Twitter may be struggling to elect someone for its CEO vacancy, but the microblogging site itself has been successfully employed by many to find and recruit new talent worldwide. Mark Essien, CEO of Hotels.ng, has used Twitter to post job applications and interview candidates for positions at his Nigerian hotel booking startup. Through the social network, he's made some top hires, including a head of content marketing and head of finance, CNN reports. Building up over 330 million active monthly users over the last nine years, Twitter has become a prevalent network among celebrities, politicians and brands. While journalists utilize Twitter as a tool to share and discover news, companies often have their accounts for customer support, and political contenders have conducted question-and-answer sessions with constituents -- which don't often always go well. For Hotels.ng and other young startups, the network has become an easy and efficient communications tool for connecting to investors and job applicants. "Social media has been one of the biggest helpers in taking Hotels.ng from an idea to one of the biggest technology companies in Nigeria," Essien told CNN. "[Twitter] also serves as the communication platform for the entire technology community in Nigeria. It's how we meet and share knowledge in the small ecosystem." While LinkedIn may be seen as the professional social network as a site that hosts virtual resumes and official company job listings, Essien has elected to use Facebook and Twitter as the unconventional recruiting tools for his two-year-old startup. "Even for startups for which it is not a great customer acquisition tool, it's excellent for reaching investors and for recruiting, and those are two of the most essentials task for any CEO," Essien said. It's not all done over 140-character-long public tweets. Essien told CNN that he uses Twitter as a "filter system -- to ensure that only the people who could at least answer those first questions would receive my follow-up questions via email." These questions -- for a researcher position -- included "Give a real-life situation where median is more correct to use than mean?" and "Is it true: some people only can make blueprints, some only can execute blueprints? Why." Essien's company, which is said to be the largest hotel booking site in Nigeria, is not the first-time Twitter has gained notoriety as a job recruitment tool. A famous example in the technology industry is Uber's first hire. Uber CEO Travis Kalani had tweeted, "Looking 4 entrepreneurial product mgr/biz-dev killer 4 a location based service.. pre-launch, BIG equity, big peeps involved--ANY TIPS??" in January 2010. Among others, the message received a reply from Ryan Graves, who works as the head of global operations at the ride-hailing company most recently valued at $50 billion. http://www.ibtimes.com/african-startup-employs-twitter-job-applications-screen-interview-candidates-2065321?ft=c69n9 |

jonmoveek:Look for the app EXIF VIEWER in the play store. Install and open any photo with it. The info it reveals is not that detailed compared to the PC version but it's something |
jonmoveek:Yes I did, you can do it even with an android phone. |
nonichuks:Since April? I'll give you that but those pictures are under dispute. |
Well well, |
Thezoomustfall:Why does the time tag say Monday April 27th, 22:36:31? Ignorant being that uploaded picture without removing vital information from it. |

ige101:Every time you take a photo, information about the photo and the device that took the photo is embedded into the photo. The picture of the keke is a treasure trove of information when you pass it through a photo analysis software . It says it was taken on the 22nd of February by a Canon EOS 600D with an index number 038078029421. The other photos provide doubtful information. That you can pass a picture taken with another camera a product of the phone disproves the incredible statement that is comparable to IPhone. |
Given its paucity of apps, like blackberry this should be their saving grace. |
Boring list, check mine 1. Tinder : are you new to a town and want to hook up with new friends? This app links to guys and girls within 150km from your location utilizing your GPS location. 2. FRIDGE CHECK & RECIPE FINDER: tired of eating the same food again and again? Open your fridge, note the foodstuffs in there, type them into the apps and you receive various different recipes to try. 3. CAAST: come across a link on your phone you want to open on a laptop or another phone? Simple share via coast. 4. TVMC: watch any movie, TV series, football match, anime or cartoon ever created. 5.Light – Answering Engine: when even Google can't answer your questions 6. ADAWAY: There be no ads while browsing. 7. WEAK CONTROL: mirror your phone's screen to any laptop browser via Wi-Fi 8. BREAKFREE AND FOREST : addicted to your phone? There's an app for that. 9. AIRDROID: need I say more? 10. INGRESS: only Homo Superior can understand this app. However, when you evolve to that level, you can't stop using it. |
babajero:But I am doing something wonderful with my life. That is why I'm the only one that noticed it out of everyone that wrote a comment on this topic. However, having gone through what others wrote about you, I have to leave you with this

maestroz:KIA, that's painful. |
Don't know who the guy is but from the pictures I noticed something odd. 1. The guy must have been on all least four different beds in that hospital. Look at the walls in each of the pictures, particularly the corners and you would notice the difference in bed location for each picture. 2. In one picture he was receiving whatever in a line set at the wrist. In another picture, the line is at the elbow. Why the jump?. 3. The line at the elbow is too obvious behind the plaster proving It's not in the body. |

pazienza:I like this. It is good interacting with intellectual individuals. However do not insult. Would rather interact with you than with people that don't have anything to offer like Omambala1 and UmuEri. Kindly hold on, will be back to interact |
UmuEri:If you believe you can use this to fly and bomb people then you need the education. |
Omambala1:I believe God overcompensated when he infused intelligence into you. |
Lvlink:How so? |
dokiOloye:No. I'm an enemy of illusions born of ideology of things that happened in the past. We Igbos have the potential of greatness but we blew it in the war. Look at the state we are in now : no laid down plans or framework projecting 10 to 20 years from now, no political representative laying the groundwork for our children's children to build on, no unionization of the whole of Igboland. Everyone is "to your tent" : just look at the last election. Orlu resisting Okigwe, Owerri fighting Mbaise, etc. It's now ME ME ME. forget Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers and Cross Rivers, what benefit would they gain joining us. And we are not helping ourselves.. Let me ask you ; the youths in your village, the leaders of tomorrow, where are they? In Lagos, Abuja, etc not building the homeland. Remove Aba and Enugu, which other city do we have that can emulate the west, that we have collectively joined together to build? Instead, I hear "when we get Biafra, it will be heaven on earth? |
kernel501:I commend the boy for doing it but it's not an invention. While I was growing up I built gliders made of wood, I came across the plan in a library. Currently trying to DIY a drone that can fly for 15 to 20 minutes. They are not inventions and the plans are on the Internet. My beef is someone saying it will be used to drop bombs. |
Lvlink:Umuchoke in Umuduragirishi, Amaigbo in Nwangele LGA. |
Omambala1:Is that your best? Sigh |
Omambala1:For your information, I'm an Igbo man from Imo State. Wrap your singleton brain cell around that. |
kolinton1:Come on. Don't make me believe that intelligent life-forms are in space and not in this earth. This was what I got from the source of the article. Well this is surely definitive proof that there is life on Mars. (Editor's Note: THIS IS A JOKE. WE ARE JOKING.) |
UmuEri:Its poison, not POISING. NA. |
dokiOloye:Look at the blades ; look fragile and short. Two hours in the air, that means it will fly to Imo river and stop unless you will be chasing it with hose and fuel. BTW, anyone can build it, just check YouTube and the Internet. You might as well buy a drone for $100. The only thing enemies of Biafra will die of is laughter when they see it. There is a guy in umuahia that builds better. Why wait for government? Rochas is owning months in salary. Build it better and go international.

Another " insufficient memory" phone? If it is soon to be released by the company, how come pictures of a corper's shoe and kekes in Nigeria where taken? |
Simply wonderful. Kudos to you. |
Not surprised, you would be shocked to hear what happens behind closed doors. |
