up, but I could see that she was wincing often. And when I let go of her to pick up her bag, she nearly came crashing. "Tessy.." That was a far as I could go before she clung to me so tight I had trouble breathing. Fresh tears cascading down her cheeks. I couldn't move, even if I tried. And there we stood in the rain. Two sixteen year-olds. As weird as it sounds, all that was going through my mind was, ''if your Dad sees you now, you're toast! If Mom sees you first, you're DEAD." PLEASE SCROLL DOWN |

Hey there, feline aficionados! ![]() I've got a wee issue I'd like to get your advice on. Please take the time to read this. Let's get right down to brass tacks. I'm still a student. I do not have the available resources (time to be with it constantly, space for it to live & sleep in, money to buy food & supplies, etc) to get my own kitten. Besides, my folks are pet-resistant (as long as it's not livestock, don't bring it into the house, son!). Anyway, there's a cat (I'm guessing its a ''teenage'' kitten from its shrill voice, am I even making sense? ''Teenage kitten.'') that saunters the streets of the neighbourhood mostly in the dead of the night. Some evenings, it can easily be seen in the brush or lithely crossing the sidewalk, doing whatever cats do at that time o' day. It's white-and-black and seems to have green eyes, with the surrounding exposed flesh a light pink, same as its mouth and paws (I've caught only glimpses). Once I walked down the street very close to the cat, but as I stopped to get a proper look, it BOLTed (I think I'll name it Usain, ha!). OK, my plan is this: Lure it to my home, befriend it, feed it some leftover food or cat food if I can get it, talk to it, stay with it then let it go at its own volition. And when it comes again, befriend it some more, feed it some more, talk to it, stay with it. Then let it go again..and on and on. Until, at least, circumstances allow me to adopt it. Weird plan, I know. But it's that or let it starve to death outside. It's the dry season so the population of its natural prey, esp. rats are at an all time low. AND I DON'T WANT IT EATING COCKROACHES! Two nights ago, it cried for almost 20mins. I dunno why, but I'm guessing it was due to the pangs of hunger. And later in the morning, I found a pool of thick blood on fallen banana leaves by the path it normally takes to the bushes. Don't know what this means but it can't be good. The blood was too much to be from a lizard or chicken. But, ah..I deviate.. So the question is: How do I lure Usain in, and at least take proper care of it till the rains (and rats) return?
